LAST WORD - Gabriel says: "Adding to the debate between Claudia and Chris, I think a short passing style actually suits Torres more than high balls over the top. Sometimes last season they had lumped the ball up to Torres and he didn't really have the aerial presence to deal with the height on the ball and would lose it more often than not to the defence. By playing a more patient game, I think it adds an element of surprise to the defenders when the final through ball is played and his pace becomes more effective. That's my opinion." Cheers Gabriel, cheers everyone, enjoy the rest of the night!
AJ says: "Yet again another major decision made by officials and they get it wrong yet again. When is Mike Riley and his cronies going to get transparency within his officiating domaine. They say its the best league in the world but certainly controlled by the the worst officials."
FULL TIME. The ref blows for full time soon after the re-start. A great game here at Stamford Bridge. Thanks for your views tonight, stay with us for reaction. I'll post up a last word in a sec.
GOAL - IVANOVIC!!!! Federici comes up for the corner. Harte takes and Chelsea win the ball and break upfield. Federici tries to get back but it is always in vain. Hazard breaks into the right side of the box before crossing to Ivanovic at the far post who slots home from close range past Gunter!!!
Harte takes the free-kick but it is poor and Meireles heads out for a throw in to Reading 15 yards out on the left. They take and win another throw in off Meireles. They take again and Leigertwood wins a free-kick off Terry 30 yards out in front of goal.
R-K crosses from the left byline and McAnuff heads back across goal at the far post but Cech is quickly off his line and gathers.
Meireles wins a free-kick midway in Chelsea's half on the right off R-K. Chelsea putn it forward but the ball comes off Torres for a Reading throw in midway in their half on the left.
Mata tries an effort from 25 yards on the left but it is wide and over. That is his last contribution of the game as he is replaced by Meireles.
GOAL - TORRES!!! Torres for Chelsea, although replays show he was a yard offside when Cole plays his cross. In the build-up, Mata finds Cole to the left side of the box who then hits a cross across the face of goal and Torres has a simple tap in from six yards at the far post!!! Wow!!! Chris from Warrington i bet you're happy!!
Hazard's effort from 25 yards to the left is blocked, as is Ivanovic's shot from the right. The ball drops to Mata who tries an effort from 12 yards in front of goal but it is wide of Federici's right post.
"In reply to Chris's last comment: I'm a chelsea fan as well and that's your opinion and I respect that. But if we are using a different technique and winning games shouldn't we support our manager and our players.? Why bring us down when we can go to the top of the premier league tonight.! Support your team and keep them on a high not bring them down! From Claudia(: "
Sturridge releases Ivanovic to the right byline who crosses into the centre but Gorkss puts the ball out for a Chelsea throw in ten yards out on the right. They take but Reading clear.
ALF crosses from the left byline into the centre of the box but Cech punches clear and Chelsea break forward but Torres loses the ball in the Reading box.
McAnuff almost gets behind Ivanovic but Terry tracks back and dis-possesses him on the edge of the box in front of goal.
Mata tries a curler from the edge of the box to the right of goal but it goes just wide of Federici's far post.
GOAL - CAHILL!!!! Cahill tries an effort from 30 yards to the right of goal and his low effort swerves in the air and Federici, diving to his left, gets his hands on it but lets it in. Another howler to go with his one from Saturday against Stoke. Game on!!!!!
Hazard feeds the ball to Torres to the left side of the box. He tries an effort from 16 yards which hits Pearce and Torres appeal for hand-ball but the ref waves play on.
Hazard's effort from 15 yards on the right is blocked by Pearce before Cole puts the rebound wide from 18 yards on the left.
Chelsea press the Reading box and keep good possession before Oscar loses the ball to Karacan on the edge of the box.
Chris has been back in touch to say: "Yes Hazard is a handful, that was never in dispute, I just feel that we try to build up too much when there are more opportunities to be had by opting for a more direct approach once in a while. Look at the game against Wigan. We won but the second half was open for so many goals if we went direct but instead we opted to pass backwards and give them the chance to regroup and then our attacks were broken down. You could see the frustration on Nando's face because he was crying out for the ball to be slotted into the huge gaps behind the defence however they never came."
Terry's clearance to the right side of the box hits Cole and goes out for a Reading corner on the right. Harte takes but Chelsea clear.
Hazard passes to Oscar who tries a low effort from 28 yards in front of goal but Federici is down well to his right to gather.
Chris in Warrington says: "I think Chelsea will come back and win 3-2 or maybe even 4-2 hazard will score next my bet reading/chelsea halftime/full time £5 28/1." Good luck Chris!
Mata takes the free-kick towards Terry at the far post. He rises with pearce who heads away and Terry lands badly and needs treatment on the pitch.
Karacan is booked for a late challenge on Mata. Terry takes the free-kick on the halfway line towards Cahill in the box but Pearce shepherds the ball back to his keeper.
Lampard takes the corner but Reading hold firm before Mikel puts the ball out for a goal kick with a wayward pass.
Chelsea press and Leigertwood has to put Hazard's cutback from the right byline out for a corner on the right.
Torres crosses from the left into the box but Pearce clears for a Chelsea throw in 25 yards out on the left.
Dave, a Cambridge United fan, says in reply to Chris: "It's very easy to play counter attacking football against teams like Barca' who just send wave after wave of attack, but against teams like Reading who will just be happy to sit back, drop deep and soak up pressure it's not going to work. We are 2 games into a season ( 1 1/2 actually) and your moaning about styles of play, give it 10/15 games please, if not, then at least til the end of this game."
Reading break forward and the ball falls to Karacan who tries an effort from just outside the box in front of goal but Terry clears.
Chelsea press but Hazard's cross from the right side of the box is too close to Federici who gathers at his far post.
Chelsea come again and Hazard tries to cross from near the left byline but it goes out for a goal kick.
Torres cuts the ball back from the right byline but Ivanovic blasts over from 16 yards on the right.
Gabriel says: "I think there's a slight eerie-ness to how this games gone so far for Chelsea fans. When Lampard converted the penalty I thought Chelsea could be onto another three or four goals this evening. To Reading's credit they have done well to fight back and get their noses in front when many other heads would have dropped. I'm now thinking Chelsea will get back into this but won't have quite enough to rescue more than a point. Torres could still be on for a goal though! I'm going 2-2."
Jack Bell says: "Reading will win the game 1-4 in one of the biggest upsets of the season. You heard it here first."
Jack Watson says: "What can i say that is awful from chelsea yes ok chelsea go 1-0 up but then they slacked in defence pick up please chelsea in the second half it would be good to get 3 points."
James in Berkshire says: "Readings best three players of the half - McCleary, Pogrebnyak and Guthrie all arrived on a free transfer. The pre-season critics wrote reading off as relegation favourites because we didn't spend "enough" money. Fear reading at your peril - we LOVE to be the underdog!"
Nigel says: "Wow what a game. Its great to have the premier league back. Truly fantastic league. I think Reading are gonna win this 3-2. Pog to get another and mata for chelsea."
I disagree with Chris' assessment myself, I think Hazard is a real handful. I think the problem for Chelsea is complacency - Reading look hungrier and more up for this. Surely Di Matteo will give them a rocketing at half time?
Chris in Aylesbury says: "Chelsea play a very attractive game of passing football. I am a Chelsea fan through and through but I feel very frustrated by this style of play. Arsenal have been slated in the past for playing this way and now Chelsea are doing the same thing. We are trying to pass the ball into the net and it just isn't working for us. Yes the pace and talent of Hazard is getting us opportunities but I really wish we would play to ALL our strengths. Torres isn't scoring well for Chelsea but he could be firing 20-30+ per season if we would play proper counter attacks. Look at the goal against Barca last season - a ball straight over the top which he ran on to and slotted home in typical Torres fashion. Why oh why can't the tacticians at my beloved Chelsea see that pretty passing isn't always the way to break the opposition down??" Discuss....
Tony P says: "Who'd of thought Reading Top of Prem already. Nice start. Pog to get another as long as he's alright after that knock. 1-3 Reading." Too right Tony, who'd have thought it?!
Fancy a bet? Sky Bet now go 6/4 for a Chelsea win and 15/8 for both the draw and for Reading. My 2-0 Chelsea prediction is blown and who knows what will happen in the second period? Send your views / predictions to firstname.lastname@example.org

Chelsea win a throw in 20 yards out on the right. They take but Ivanovic's pass is sloppy and it is a Reading throw in in a similar position.
Harte takes a fantastic free-kick and Pog runs to meet the ball but he just misses it. It is a massive let-off for Chelsea - their defence stood still and Pog was unmarked but could not get his head on it from eight yards.
Harte takes the corner and Chelsea partially clear before Pog wins a free-kick off Terry 30 yards out in front of goal.
Guthrie takes the corner but Torres clears at his near post. reading come again and Pog does well to win a corner off Terry on the right. Reading are showing more hunger and desire here.
McCleary crosses from 20 yards on the right into the box and Cahill heads out for a corner on the left with Pog bearing down on him.
Chelsea press and Mikel crosses from the left, picking out Hazard in the centre. He takes a touch before shooting from 25 yards but his effort is well high and wide.

GOAL - GUTHRIE!!!! Can you believe it!! Harte runs over the ball before Guthrie curls a low free-kick effort around the wall. it is straight at Cech who is diving to his left and it somehow hits the keeper and into the net. What a howler!!! Game on!!!! Reading are in dreamland!!!
McAnuff makes a great run down the left flank before being felled by Terry 22 yards out to the left of goal. He is lucky not to be booked.
GOAL - POG!!!! Pog heads Reading level and what a goal!!! McCleary plays a one-two down the right flank before crossing into the box from 22 yards and Pog gets a yard ahead of Cahill before sending a glancing header from 15 yards into the left hand roof of the net!!! Game on!!!

Reading break forward and win a corner on the right off Cole. Harte puts it into the box but Cech gathers under pressure at the far post.
PEN GOAL - LAMPARD!!!! Lampard blasts it low into the bottom left corner. Federici guesses right but the ball has too much pace on it and the Blues are ahead!!
PEN GIVEN - HAZARD!!! Hazard wins another penalty, like at Wigan in the opening game. He gets around Gunter on the left side of the box and Gunter fells him and the ref points to the spot!!!
McCleary tries to get past Cole on the right flank and wins a throw in 15 yards out. Reading take and cross to Pog in the box but Terry is there to head back to his keeper.
Cole tries to cross into the centre from the left byline but mis-kicks and the ball goes harmlessly out for a goal kick.
Torres tries an effort from the edge of the box in front of goal but it is charged down. The ball falls to Cole on the left who crosses to Ramires at the far post but his header loops up and is easy for Federici to catch.

Chelsea come again and Lampard tries to release Torres into the left side of the box with a ball over the top but Pearce tracks back and heads away.
Hazard wins a free-kick off Guthrie 35 yards out on the left. Chelsea take and feed the ball to Ramires on the right who crosses to Lampard on the edge of the box in front of goal who directs the ball on goal but it is straight at Federici who gathers.
Chelsea break forward and Ramires runs into the box and shoots at goal from 15 yards, forcing Federici into a save to his right. However he should have passed to the unmarked Torres at the far post!
Chelsea keep good possession before Guthrie robs Lampard near the halfway line. Reading break forward but Guthrie loses the ball to Hazard near the Chelsea box on the right.
Chelsea press down the right flank and Mata tries to release Lampard into the right side of the box and Harte has to clear out for a Chelsea throw in 15 yards out on the right.
Chelsea now break forward and Mata releases Hazard to the left of goal but his low shot from 22 yards is wide of Federici's left post.
Reading break forward down the right flank via McCleary. He cuts the ball back to Gunter who crosses into the box from 25 yards on the right but the Blues clear their box.
Kenny from Dublin says: "3-3 draw tonight? I have five players from my FF playing tonight with Terry, Hazard and Torres from Chelsea and Harte and Pogrebniak from Reading. Hoping for some points to move up the table :)" Cheers Kenny, you never know!! The players are coming out onto the pitch, not long to go now!!
Mark in Brooklyn says: "Hazard to shine on home debut but the goals come from the vets. Lamps & JT on target with another 2-0 to the Blues." Cheers Mark, my scoreline also, but I reckon Torres will net first!

Ghazi says: "I predict a hard encounter tonight, early goals again from Chelsea but this time from Torres with Lamps, Mata and Hazard all up for assists and then hopefully will see a late goal for Sturidge replacing hat-rick hero Torres. 4-0" That would be good for our fantasy teams!!

Glen from Dublin says: "I reckon it's gonna be tougher than expected for Chelsea but reckon they'll get a 3-1 win with torres ramires and mata the three chelsea scorers and pogrebnyak for reading."
Gabriel Sutton from Birmingham says: "I think you've got to fancy Chelsea for the win tonight. They will have been buoyed by their win at Wigan on Sunday but they also have players like Oscar who can come off the bench and change the game. Think it will be a continued winning start for Chelsea and Di matteo's tenure at Stamford Bridge but in terms of the bigger picture, I still think Mr Abramovic will need to be patient with him if he wants a title-winning team to be built in the long term." Judging by previous actions, I think it is a long shot that Roman will be patient!!

The reading goal will come from Pavel Pogrebnyak or McAnuff." Cheers Iain, enjoy the game!
Fancy a bet? Sky Bet go 30/100 for a Chelsea win, 9/2 for the draw and 8/1 for a Reading victory. I'm going for a 2-0 Chelsea win, with Torres to score first, which pays a handsome 14/1!
