Coventry v Morecambe preview

Coventry need a point to secure a Sky Bet League Two play-off place when they hosts relegation-threatened Morecambe.
The Sky Blues could be unchanged after their 6-1 win at Cheltenham last weekend. Striker Marc McNulty scored a hat-trick in that game and should lead the line for Mark Robins' side. Jodi Jones and Tony Andreu remain sidelined with long-term knee injuries.
Morecambe are two points above the drop zone, with the final relegation spot set to go to either them or Barnet. The Shrimpers were taken over by Bond Group Investments Limited this week.
Veteran Garry Thompson has been struggling with an Achilles problem and remains a doubt. Last time out, Morecambe lost 1-0 at home to Barnet, who must beat already-relegated Chesterfield and hope Morecambe lose at the Ricoh to stay up.
This will be the first time Coventry have hosted Morecambe in a league match; they won both of their previous home meetings with them in all competitions, both in the FA Cup, by a 2-1 scoreline each time.
Morecambe came out winners in the only previous league clash between these two sides, goals from Vadaine Oliver and Callum Lang ensuring a 2-0 victory.
Coventry have won three of their last four league matches (L1), including a 6-1 victory over Cheltenham Town last time out, their biggest victory in the Football League since beating Bury 6-0 in League One back in February 2016.
A victory for the Shrimps would guarantee them their place in League Two next season and extend their 10-year stay in division.
Coventry, currently in 6th place, have not finished in the top six of any division since 1970 in the top-flight.
Marc McNulty's 23 goals have earned Coventry 18 points this season. Only Billy Kee (24) has won more points for his side with his goals than the Scottish player in League Two
It will be a strange game at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday. Both sides only need a point to achieve their respective goals and you wonder what impact that will have on their thinking.
That being said, Coventry have the opportunity to finish higher up the table and give themselves an advantage in the play-offs, and I reckon they will have enough quality to claim all three points and relegate Morecambe.
David Prutton predicts: 2-1 (17/2 with Sky Bet)
