Torres: Will Liverpool fans be cheering on Spain?

With no Home Countries to support at Euro 2008, football fans are looking for reason to back those teams competing in Austria and Switzerland.

We would like to know who you are looking to cheer on at the finals.

Will you be going for a team with a strong contingent from your favourite Premier League or SPL side?

With Cristiano Ronaldo in the Portugal side, Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas representing Spain and Michael Ballack skippering Germany, is that enough to see you get behind those nations?

Could this be the year of the underdog again? Will you be backing the tournament's surprise package?

What about the host nations? Will you be supporting Austria or Switzerland?

Jacob Cassap (Portsmouth fan) says...

I'm supporting The Netherlands because they're a really strong team and I think they might actually win. They have only won it once and I think they should get to hold Europen Cup. Sadly England dont deserve it because they didnt even qualify COME ON HOLLAND!!!

Robert Yellis (Liverpool fan) says...

I also will support Turkey. They are not a great team but they are young, passionate and give everything they have on the field. Its hard to win against a team that doesnt think of losing, even if they are behind.Their desire of winning is so exciting.Go Turkey.....

Kevin Pajor (Tottenham Hotspur fan) says...

Since England didn't qualify, I decided to go for Holland--underdogs against Italy and France, exciting football, and have always liked Ruud. Good to see I've made the right pick. All the way!

Joy Joy (Chelsea fan) says...

No matter how Germany is my choice. I hope that Captain Ballack will lead his team to the final.

Dawinderpal Sahota (Manchester United fan) says...

It has to be Croatia, anyone with a penchant for the underdog can relate; they must be the most underrated team in the tournament. Bilic is more charismatic than most managers out there, and tactically astute too, just ask our old friend Steve McClaren. Their most talented players are plying their trade in the Premiership, such as Kranjkar, Corluka and Modric, and hopefully one or two may be joining them soon (hopefully Bilic). With their talisman - Arsenal goal-sniper Eduardo Da Silva - sidelined from a reckless tackle courtesy of a Brum defender, I think its ok for us to get over the bitterness we may feel towards them and extend a hand of sympathy. Plus, the fact that they demolished the Germans is enough to win me over¿

I'd love to see Holland go all the way. They're playing 'Shecxy' football as Ruud put it and just look the most confident. Also, i have money on them so that swings it for me.Why doesn't Van Persie play like this for Arsenal?Take note Mr Wenger......

I am supporting Portugal, and no it's not because Ronaldo plays for them!! I think they are a quality team, with world class players. They have a great attacking force, they were unlucky last time, i think it's there time.

Thomas Dexter (Aston Villa fan) says...

As England are not taking part then my second team will have to be spain, they play some realy good football and the team who deserve to win something. They have some of the best players in the world, with torres and villa upfront they wont have to worry with goals almost a certancy. Go On Spain !!!

Matt Pusey (Tottenham Hotspur fan) says...

Holland all the way. They absolutely spanked Italy and France. Sneijder is pure class with the goals he's scored, Van Der Vaart is a rock in midfield, Van Der Sar is one of the best keepers in the world and with a manager like Marco van Basten in charge they can't fail. By far the best squad in the tournament. Go Holland!

Kevin Brown (Manchester United fan) says...

I will be going for Romania and Holland. I would like to see the Dutch win as they havnt won much in a while. But Romania are my prefered choice. I think there a great nation as a team and I wish the best for them. I really hope Italy, France, Germany or Portugal dont win as they have had there success in recent years. Or Near-success at that. Comeon Romania!:D

Steve Baines (Arsenal fan) says...

I'm supporting Russia. Why? Because my girlfriend's Russian, so I'm still at least a little involved.

Posted 14:25 14th June 2008

Niall Groome (Everton fan) says...

What about Croatia? Good team and off the back of a win over the favourites, I'm thinking they can sneak their way to the finals.
