Granada goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa left his parent club Malaga red faced with a starring role in a 1-1 derby draw at La Rosaleda on Friday.

Ochoa, on a season-long loan at Granada, had been allowed to play in the Andalusian derby and it was a decision which came back to haunt Malaga.

Skipper Ignacio Camacho gave Malaga a 24th-minute lead, but the hosts failed to turn their dominance into goals and were punished when Artem Kravets levelled nine minutes from time.

Granada were buoyed by their first win of the season against Sevilla last weekend and started in confident fashion.

Brazilian striker Andreas Pereira, on loan from Manchester United, fired narrowly wide but Granada were punished when the unmarked Camacho converted Roberto Rosales' cross.

Mikel Villanueva almost doubled the lead eight minutes later when he was left unattended from Juanpi's free-kick, but Ochoa produced a fine reflex stop on his line.

Javier Ontiveros fired just wide and Malaga continued to dominate after Kravets had headed into the side netting.

And Malaga paid for their profligacy as substitute Alberto Bueno's excellent free-kick allowed Kravets to rise above Diego Llorente to level.

Llorente almost made amends with a point-blank header, but Ochoa was again in the right place to block.

Then in the dying seconds, Llorente had the ball in the net but he was wrongly adjudged offside and Granada held on to claim a welcome point.
