Daniel Anderson is now a back-up player in the Sweden squad after being a regular in the side for years before.
The 30-year-old was handed his international debut in 1997 against Thailand and although he has close to 50 caps for his country he has still to score for them.
Andersson began his career at Malmo before moving to Italy with Bari and during six seasons in Italy he had spells at Venezia, Chievo and Ancona.
His failure to impress in Italy held up his international chances and Anderson dropped out of favour for a while.
Andersson returned to Malmo in 2004 from Ancona and his performances saw him win a recall to the international set-up.
He may not be a first choice in the side, but he is reliable performer when called upon by Lars Lagerback.
Euro 2008 will be Andersson's fourth major tournament with Sweden and he has won over 60 caps for his country.
