Ten-man Paris St Germain slumped to their second defeat of the season as they were beaten 2-0 at Toulouse, who moved above them into second place in Ligue 1.

Yann Bodiger netted the opening goal in the 48th minute from the penalty spot after PSG's Serge Aurier had been dismissed for a second yellow card.

Jimmy Durmaz's cool finish made sure of the points 11 minutes from time as the home side secured their first win over the champions in seven years.

PSG came into this match on the back of two league victories in which they had scored nine goals without reply. But that form was not in evidence in the first 20 minutes as, despite monopolising possession, their build-up play was too slow, with too many passes going astray.

The frustration showed in the 24th minute as Aurier received his first yellow card for a late challenge on Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont.

As the half wore on they gradually built up a head of steam and created the first real chance of the match on the half-hour mark.

A Lucas Moura cross fell to Edinson Cavani in the area, but the striker's right-footed effort was well kept out by the feet of Lafont.

Cavani, who had scored five goals in his previous two games, had another chance four minutes before half-time, but his header from Maxwell's ball in was again well saved by Lafont.

With Toulouse creating little in the first half it seemed as if they would need a moment of brilliance or a mistake from PSG to score - and they got the latter just after the restart.

PSG right-back Aurier, signed from Toulouse in the summer, had looked nervous all match. Already on a booking, he inexplicably pulled down Ola Toivonen in the box for a clear spot-kick and second yellow card.

Bodiger made no mistake with the penalty, finding the right bottom corner with his left foot.

A man down, PSG failed to find the fluency they had toward the end of the first half and struggled to find any momentum.

Boss Unai Emery brought on Javier Pastore and Thiago Motta in an attempt to find a way back into the game, but it was no surprise when Toulouse added a second goal in the 79th minute.

It came from another mistake from PSG, as Motta gave the ball straight to Durmaz, who had a clear run on goal.

One on one with PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, the summer signing from Olympiakos calmly placed the ball into the bottom left corner with his left foot to wrap up victory.
