Foxes out to put paid to Swans' cup dreams

Leicester and Swansea, who are locked together in the Championship table, turn their attentions to the FA Cup on Saturday. The Foxes will enter the third round contest buoyed by back-to-back victories in the league and the memories of a 2-1 success over the Swans on the opening day of the season. The Welsh outfit will be hoping to avoid a repeat of that outcome this time around, but they have won only two of their last seven fixtures and could be in for a tough afternoon in the East Midlands.

Leicester news

Full-back Bruno Berner is a serious doubt for Leicester ahead of the weekend encounter. The Swiss defender, who has made 18 appearances this season and scored two goals, has been struggling with a calf injury and will be monitored during the run-up to the match. Should Berner fail to prove his fitness, 19-year-old Ryan McGivern could deputise in defence after Manchester City gave permission for him to play in the cup. The postponement of their clash with Doncaster on Monday has allowed the squad to recover from any minor knocks. Defenders Wayne Brown and Jack Hobbs are in contention for starting places after shaking off leg injuries. On-loan striker Martyn Waghorn is the only certain absentee as he serves the last of his three-game ban for being sent off against Bristol City.
Swansea news
Albert Serran, Angel Rangel and Lee Trundle are all available for Swansea's trip to the Walkers Stadium. Serran was sent off in Monday's goalless draw with Crystal Palace but has since had his red card rescinded by the Football Association of Wales while fellow defender Rangel has recovered from illness to put himself in contention for a place in the squad. Bristol City striker Trundle is also eligible to feature after extending his loan spell at the Liberty Stadium until the end of the season. Captain Garry Monk, who had been sidelined with a calf problem since the end of October, should again be available after coming off the bench to make a successful comeback from injury against Palace.
