Sky Blues look to cage the Canaries

Coventry and Norwich have been busy in the transfer market this summer and are likely to field new-look sides. The Sky Blues came dangerously close to dropping out of the Championship last season but are expected to figure further up the table this time around. Norwich will be keen to avoid a repeat of the dismal start which hampered their 2007/08 campaign, while they also need to find a cutting edge in front of goal.

Morrison debut

Clinton Morrison goes straight into Chris Coleman's squad for the Sky Blues' opening Championship clash at the Ricoh Arena. The 29-year-old Republic of Ireland striker agreed to sign for Coventry on Thursday having been released by Crystal Palace over the summer. Morrison could form an all-new strike partnership with fellow summer recruit Freddy Eastwood, although Robbie Simpson and ex-Canary Leon McKenzie will also be in contention. Fellow forward Leon Best misses out, however, after suffering a knee ligament injury in the recent friendly against Kilmarnock. Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and midfielders Guillaume Beuzelin and Aron Gunnarsson should make their debuts while former Sunderland full-back Stephen Wright could also be involved if he completes his prospective move to the Midlands.
Bell sidelined
Norwich boss Glenn Roeder will be without midfielder David Bell for their trip to the Midlands. The summer arrival from Luton has an ankle problem and is expected to be joined on the sidelines by Adam Drury. The full-back has been struggling with a hamstring complaint and is unlikely to be risked. Gary Doherty (ankle) is out for three months while Ryan Bertrand is a doubt after picking up a knock in pre-season. Summer recruits Arturo Lupoli, John Kennedy, Dejan Stefanovic and OJ Koroma could all be handed their Canaries debut. Meanwhile, Troy Archibald-Henville has travelled with the squad after joining on loan from Tottenham, but is not expected to play.
