All over. United are held by the Kaiser Chiefs. The Red Devils will be pleased to get a competitive 90 minutes under their belt, but will be looking for more in their next game in the Vodacom Challenge.
Kaizer Chiefs lump a number of hopeful balls into the box, but they never look like finding a yellow shirt and United deal easily with the danger.
No room for the Cheifs' attack as they try to pick their way through, only to be denied in the end by Vidic, who had presented them with the chance in the first place.
Campbell is offside, but he almost lofts a delicate finish over Khune. Fantastic threaded ball by Giggs to find the striker and the pass alone deserved a goal.
Great touch by Scholes as he ghosts into the box, but Nengomasha has tracked him well and gets in a vital, last ditch, challenge. United have eased off again of late and the game looks destined to end one apiece.
Clever play by Campbell as he eases past his man, he looks up once in the box but there is a sea of yellow shirts in front of him and he fails to find a killer ball.
Nengomasha has been taken off on a stretcher after a heavy fall under pressure from Tevez. He seems okay and probably just needs to catch his breath.
Good delivery by Simpson cuts out the towering centre-halfs, but Campbell fails to connect in the middle and the chance goes begging. He was given a nudge as he went for the ball, but should really have done better.
Motaung and Letsholonyane almost combine to create a clear cut opening, but take too long deciding who is going to shoot and end up finding themselves offside.
United's communication has let them down at times, with a perfect example here. Fletcher comes short for a throw, only to then duck under it in the belief that someone is behind him. There isn't!
Schalwyk makes way for Mthembu in the latest change. Hopefully the host of substitutions will not affect the flow of a game which has been highly watchable to this point.
Khune comes to claim a high ball and is clattered by Tevez. He wins a free-kick, much to the disgust of Campbell who was looking to put away the loose ball.
Torrealba's glanced header threatens to sneak inside the near post, but ultimately hits the side netting.
Tempers are in danger of boiling over as nasty tackles blight proceedings. Tevez this time is lucky not to be booked for a late lunge on Quartey.
Schalwyk bursts into the middle of the box, but the attempted pass to him is too long and skips through into the arms of Kuszczak. No white shirt had gone with the midfielder and if the pass had been better he would have been presented with a fantastic opportunity to restore the South African's lead.
Rooney has been winding himself up for a few minutes and unsurprisingly sees yellow for a petulant kick out at Tau. Fortunate maybe to stay on the field and definitely needs to calm down.
Kaizer Chiefs are still pushing forward when given the chance, with Nengomasha firing wide on this occasion. His effort was never troubling Kuszczak and he looks disappointed not to have hit the target.
United have upped the tempo and are moving the ball around with intent. However, on this occasion Tevez lifts a wild effort high, wide and handsome.
Tevez digs out a cross from the right and Eagles nods into an empty net after the ball loops over the desperate outstretched arms of Khune.
Tevez tries to squeeze the ball home at the near post, but Khune stands his ground and kicks the ball behind. Giggs' corner finds Eagles on the edge of the box, but he mistimes his volley and O'Shea is unable to divert it goalwards as the ball flashes past him.
Quick counter by the Kaizer Chiefs sees Torrealba plant a header narrowly wide of the post. Kuszczak would have got nowhere near it had it been on target. Another sharp reminder that United cannot afford to take things easy and expect the game to turn in their favour.
So close to an equaliser by Tevez. Good pace and a pinpoint cross from Eagles allows Tevez to glance a header inches wide of the post, with Khune stranded. Promising by United, who will expect their opponents to tire as the game draws on.
Bhasera and Nahayo have looked shaky at times in the heart if the Kaizer Cheifs defence, but always seem able to get a toe to the ball at a crucial time. Will their luck desert them, or can they hold firm and keep United out? Get in touch at Chris.Burton@bskyb.com.
Flecther's cross is comfortably plucked out of the air by khune, preventing Rooney from nodding home at the back post. Slightly more urgency on display by United at the start of the second half as they begin to realise that they are in danger of being turned over.
Tshabalala breaks clear down the left, but with no support in the middle his cross drifts out of play on the far side. Neville was caught out of position again.
Kaizer Cheifs lead at the break against the Premier League and UEFA Champions League title holders. United have looked far from comfortable at the back, while they have lacked a cutting edge going forward. The South African's have made life diffcult for Fergie's men, but it's hard to see them holding out for a further 45 minutes.
Eagles runs the ball out of play down the left. Not really happening for the winger today, but he is trying his best to impress on what may be his last opportunity to convince Ferguson that he deserves to remain at Old Trafford.
Mathebula sends an ambitious effort high into the crowd as he leans back when making contact with a long-range attempt. Kuszczak has hardly been worked, but has been forced to pick the ball out of the back of the net.
Tevez's turn to try his look with a set-piece, but his disappointing effort fails to test the keeper and ends up on the running track behind the goal. United have dominated possession but have failed to carve open a backline which looks shaky when put under pressure.
Good strike by Scholes from a 25-yard free-kick, but Khune provides a picture book moment as he dives away to his right and punches over the bar. Needless really, but looked impressive.
Giggs, Rooney and Tevez all try to bustle their way through a stubborn Cheifs defence, all to no avail.
Quartey keeps his cool to roll the ball into the bottom left-hand corner, with Kuszczak sent the wrong way. Will that wake United up?
Penalty to Kaizer Cheifs as a Neville challenge sends Tshabalala crashing to the ground. Clumsy by the skipper who has looked rusty at times.
Deep cross by Tau, who has got well forward from full-back, but Sibeko pushes Neville as he climbs to win a header at the back post. Kaizer Chiefs certainly have not been outplayed and will be pleased with the inroads they have made.
Rush of blood by Khune as he races out of his goal to meet Fletcher. The Scot tries to lob the keeper, but sees the ball palmed to safety. Khune was just inside his area when he handled, while Fletcher would have been better advised to try and round the keeper as opposed to going over him.
Rooney never gives anything less than 100% and his running around as if his life depends on the result of this contest. As yet he is not having much luck in front of goal, as every time he takes possession he is immediately surrounded.
Desperate defending by Quartey as he is forced into a spectacular diving header in order to prevent a Rooney cross from reaching the unmarked Eagles.
Tevez powers a low drive towards the bottom corner but Khune gets down well to palm it away. The stocky striker evaded his man in impressive fashion but faliled to connect as he would have wished.
Mathebula lofts a dangerous cross towards the back post, only to see Neville use all his experience to ease Tshabalala away from goal and allow the ball to sail out of play.
Torrealba has come the closest to scoring for the South African's and blazes another opportunity narrowly over the top as United's defence once again looks far from secure.
Shaky defending by the Kaizer Cheifs as Nahayo knocks an ill-advised pass back to his keeper. Khune deals with the danger well though and hammers clear before Scholes can close him down.
After a bright start, both sides have settled into the game and are knocking the ball around confidently without creating an incisive breakthrough.
Tshabalala once again looks to create havoc on the edge of the United box, but is crowded out as United get numbers back. Fletcher and Eagles need to be more aware of their defensive duties as they are being caught upfield far too often.
There is a good crowd inside the stadium, unsurprising though really when taking United's global appeal into account. Let's just hope that they get to see an entertaining game.
Both sides will be pleased that the pitch is currently completely in the shade, as the hot weather could affect the legs of players who are not yet back up to full match fitness.
Vidic sends a free header wide of the post as he rises superbly in the middle of the goal to meet a Giggs corner from the right. The centre-half is unlucky not to open the scoring as he attacked the ball so well.
Quick free-kick from Rooney almost catches the Kaizer Chiefs off guard, but his curling effort from a tight angle drifts harmlessly over the bar.
The resulting free-kick comes to nothing, but United are now camped in the South African's half and are pressing at every given opportunity.
Bhasera is fortunate this is only a friendly as he tugs Tevez back as the striker escapes past him into space. The Argentine would have been away and is not happy with the challenge.
Tshabalala twists and turns on the edge of the box, but he is always looking to get the ball on his left and eventually drags a tame effort straight at Kuszczak.
Great chance for the Chiefs as Neville is caught out of position and allows Torrealba to sneak in behind. The winger takes a touch to get the ball under control and by the time he has Neville has recovered to put in a block. Should the shot have been taken first time then United would have been in trouble.
Long range effort from Sibeko has Kuszczak sprawling to his left, but the keeper always has the situation under control and completes a comfortable save.
First touch for Scholes as he looks to create space on the edge of the box. Unfortunately he is closed down quickly as is unable to get a shot away.
Neville with a postive burst which earns United a corner. Giggs' delivery brushes the head of Fletcher, but Khune gets a solid punch on the ball and clears his line. Bright start by United and they look lively.
Space for Rooney on the left and his swinging cross almost finds the head of Tevez in the box. Alert defending though by Nahayo denies the Argentine.
How do see United getting on? Will they cruise to a comfortable victory or will they be on the end of a shock result? Building up match fitness is undoubtedly the main priority, but who do you standing out for the Red Devils?
