FULL TIME: Hearts caused a real scare at Anfield tonight and were on course to take the tie to extra-time when David Templeton's speculative effort was spilled into his own net by Pepe Reina. But the Reds hit back immediately as Andy Webster's slip allowed Luis Suarez to race clear of Marius Zaliukas before slotting the ball beyond Jamie MacDonald at his near post.
Just as we were looking to go into extra-time, Hearts concede a soft goal really, allowing Suarez to find the angle on his shot.
What a sensational couple of minutes here at Anfield as Suarez races away from Marius Zaliukas before superbly slotting the ball beyond Jamie MacDonald at his near post.
Amazing scenes at Anfield! Hearts are level on aggregate as Templeton's right-foot strike from long-range is fumbled into the net by Pepe Reina.
Raheem Sterling brings down David Templeton on the edge of the box and this is a real chance for Hearts.
Dave Norminton emails me to say: "Raz, I'm not sure where Liverpool's goals are going to come from this season!"
YELLOW CARD: Darren Barr is booked for a nasty looking challenge on Joe Allen. A bit of payback from the Jambos on the midfielder.
Hearts should have had a free-kick on the edge of the Liverpool box as Joe Allen's tackle from behind on Dale Carrick was late.
@SDCrees Tweets: "Praying for a Liverpool win. Come on lads let's put one in the back of the net. And thanks for keeping me updated on the match."
SUBSTITUTIONS: Dale Carrick replaces Arvydas Novikovas for Hearts while Fabio Borini comes on for Jordan Henderson for Liverpool.
Martin Skrtel's header is superbly saved, but the defender was standing in an offside position in any case.
Taking into consideration the wage bill between the sides, the Jambos have done amazingly over both legs.
Pete - a celtic fan, is proud of Hearts tonight. He says: "I would just like to say that hearts av done themselfs and scotland proud regardless wat the score is. WELL DONE."
Steven Gerrard's crisp right-foot piledriver is wide of the far post. What a good effort from the Reds skipper!
SO CLOSE! Just seconds later Suarez collects the ball and rifles his left-foot shot inches wide of the far post.
OFF THE POST! Jordan Henderson's through ball splits the Hearts defence and Luis Suarez is through, but instead of hitting the target, the striker takes his time before seeing his shot hit the near post with Jamie MacDonald doing well to close the angle.
Real pressure from Liverpool here as Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard combine for Raheem Sterling, but his cross is poor.
Loving the word 'gumption' Gavin. That's a real Scottish word isn't it? And yes, you're right, Hearts have done Scotland proud as Brendan Rodgers looks to the bench and in particular, the talents of Raheem Sterling, who is now warming up.
@gav05 Tweets me to say: "Regardless of what the result may be, Hearts have played with real gumption, they have done Scotland proud!"
Hearts fan Llloyd is next to email in and he says: "Raz, impressed at Hearts performance - pity we don't have the resources that Liverpool have."
Liverpool have dominated possession since the start of the second half and Hearts are struggling to keep a hold of the ball.
Tom emails me to say: "My sky go isn't working in Cyprus and I'm going mad! Cheers for keeping me up to date with the game! I say 2-0 Hendo to score 1st."
New Liverpool signing Samed Yesil is up in the stands watching the game. He's only 18-years-old, but the former Bayer Leverkusen forward is thought to be a huge talent.
Now Jonjo Shelvey comes close with as rasping drive from distance, but the ball clears the crossbar by some distance
David Templeton has looked a real danger as Jamie Carragher wins the ball off him with brut strength.
So far, nothing has happened at the start of this second half and as the clock ticks, Hearts will have to commit more players in attack, which should open up space for Liverpool to counter-attack.
Meanwhile, @Quino01 Tweets me to say: "Best of luck to Andy Carroll with the Hammers, now lets hope BR can replace him with someone of quality."
Neil emails me to say: "Impressed by Rodgers talent and non-talent spotting. Allen & Sterling inspired. Spearing and Adam to be shown the door. Bravo Brendon! Pool to break Hearts eventually. 3 second half goals coming right up."
Liverpool are going from left to right in the second half and no signs of any half-time substitutions.

Liverpool are now 4/11 to claim victory with our friends @SKYBET, who make Hearts 12/1 and the draw 5/2. My pre-match prediction of 2-0, which was 9/2, is now 3/1. Head now to SKYBET to place your bets on this match.
HALF-TIME: The Jambos have acquitted themselves well at Anfield and have created the better chances in the first-half. Callum Paterson and David Templeton have looked the most threatening. Meanwhile, Luis Suarez has looked lazy in possession, while 18-year-old forward Adam Morgan has been spritely on the ball and a willing runner.
David Templeton's inswinger is cleared and the home side break in numbers, but Adam Morgan makes a mess of things in trying to keep the ball in play.
The Jambos create another opportunity as David Templeton fires his effort from 25-yards over the crossbar.
At the other end, David Templeton's sumptuous cross is met by John Sutton, but he fails to get any power into his header at the back post.
GOAL DISALLOWED! Adam Morgan thinks he has scored his first senior goal, but it's chalked off because Luis Suarez took the ball over the dead ball line as he crossed for the youngster. Replays show the decision was correct.
Hearts boss John McGlynn is hoping to produce a massive upset at Liverpool tonight and he will be pleased with the way his side have played up to now.
BRILLIANT GERRARD! The Liverpool skipper dances away from a couple of challenges before seeing his left-foot shot saved by the big figure of Jamie MacDonald. That would have been some goal.
At the other end, Adam Morgan's shot is spilled by Jamie MacDonald, but the keeper grabs the ball at the second attempt.
PENALTY SHOUT! Jamie Carragher brings Callum Paterson down in the box, but referee Vladislav Bezborodov thinks the Hearts man makes the most of it.
Apart from the chance for Luis Suarez, the Edinburgh side's chances of overturning a 1-0 deficit are decent.
Real lack of composure from Martin Kelly down the right as his cross is overhit for the oncoming forwards.
Steven Gerrard decided to have a go from distance, but Arvydas Novikovas gets in the way and smashes the ball clear.
David is back in touch and he says: "So much for my thoughts on Carroll, I now hear the season long loan to The Hammers is confirmed! Good luck to the lad."
Hearts have looked dangerous in attack tonight as Mehdi Taouil daisy cutter is easily collected by Pepe Reina this time.
Joe Allen looks to have settled in very nicely at Anfield and is controlling the Reds midfield tonight.
Gaz1979 has Tweeted me in reference to Carroll's protracted move to West Ham. He says: "Appalling treatment of Andy Carroll by Liverpool. If we don't start scoring, Brogers could regret this..."
SO CLOSE! Stewart Downing's wonderful cross finds Steven Gerrard at the back post and he heads the ball back for Luis Suarez, who thinks he has scored from close-range, but Hearts defenders slam the door shut.
Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov is in the stands watching this game, hoping his club can cause a major upset tonight.
Martin Skrtel is taking no chances at the back as he heads clear. The defender will still be having recurring nightmares after his mistake which gifted Manchester City a draw at the weekend.
Callum Paterson is looking busy for Hearts as he unleashes a shot from the edge of the area, but it's well blocked by the nearest defender.
CHANCE! Fine move by Liverpool as the left-wing cross finds Luis Suarez in the box, but the Uruguayan looked to have handled the ball as he eyed a shot on goal. Luckily for Hearts, they manage to clear their lines.
Adam Morgan is a lucky boy as he should really have been booked for a very late looking challenge on Arvydas Novikovas. Referee Vladislav Bezborodov tells him to go away.
CLOSE! Meanwhile, at the other end Luis Suarez shows great feet before his strike at goal is blocked.
FINE STRIKE! Callum Paterson has a pop from long-range with a cracking volley, which is just wide of Pepe Reina's goal.
The Reds are desperate to make the draw for the group stage of the competition with takes place tomorrow at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
Hearts, wearing a changed strip of all-white with maroon strip get the game underway at a packed Anfield.
David says: "I reckon that Carroll was showing glimpses of form towards the end of last season and also for England and that we simply haven't given him enough time. Given what he cost, I think he needs half a season to prove himself, look how long Torres took at Chelsea, they were patient, and he could be the Premier League's top scorer this season."

Riz in Birmingham says: "Very interesting to see that Brenden Rodgers is playing Downing at left-back may be a sign for the future. With Andy Carol not being on the team sheet looks like his on his way out. I hope its a loan move out so he comes back to us stronger and fitter. Good to see young Adam Morgan given a chance, hope he is on the score sheet tonight. Come on you reds."
The Reds are operating a 4-3-3 formation tonight, while Hearts have set up in a familiar 4-4-2 set-up.
Nick Carpenter has emailed in to say: "Finally, a Liverpool manager with some hutzpah. Love the fact that, since he started at Liverpool, he has given youth a chance. Great to see him trying Morgan tonight. Even if it doesn't work out....nothing ventured, nothing gained."
Brendan Rodgers has just said that striker Andy Carroll is in talks with West Ham over a season-long loan move. What are your thoughts Liverpool fans?
Liverpool are 1/6 to claim victory with our friends @SKYBET, who make Hearts 14/1 and the draw 6/1. The Reds' Luiz Suarez is favourite to bag the first goal at 3/1 while new boy Adam Morgan is 4/1. Steven Gerrard is 5/1 to score first while Stewart Downing is a good outside bet at 10/1. Meanwhile, Hearts' John Sutton is 12/1 and David Templeton is 14/1 for the visitors. Callum Paterson is a 20/1 shot to bag the first goal at Anfield tonight. I'm going for a pre-match prediction of 2-0, which is 9/2. Head now to SKYBET to place your bets on this match.
Hearts field the same side that started at Tynecastle last week with captain Marius Zaliukas overcoming a thigh injury.
Meanwhile Liverpool hand a first start to 18-year-old forward Adam Morgan as they looked to protect a 1-0 aggregate lead in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying round play-off. Yet Rodgers' side still had an experienced feel about it as captain Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez, both rested for the first leg, were included.
Andy Carroll misses Liverpool's Europa League qualifier against Hearts at Anfield tonight amid growing reports he was in talks with West Ham. The England striker's future has been the subject of intense speculation since new manager Brendan Rodgers succeeded Kenny Dalglish over the summer. Newcastle have been linked with their former player but the Hammers' reported interest in 23-year-old remains despite attempts by manager Sam Allardyce to play down a move to Upton Park.
