Anthony Ujah scored his first goal for Werder Bremen as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Hertha Berlin on Friday evening.
Valentin Stocker gave Hertha, who started their Bundesliga campaign with a 1-0 win at Augsburg last weekend, a deserved early lead, but Ujah levelled somewhat against the run of play after 26 minutes.
Bremen grew in confidence and had chances to snatch victory late on when Sebastian Langkamp headed against his own crossbar and Jannik Vestergaard hit the post with a header, but a draw was ultimately a fair result.
Hertha will likely lose top spot on Saturday, but get to sit at the top of the standings at least for a night by extending their unbeaten start to the season.
