Clock ticking down and both sides appear to have had enough. They want to get out of here and enjoy their Christmas. Don't blame them, this result was wrapped up a long time ago.
One-two between Sterling and Suarez, but Fulham have numbers back. They look to spring forward once in possession, but a Riise pass towards Berbatov is cut out by Johnson. Allen then hacks a Frei cross to safety.
Gerrard over the corner, but Agger can't connect with the delivery. Sterling sends the ball back into the Fulham box, but the Cottagers are able to clear their lines.

Dejagah dives into a challenge on Enrique. He was never going to win the ball coming in from the side and is rightly shown a yellow card. Suarez takes the free-kick, which works its way to Gerrard. He sees an effort from close range blocked by the legs of Schwarzer.
Schwarzer given a dodgy back-pass from Riether. He does well to deal with a bouncing ball and volley upfield. Sums up Fulham, as they have struggled with the basics throughout.
Baird over a free-kick for Fulham. He whips the ball into the heart of the penalty area, but a red shirt is able to rise highest through a crowd of bodies. Liverpool take the opportunity to slow things down again.
Stray pass from Johnson, intended for Downing. Liverpool do, however, make their way into the box. Sterling goes down under pressure, but ie waved to his feet.
Downing delivers from the set-piece. Skrtel rises in the middle. He gets a touch to the ball, but glances it behind for a goal kick. Better from Fulham as they had everyone picked up.
Another change being readied by Liverpool, with Allen about to enter the fray. On the park, Sterling is racing through midfield. He plays a one-two with Shelvey, before seeing a half-volley deflected behind off Hughes.
Johnson unable to combine with Downing. Fulham struggling again now to get out of their own half. They have thrown in the towel. Suarez breaks in behind the Cottagers again, but the ball skips away from him and through to Schwarzer.

Karagounis allowed to trot through midfield, but then has to turn when faced with a red wall. Also no way through for Rodallega, who claims a foul but gets nothing.
Dejagah trying to be too clever. Now is not the time for flicks and tricks. Liverpool still in charge of this game, but they have taken their foot off the gas.
Enrique picks out another darting run from Suarez. He can't collect and pick out a team-mate. Lucas then wins the ball back and powers forward. Suso's cross is glanced clear by Hangeland.
Berbatov slides a pass towards Dejagah, but Enrique shows good strength to get across his man and emerge with the ball. Fulham come again, but Frei's ambitious effort from distance ends up in the stands.
Gerrard's delivery is sent long to the back post. Skrtel arrives unchallenged but, from a tight angle, can only nod back into the grateful arms of Schwarzer.
Enrique on the move again. Fulham with plenty of bodies behind the ball. Enrique is tripped by Dejagah. Another chance for Liverpool to send the big men up from the back.
Rare nervy moment for the Liverpool defence as Dejagah makes headway inside the penalty area. His low cross is palmed out by Reina, before Johnson hacks clear. Riise then lines up a 25-yard rocket, but drills low into a crowd of players.
Rodallega halted by Skrtel. Here come Liverpool again. Downing can't deliver on this occasion, with a scuffed cross easily cut out. Fulham look to counter.
Suarez drifts into space again. He tries to do too much and ends up surrounded by white shirts. He can't get in a cross, but prevents Fulham from knocking the ball long. The Cottagers do eventually move forwards, but Dejagah loses possession on the edge of the box.
Better from Frei as he looks to get at Liverpool. He is all right foot, though, and Lucas can nudge the ball behind for a corner. Rodallega rises unmarked to challenge for the set-piece, but he can't get high enough to get a telling touch.
Berbatov skips away from Lucas, with a great first touch leaving the Brazilian in his wake. Hangeland then moves forward, but goes wide to Frei - who is marked - rather than continue towards the box.

Richardson looking for space, but is forced backwards. Liverpool soon back in possession, with Downing surging down the right.
Gerrard goes short from the corner, before feeding the ball back to Enrique. His hanging cross tempts Schwarzer, and the Fulham keeper gets another of a hand on the ball to see it away from danger. Liverpool still asking questions, with Schwarzer claiming another floated cross.
Poor clearance from Hangeland goes straight to Shelvey. His floated cross is nodded clear by Hughes. Enrique fires over another cross, which Hangeland again fails to deal with. Suarez breaks into the box and forces a corner.
Rodallega appears to run the ball out of play, but the game is allowed to continue. Fulham go long again through Riise and force a throw deep in Liverpool's half. Berbatov is then crowded out on the edge of the box.
Johnson invited to cut inside onto his left foot. Dangerous, as he knows how to hit a ball. He opts against shooting, but the ball squirts out towards Suarez. He arrives unmarked at the back post, but volleys wide of the target.
Fulham now have two to aim at up top, which should help to peg Liverpool back slightly. The Reds have, however, slipped back into their passing stride.
Fulham get the second half underway, once Suarez and Reina have finally made their way back onto the field.

Liverpool 2 Fulham 0. The hosts comfortably in front at the interval. Fulham have been very poor and Martin Jol needs to put a rocket up them if they are to avoid a hammering.

Downing able to drift onto his left foot, but he decides against a cross. Suso doesn't collect his pass very well and ends up conceding a free-kick as Baird nicks the ball off his toe.
Shelvey back on his feet and should be okay to continue. He is a bit rattled after taking a tumble, but has half-time approaching to catch his breath. Fulham trying to get something going, but lack movement and options.
Johnson moving forward with intent again. He is able to pick out a run from Suarez, who stays onside this time. He is forced wide and can't beat Schwarzer at his near post. Shelvey is down and requires treatment.
Easy for Liverpool to work the ball from side to side. Enrique then wins a throw. Fulham pull everyone back. The hosts in no rush to push for a third.
Fulham go all the way back to Schwarzer again, who has to go long. Liverpool collect and move forward. A pattern is emerging here, why can't the Cottagers see it?
Suarez chases a long ball down the Liverpool left, forcing Hangeland into a hasty back-pass. Schwarzer's volleyed clearance isn't the best. Liverpool move the ball well, and onto Suso just inside the box. He drags a shot across goal and wide of the post. Should have done better.
Gerrard pulled up for a trip ton Karagounis. He disagrees with the decision. Liverpool soon have the ball back. Fulham offering no indication that they are prepared to bust a gut in order to find a way back into this tie.
Berbatov collects, but he is miles from goal and has three red shirts around him. He does really well to win a free-kick. as Fulham line up the set-piece, they have one to aim at in the box. When Riise puts the ball into the air, Agger can clear.
Surely Fulham have to change things now. This system isn't working. They have numbers in midfield, but aren't making the most of them. They might as well have another striker on the field.
GOAL LIVERPOOL - GERRARD. Liverpool do double their lead, and do so in style. Brilliant pass from Downing, who spots a run from Gerrard across the box. The Reds captain turns and fires across Schwarzer into the bottom corner.
Hangeland strides out from the back, but the ball bounces straight back at him. Liverpool happy once again to keep the ball on halfway, without looking to attack.
Very quiet inside Anfield. The action on the field is giving them little to get excited about at the moment. Liverpool on top and happy to hold what they have, while looking to build on their lead when gaps open up.

Suso fells Karagounis wide on the Fulham right. Opportunity for them to load the box and test Liverpool from a set-piece. Richardson's delivery is good, swinging towwards the back post, but has too much height on it and drifts behind for a goal kick.
Suarez turning and running at Fulham again. He slides a great reverse pass into the feet of Suso. He can't bring the ball under control, with Riether doing well to get back and toe the ball into the path of Schwarzer.

Liverpool playing keep-ball in midfield. Fulham need to press higher and try and win the ball back in a promising position. Richardson then bundles over Downing 35 yards from goal.
Nice football from Liverpool involving Skrtel, Gerrard and Suarez. The latter is able to spin and face the target. Suarez's shot from 25 yards is not the best and trickles harmlessly wide of the post.
Enrique does well defensively this time as he clears a dangerous cross from Kacaniklic. Karagounis collects and finds Berbatov. Fulham go wide agaub, but Kacaniklic is unable to find a route past Johnson.
No need to pick men up as Gerrard's delivery is poor and is hammered clear at the front post by Berbatov. Liverpool still pressing, though, and a high ball to the back post is met by Skrtel. His header has to be dealt with by Schwarzer.
Johnson with a great take on his chest, before running at Riise. The Fulham full-back is forced to concede a corner. Will Fulham pick up their men from this set-piece?
Dejagah picks Enrique's pocket, and is tripped as he tries to set off down the right wing. Fulham forced backwards again and the ball ends up at the feet of Schwarzer.
Fulham still trying to play their way out. Fair play to them for trying, but they can't reach halfway. They have to go long down their right, handing the ball back to Liverpool. Jol still barking out instructions on the sidelines.

Kacaniklic settles for a throw as he is crowded out on the Fulham left. The Cottagers still struggling to get out of their own half at the moment. The ball just keeps coming back at them.
Great ball from Enrique as he swings a pass forward from halfway. Shelvey watches the ball dropping over his shoulder, but can't bring it under his spell.
How will Fulham respond to falling behind? It's very early to go to Plan B, but they haven't offered anything so far.
GOAL LIVERPOOL - SKRTEL. ANother corner that Fulham fail to deal with and they are made to pay. Gerrard's delivery drops to Skrtel 10 yards from goal and he makes no mistake as he powers a volley past Schwarzer.
Driven cross from Enrique towards the edge of the box is only half-cleared. Downing picks the ball up on the right wing and his cross almost finds Shelvey. The ball misses him, but deflects behind for a corner.

Long ball from Hangeland towards Berbatov is easily dealt with by Agger. Not the best way to get the Bulgarian into the game, especially as he is on his own up there. He needs the ball into feet.
Liverpool looking to give as many players as possible a touch early on. Fulham happy to sit deep and make sure they get numbers behind the ball.
Liverpool, like everywhere else it seems, has taken a soaking today so the pitch will be nice and slick. Should suit both sides, with their plenty of ball-players on show today. Could, however, be a tough evening for keepers.

Jonny Outram is hoping the hosts are in the mood this evening. He says: 'Entirely depends on the Liverpool attack today, if they perform 2-0 win. If they don't 0-0. Can't see Fulham scoring as we have enough pace and the system to cope with Berbatov.'
Max Cohen sees the visitors taking something from this contest. He says: 'I fancy Fulham to grind out a 1-1 draw. Dejagah scoring a powerful header from a set piece and Suarez grabbing one. Come on Fulham!!!'
