    SPFL: Falkirk v Rangers preview

Image: Ian Black: A doubt for Rangers trip to Falkirk

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has doubts over midfielder Ian Black and full-back Richard Foster for the game at Falkirk on Friday night.

The pair were forced off with calf injuries during the opening-day defeat by Hearts last Sunday.

Striker Jon Daly (knee) remains sidelined but centre-back Bilel Mohsni is back in the squad following his suspension for a red card in a pre-season friendly at Derby.

McCoist told the club's website: “The big fella is back in the group for the game. It was a sore lesson for him and we’ll just keep our fingers crossed it won’t happen again.

“I think he has taken our thoughts on board. I’m loathe to tempt fate and get carried away because he’s a very temperamental character but he loves his football, he loves the club and he loves playing here so he comes back into the squad.”

Botti Bia-Bi earned Falkirk a point against Cowdenbeath on Saturday as they began the season with a 2-2 draw but manager Peter Houston has been cagey with regard to his team selection.

Regardless of the team he puts out though, he has told his players to respect but not fear their opponents.

“I watched their last couple of games against Hibs and Hearts – they were fortunate against Hibs and when Hearts went ahead on Sunday they lost their confidence a little, but responded strongly,” Houston told the Falkirk Herald.

“They’ll be a tough nut to crack and have a lot of experienced players but we shouldn’t fear anything.

“It’ll be a challenge and it’s always a big occasion when one of the Old Firm come to town.”
