The full-time whistle goes and it's Leicester who have claimed the points after holding off United's second-half fightback. Stay with us for a full match report and reaction from both camps.
Three minutes of injury time will be played and it's a corner for the visitors. They are sure to send everyone forward.
Not long left in this one. United only have a few minutes left to protect their seven-game unbeaten run.
It's a frantic end to the match here. United are pressing for an equaliser, but City's young defence is holding out.
Free-kick for the home side after Wellens is felled by Geary. Just ten minutes of normal time left in this one.
Evans' low drive is comfortable for Weale. There was just not enough purchase on his shot. Can Leicester hang on?
Third and final switch for the visitors with Evans replacing Montgomery. It's an attacking switch for United. Evans is a handful when fit.
The ball breaks kindly for Fryatt. He is through on goal, opts against finding Dyer, and rolls a shot wide of the far post. Decent chance for the home side.
Cresswell nods the ball down for Camara, although his ambitious bicycle kick is off target. Great technique, but he's unable to test Weale.
Fine save by Weale to deny Ward. He had time and space in the penalty area, but his lofted shot was palmed over for a corner.
Oh so nearly. A superb free-kick is floated into Leicester's penalty area and Cresswell was just inches from giving the visitors an equaliser. It's end to end here.
Howard does well to work himself some space in the penalty area, however, Bunn was well-placed to make a fine save away to his right. There are sure to be more goals in this one!
The home side seemed to have settled following that blistering start to the second half from United. They were on the back foot for a moment.
It's been an exciting second half here and Blackwell's troops are right in this having pulled a goal back so early in the half.
Superb save from Bunn to deny Dyer. The pacey striker was away down the left-hand side and only a fine save kept out his driven shot.
Oh so nearly. Camara twists and turns in the penalty area before hitting the side netting. Half the ground thought it was in.
Camara is proving a handful for Leicester. The visitors now have a corner. Leicester's young defence is being given a stern test.
Second change for the visitors with Geary replacing Walker. I'm not sure how Walker has lasted this long. Blackwell will be crossing his fingers Geary comes through this game after a string of injuries.
At the other end Bunn clutches onto Dyer's long-range effort that took a deflection on route to the visitors' keeper.
Camara turns the ball home with an instinctively finish. Within minutes of the re-start the visitors are right back in the game.
Leicester are making a change of half-time with youngster O'Neill coming on for Hobbs at the back. The Blades are making a change as well with striker Henri Camara coming on for left-back Taylor. An interesting switch there. Walker stays on for United, but he is still moving rather awkwardly.
Montgomery is caught by Howard. I think the referee might book him once play stops. We'll see what happens.
Free-kick for United in a dangerous area after Walker is upended by Dyer. Can the visitors make this count?
Chance for Leicester at the back post with Oakley lashing wide at the far post, although the off-side flag was up.
It looks like United have changed their formation and gone to an orthodox 4-4-2, giving Cresswell more support up front.
Fryatt takes it and scores by sending Bunn the wrong way! It's all gone wrong for The Blades. 2-0 to Pearson's troops.
Penalty for Leicester after Fryatt is felled in the penalty area by Montgomery. Contact looked minimal, but it's been given.
United scramble the ball away after Dyer's burst of speed gets him into the penalty area. Kilgallon is looking the visitors' best defender at the moment.
Cresswell is just looking a little isolated up front on his own at the moment. Leicester boss Pearson will be happy with this.
The ball eventually drops to Stewart following a bit of head tennis, but he blazes his shot well over.
Oakley swings in a right-footed corner and when Bunn misses his interception Morrison bravely heads home from close range. Foxes in front.
Dyer cuts onto his right-foot and only a superb block from Kilgallon prevents Bunn from making a save.
At one end Leicester are appealing for a penalty. Nothing is given allowing the visitors to break which results in Ward lashing a shot wide of Weale's far post.
From the resulting corner nearly an own goal by the visitors. Montgomery hacked at the ball and only diverted it towards his own goal, but Bunn was en guard to make the save.
Walker is carrying on for the visitors, however, he is not moving freely and it would not surprise me if he is replaced soon.
Little to report of in terms of action at the moment, although Leicester are coming into the game a little more following a sluggish start.
Walker has taken a knock on his ankle and I'm not sure he'll be able to carry on. It looks like he's twisted his ankle. I'll keep you updated on his progress.
Woeful defending gifts the ball to Harper and he cuts the ball back at pace, however, no one is on hand to stab home.
Weale spilled the ball after clashing with his own defender, however, no one from Blackwell's side was on hand to capitalise on the mistake.
Hobbs is moving rather gingerly following that challenge with Stewart, although he should be okay to carry on.
Early chance for the visitors. Stewart gets the better of Hobbs, but his right-footed shot is straight at Weale.
Sheffield United get the game underway! Both teams can make huge strides towards the top with a Boxing Day win.
Leicester are going with their tried and trusted 4-4-2 formation while The Blades are going with a 4-5-1 with Cresswell leading the line for Kevin Blackwell's side.
