King out for Gills; Beevers faces late fitness test

In-form Gillingam tackle mid-table Lincoln City at Priestfield in League Two on Tuesday night. Mark Stimson's Gillingham will be without defender Simon King for the visit of Lincoln. The Gills moved up to fourth after their third successive win against Exeter on Saturday but they will have to do without King against the Imps as the ever-present centre-back serves a one-match ban after being booked for the fifth time this season at Port Vale last week. King's absence will mean a return to the starting line-up for Garry Richards, who was left on the bench on Saturday despite returning from a three-match ban, with midfielder Mark Bentley continuing alongside him. Loan signing Jaime Peters is pushing for more involvement after being restricted to a six-minute substitute cameo against Exeter, while fellow new arrival Rene Steer is pushing John Nutter for the left-back role. Striker Gary Mulligan is facing a late fitness test on his back injury but even if he is passed fit he is unlikely to depose Dennis Oli from the starting line-up after he put in another fine performance on Saturday. Winger Albert Jarrett (ankle) and striker Mark McCammon (back) both returned to training late last week and are set to feature for the reserves on Wednesday, while skipper Barry Fuller is still recovering from pneumonia.

Lincoln team news

Lincoln are waiting on the fitness of defender Lee Beevers as they prepare to face League Two rivals Gillingham. Beevers suffered a dislocated shoulder in the Imps' 1-1 draw with Chester on Saturday and is rated as 50/50 for the clash having been rested on Sunday and Monday. New singing Moses Swaibu, who made the bench at the weekend, is likely to take the place of Beevers should he be ruled out. Fellow defender Paul Green is still unavailable as he serves the last of a three-game ban, while striker Ben Wright's continued absence due to a hamstring injury means Geoff Horsfield and Anthony Elding will again start in attack. The Imps have drawn their last four games to sit 12th in League One, and have won just two League games since October.
