Sears in contention; concerns for Hornets

Freddie Sears is back in the Coventry City squad for the final game of the season against Watford, who have concerns over several players. On-loan West Ham striker Sears has missed the last two games due to an ankle problem, but is in contention to play in Sunday's clash at the Ricoh Arena. Victory for the Sky Blues - who are winless in 10 - would see them better last season's points total of 54, the tally they currently find themselves on in 16th place. Left-back Martin Cranie recovered from a knee injury to start last weekend's 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough and he should do so again, with Chris Coleman promising to name the strongest XI available to him. That means long-serving defender Marcus Hall can only expect a cameo from the bench as he makes his last appearance for the club before parting ways in the summer having been told he will not be offered new terms. Jonathan Stead (knee), Gary Deegan (ankle), James McPake (groin and knee), Ben Turner (ankle) and Isaac Osbourne (knee) all remain out.

    Watford news

Jay DeMerit, Will Buckley, Heidar Helguson and Ross Jenkins could all miss Watford's final match of the season at Coventry. Centre-half DeMerit is struggling with a stomach injury and midfield duo Buckley and Jenkins have hamstring problems. Helguson, who is due to return to QPR after his loan spell ends, has been rated touch and go by manager Malky Mackay. With the Hornets safe from relegation following last Saturday's 3-0 win over Reading, Mackay has no need to take any risks with their fitness. Mackay is considering adding academy duo Piero Mingoia and Gavin Massey to his squad. Arsenal's Henri Lansbury also plays the final game of his season-long loan.
