Crewe v Crawley Town preview

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Crewe and Crawley Town at the Alexandra Stadium.

Crewe will continue to monitor captain David Artell as they prepare to host the Red Devils. Artell underwent an injection to ease his persistent Achilles problem this week and is hoping to retain his place at centre-back. Fellow defender Ashley Westwood is back in contention after serving the final game of a three-match suspension when the Railwaymen drew 1-1 at Northampton last weekend. Luke Murphy is set to add to boss Steve Davis' midfield options after returning to fitness. Murphy was initially ruled out of the win over Hereford in Alex's last outing at Gresty Road and a knock to his knee meant his recovery did not progress sufficiently enough to be included at Sixfields. Leaders Crawley will be unchanged for the trip. Boss Steve Evans has no injury worries and will name the same team which thumped Burton 3-0 last weekend to move three points clear at the top. Town's form is so good - they have won their last five matches and are unbeaten in 14 - that club captain Pablo Mills cannot break into the side and will be on the bench once again. Evans will have to make a change for their next game against Gillingham on Boxing Day, though, as midfielder Andy Drury plays the last match of his three-month loan spell from Ipswich on Saturday. Drury has yet to taste defeat in 14 appearances for Crawley, who want to sign him permanently in January.
