Highlights of the Sky Bet League Two match between Dagenham & Redbridge and Barnet.

Barnet boss Martin Allen was delighted there were no signs of ring rust as they beat their London rivals Dagenham 2-0.

The Bees had not played since January 23, but took the lead in the 24th minute after a superb solo goal from Luke Gambin.

Michael Nelson doubled their advantage in the 70th minute, converting Chris Hackett's cross unmarked at the back post.

In truth, Barnet perhaps should have won the game by a greater margin, but found Daggers keeper Mark Cousins in inspired form as he pulled off a string of saves.

But Allen was pleased his team were able to get a win after three weeks off, although he did admit the game was not the greatest spectacle.

"It's been three weeks since we've had a game, but in between the players have trained very hard," he said.

"It's nice to see the players who have trained very hard and it was good to see them back out there.

"All credit to the staff for keeping them fit and sharp. It's another clean sheet for our team, which after the Northampton game was a priority.

"That's four clean sheets, but we didn't create too many chances today. It probably wasn't fantastic for our supporters to watch, but it was better to go with the two up top today.

"It's different for us and again it was good to get another youth-team player from last season onto the pitch."

For his opposite number John Still, it was a difficult afternoon against his former club as the hosts never looked capable of scoring.

The defeat also sees the Daggers plummet to the foot of the table, where they are four points adrift of Yeovil, their next opponents at home.

And Still will be hoping for better from that game, and at Mansfield next weekend, after a performance he labelled as the worst of his third tenure in charge.

"Since I've been back here, I think that was the worst performance that we've put in," said Still.

"I thought we were very good in the week against Wycombe and very good at home to Northampton, but I thought we had no consistent tempo about our game against Barnet.

"I thought the first goal we gave away was really poor defending. I felt were up against it, sometimes you can be behind and be the dominant team, but we never looked like being dominant.

"Our play was patchy, if we got the ball to Oliver Hawkins and got in around him, we looked like we might create something.

"I was a bit disappointed, not with the effort, but we just needed that extra touch of quality at times."
