Patrice Evra has now fully adapted to life in England with Manchester United after a difficult start to his time in the Premier League.
Evra moved to Old Trafford from Monaco in January 2006 to provide Gabriel Heinze with competition at left-back and, despite a shaky start, he is now a key member of Sir Alex Ferguson's first choice defence.
However at international level his chances have been limited due to the impressive displays of Eric Abidal and he only played one game in France's qualification campaign for this summer's tournament.
And he is once again set to warm the bench in Austria and Switzerland, although he can pat himself on the back as he has forced Arsenal defender Gael Clichey out of France's squad.
Evra has had an interesting journey to Old Trafford after starting his professional career in Italy with Marsala before joining Serie B side Modena, for whom he made only three appearances.
It is at Manchester United, though, that he has made his name and, with Abidal stating his intention to become a central defender, it looks like Evra will eventually get his chance to be Les Bleus' first choice left back, just probably not this summer.
