Hazard's goal earns a scrappy 1-0 win over Swansea on Boxing Day to keep Chelsea on the pace with their Premier League title rivals. The Belgian was the lone star man on a forgettable afternoon in which Mourinho's team again fail to take their chances against Laudrup's toothless visitors at Stamford Bridge. Stay with us for all the post-match reaction.
Late corner for Swansea and surely their final chance. Chelsea just about scramble it clear after some confusion but it eventually deflects out for a goal-kick.
Hernandez tries to take on Ivanovic near the corner flag but the Chelsea defender is always in charge and clears the ball down field.
Dreadfully strange pass from Shelvey as he has the chance to put the ball into the box but instead sprays it wide and behind his team-mates.
Laudrup looks very disappointed on the touchline. His team just have not created enough going forward today.
Swansea are trying to make a fight of the ending but Bony heads well wide. It looks like Chelsea are going to be able to stutter to a 1-0 win.
Ramires is booked for clattering Bony and the Brazilian will now be suspended against Liverpool at the weekend.
Schurrle forces Amat into giving away a corner and Amat is booked for some reason after the challenge. The corner is straight into the hands of Tremmel.
Mourinho is barking orders at his players from the touchline. He looks so frustrated as Swansea have not been a threat to his team all game.
Chelsea counter-attack with a three-on-two break but Ramires does not pick the final pass before Britton gets back to challenge and then win a foul on the edge of the box.
Swansea need to start taking a few risks and maybe go long to Bony. Terry and Luiz have had it too easy this afternoon.
This is a nervy finish for Chelsea now due to their failure to take their earlier chances. Another corner from De Guzman on the left this time goes deep into the box and Ramires has to head clear. Chelsea are dropping deep.
A panicky clearance from Ivanovic gives Swansea a corner. Bony attacks De Guzman's delivery from the left but Ivanovic redeems himself with an excellent defensive header.
Hazard's corner is the worst of the lot as his lazy swing at the ball sees it daisy-cut its way into the box before being whacked clear by Swansea at the near post.
Ramires wins a corner on the right. It is Chelsea's 12th corner of the game. They need to finally make one of these count.
Free-kick to Chelsea wide on the right and Lampard will take. Ivanovic meets the ball, pushing and pulling with Amat, but has to lean back to reach and hook a volley well over the crossbar.
Swansea have still to seriously threaten Cech in the second half. Chelsea must be so frustrated they have not had another couple of goals to make this less tense.
Replays have just shown a very nasty challenge from Ramires on Britton earlier in the game. When Ramires was leaping over the sliding Swansea midfielder, he appeared to stamp his studs down. Ramires would have been off if that had been spotted.
Corner to Swansea on the left after Ivanovic refuses to take any chances and heads behind from Rangel's cross.
Hazard gets to the byline against Britton and manages to dig out a cross but it is too deep and over the heads of the few Chelsea players who had bothered to get forward into the box.
Will Laudrup consider rolling the dice and send on Bony for the last 20 minutes? It has surely got to be worth a try. Vazquez has been really poor.
There is some movement on the Chelsea bench but it looks like it is going to be Lampard who might be coming on.
Eto'o stands with his hands outstretched in disbelief after being flagged offside. It surely will not be long before we see Torres, unless Mourinho is saving the Spaniard for the weekend's game at former club Liverpool.
No. De Guzman's delivery goes to the near post where Eto'o can head the ball clear. Swansea's set-pieces have been poor today.
After a period of possession, Swansea have a corner on the right which substitute De Guzman will take. Can they make it count?
At the follow-up corner, it is Vazquez who clears when Chelsea are attacking. It looks like Swansea could be getting ready to bring on De Guzman.
From the corner, Luiz wins the first header and Williams has to scoop it behind for another corner to prevent the ball from dropping to Ivanovic.
Chelsea fans behind the goal are screaming for a penalty after Hazard squares up Amat from a long ball. But Amat times his tackle well and it is a corner.
It looks like Swansea are trying to push Shelvey a bit further forward in this half to get some support to Vazquez, who has again been poor.
Chelsea break from a Swansea attack but Eto'o's pass goes all the way back to Mikel and the move loses some rhythm. Eto'o's pass for Mata is then just too hard and the ball rolls out of play.
Britton looks like he fouls Hazard on the edge of the box but referee Jones waves play on. Hazard is left on the turf in dis belief.
'Come on Chelsea' is the chant from Stamford Bridge as the home fans attempt to lift their team. Like in the first half, it has been a very scrappy start to the second.
Swansea have to still believe they can get something from this game. If they are able to get their passing game going, Chelsea's confidence could wobble.
Mourinho wags his finger at referee Taylor after Routledge is tripped inside his own half. Replays show it was a clear foul.
Poor from Shelvey as he attempts a first-time volleyed pass but he skims it with the outside of his boot and sends it back to Chelsea.
Eto'o has his head in his hands and is then looking up to the sky. After being teed up by Hazard on the edge of the box, he drags a low shot wide of the base of the post. It was not a clear chance but he should have done better.
Eto'o must be wondering what he is doing wrong with the two great chances he has wasted in this game. Is he the same player of old?
Oscar and Hazard have been Chelsea's best players today and they again pick up where they left off, linking up with some lovely play down the flank.
Chelsea almost make it two just 13 seconds into the second half. Eto'o volleys at goal from point-blank range from a Mata cross from the right but hits the ball straight at Tremmel. Chelsea just are not taking their chances.
Hazard's goal gives Chelsea the lead at the break. Mourinho's men deserve their lead and they really should be further in front in a game which never really got out of first gear. Swansea have been poor. Let me have your thoughts on the first half at email@example.com or via Twitter @SkySportsPeteF.
Another corner to Chelsea. This time they go short before Oscar puts too much on his cross and it flies out of play at the far post.
It has been a disappointing half but Chelsea deserve their lead for the chances they have created. But they have not put the game to bed yet. Swansea need to hold the ball up in their attacking third and Vazquez really has to show a bit more self-belief.
Mourinho has been moaning about his team's failure to kill off opponents and they are again not taking their chances this afternoon.
Eto'o has a poor finish from a chance to make it 2-0. After a ball is played over the top, Eto'o strikes the ball into the ground from a half-volley and Tremmel is able to make a decent save.
Shelvey does not take on the shot this time and Chelsea can head clear. Routledge keeps the ball alive but that man Oscar is there again to block the cross. The Brazilian gets through so much positive work for his team.
There has been no flow to this game. It keeps being disrupted by niggling fouls, throw-ins and corners. This time it is Cole who brings down Pozuelo.
This time it is a free-kick to Chelsea. It is floated towards Luiz but his header is an easy take for Tremmel. Swansea try to play their way out, however, Oscar again tackles back. What work-rate.
Shelvey does indeed take on the shot but it is high and wide and very disappointing. That was poor when Swansea had the chance to put Chelsea under pressure.
Another Swansea free-kick as Luiz floors Shelvey. It is at least 35 yards from goal but looks like Shelvey fancies the shot.
Vazquez has been really poor for Chelsea. He has not been holding the ball up and looks totally lacking in confidence. Shelvey or Williams has probably been Swansea's best player.
Chelsea immediately go on the attack and Hazard plays a sharp on-two with Mata on the edge of the box before unleashing a shot which Tremmel has to be alert to save. Hazard has been the star of the fairly forgettable show so far.
Save from Cech denies Vazquez from a great chance. Taylor's cross from the left is flicked on by Shelvey and Vazquez has a volley at goal but it is tipped over by Cech. Vazquez did not finish with great conviction and looked like a man who has not scored for Swansea.
Free-kick to Swansea and a chance for them to respond. Shelvey aims to send the ball into the box but does not really find a team-mate, although Luiz is a bit awkward in making the clearance.
Chelsea are rewarded for their pressure with the opening goal. Hazard cuts in from the left and hits a right foot effort at goal from the edge of the box. It seems to be straight at Tremmel but Williams gets in the way. Williams does not touch the ball but is a distraction and Tremmel allows the ball to squirm into the back of the net. It is a soft goal for Swansea to concede.
Chelsea need to make this pressure count, though. Tremmel has still only had one very simple save to make. Chelsea's crossing has not been the best.
Yet another corner for Chelsea but Mata's inswinging delivery is again cleared by Williams at the near post. Swansea simply cannot get out of their own penalty area at present.
The corner is poor and cleared by Williams at the near post. But Oscar tracks back and tackles. That is why he is in the team. His work-rate is superb.
Mata has suddenly started pulling the strings and a brilliant turn leaves Amat on the ground. Eto'o wins another corner as Williams blocks his cross.
Mata's free-kick finds the head of Luiz but the centre-back is caught between nodding at goal or flicking the ball on and it drifts out for a goal-kick.
Mata is coming into the game and is fouled by Amat on the left touchline. That was a silly foul. Mata was not going anywhere and he can now launch the ball into the box from the set-piece.
Chelsea have come to life in the last couple of minutes and Swansea are having to hold on. Williams has made a couple of important clearances.
Off the line by Williams! Mata's deep cross is poked back across goal from Terry. Just as Mikel is about to tap the ball in, Williams volleys clear. Chelsea have Swansea pressed back inside their own penalty area.
From a corner, Oscar produces a great tackle on Pozuelo to keep the ball alive. Chelsea then win another corner as the ball is taken off the toe of Luiz. This is a good period of pressure from Chelsea. They win their third corner in quick succession.
Groans around Stamford Bridge as Eto'o holds off two Swansea defenders on the edge of the visitors' box but then his pass is not on the same wavelength as Oscar, who had stopped his run.
Excellent stuff from Eto'o as he out-muscles Williams and then turns the ball around the corner to the on-rushing Ramires. The Brazilian takes on the long-range shot on the volley and it is at Tremmel, who gathers at the second attempt.
It has not been a great game so far. Both teams are playing at a very slow pace and there is not a very good atmosphere in Stamford Bridge as a result.
From the goal-kick, Chelsea go long up field and the ball breaks to Hazard inside the area. But from the edge of the six-yard box in the inside right channel he scuffs his shot well wide of the far post.
Shelvey again finds some space in the centre circle. He is not being picked up by Mikel or Ramires. Shelvey takes advantage and drives forward but his low shot from 20 yards is dragged wide.
Swansea find a bit of time on the ball and manage to move forward but Rangel's low cross from the right is eventually intercepted by Mikel. Chelsea go on the attack and Ramires' long-ranger is blocked.
From the resulting corner, Luiz is blatantly pushing his marker and gives away a free-kick. That is a waste.
Chelsea force their best attack so far of a fairly flat afternoon. Eto'o's back heel set up Ivanovic for a shot. He scuffed his effort slightly but Williams took no chances and cleared the effort over the crossbar.
Hazard is coming in for some abuse from the travelling Swansea fans after the Chelsea star was sent off in last season's Capital One Cup semi-final leg in Wales for infamously kicking a ball-boy.
Excellent covering from Taylor prevents Oscar from going clean through on goal from Hazard's pass. Williams had made a mess of attempting to clear the ball.
Chelsea are pushing very high onto Swansea to prevent Laudrup's side from passing their way out of defence. Swansea's centre-backs are not having any time on the ball.
Shelvey sends the ball into the box and Amat, who has lost marker Luiz, knocks on a header but it is well over the crossbar. Luiz, though, should have been closer to his man.
Free-kick to Swansea towards the left touchline and a chance to launch the ball into the box after Vazquez is brought down by Mata.
Great challenge from Mikel on the halfway line on Pozuelo. They go shoulder-to-shoulder but the Chelsea midfielder has far too much strength.
Mourinho is already tapping his watch on the touchline as Tremmel takes his time over a goal-kick. It is only five minutes into the game.
Swansea have been uncharacteristically sloppy in these opening minutes. They keep gifting possession to Chelsea and are inviting pressure onto the edge of their own box.
Cole gets his first touch of the afternoon and plays the ball down the touchline to Hazard, who is tackled for a throw-in. Chelsea then go long into the box and Rangel has to be strong to challenge Hazard.
Williams is caught in possession inside his own half by Ramires who then looks for a one-two with Eto'o but the latter's return pass is misplaced and gives Swansea the ball back.
Not the most attractive of starts to the game as both Swansea and Chelsea give the ball away inside the opening 60 seconds following two long hoofs up field.
@Andrew_Grygier says: 'I still think we should be playing two strikers. 4-1-2-1-2, give Eto'o and Torres a chance together.'
Toby Day says: 'Chelsea to win today with Eto'o and Schurrle to score! Chelsea v Arsenal was just boring but I think that this will be a bit more interesting for Chelsea. COME ON BLUES!!!'
Gerhard Tremmel has conceded a goal every 40 minutes on average this season in the Premier League and has a much lower saves to shots ratio (50%) than fellow Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm (67%).
Swansea won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the Capital One Cup semi-final last season but Michael Laudrup's side have won just two of the last 13 meetings with Chelsea in all competitions (W2 D5 L6). They are, though, still comfortably seven points clear of the relegation zone. They have an important game against Aston Villa, who are just one point below them at present, at the weekend.
Here is a full round-up of all of this afternoon's team news. Cole returns in a Chelsea side showing five changes - possibly with an eye on the coming game with Liverpool - from Monday's 0-0 draw at Arsenal. Cole replaces Cesar Azpilicueta while David Luiz, Juan Mata, Oscar - making his 50th Premier League appearance - and Samuel Eto'o come in for Gary Cahill, Frank Lampard, Willian and Torres, respectively. Swansea make six changes following the loss to Everton, with Dwight Tiendalli, Ben Davies, Chico Flores, Pablo Hernandez, Jonathan De Guzman and Wilfred Bony replaced by Angel Rangel, Neil Taylor, Jordi Amat, Leon Britton, Alejandro Pozuelo and Alvaro Vazquez. Michu is of course out for up to six weeks due to an ankle operation.
Chelsea have never lost a Premier League game on 26th December since Mourinho began his first spell at the club. Mourinho is also unbeaten at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
What do you make of the team news? Is Mourinho correct to re-call Cole? The Chelsea boss has also dropped Fernando Torres to the bench. Do you agree with that decision? Get in touch through email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via Twitter @SkySportsPeteF and I will publish a selection of the best.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been speaking before kick-off and looking ahead to the weekend's top-of-the table game with Liverpool. He said: 'We try to win every game and three points is important today so we can be in a good position before the Liverpool game.'
Paul Merson says: 'Chelsea played like a Jose Mourinho side against Arsenal and I now think they are big players in the title race. Before that game I thought their chances were a bit iffy but if they play like they did at the Emirates they have every chance because they will stifle teams and get results. I don't see them getting anything other than a win against Swansea, either.'
