Russ McGill feared his side would be on the end of a beating tonight and he was right while Emmanuel Okala correctly predicted the 3-0 scoreline.
Celtic battled well and were second-best for most of the game but the first two goals really shouldn't have stood as Berbatov was offside for both of them. But Celtic posed little threat going forward and United could have added more goals in the end. United and Villarreal are on seven points but Celtic and Aalborg have just one.
Hartley is almost sent clean through on goal but Evans makes an excellent challenge to deny the substitute.
A superb ball by Rooney finds Tevez in space in behind the Celtic defence on the left. He cuts inside but his shot at goal is blocked by Loovens.
GOAL - It's another goal for Rooney - seven in a row for club and country and this time there's not doubt about it. United hit Celtic on the break and Rooney directs his shot through Loovens' legs and into the bottom corner of the net.
Hartley fouls Nani and then kicks the ball against him as the winger is on the ground and is shown the first yellow card of the game.
Great control by Rooney on the edge of the box before forcing Boruc to tip his powerful shot over the bar.
Ronaldo almost gets on the end of Tevez's cross to the back post but the ball drifts away from the winger and Celtic have possession.
Celtic are making a double change now with Shaun Maloney and Paul Hartley coming on for Robson and Nakamura.
Neville is replaced by Wes Brown while two-goal hero Berbatov reluctantly makes way for Carlos Tevez.
Rooney really should have made it 3-0 after more far from impressive goalkeeping by Boruc. He fails to gather a through ball and the ball rebounds to Rooney but his left-footed shot flies over the bar with Boruc well out of position.
The ball is in the back of the net again but this time the flag does go up against Rooney. This time though he was not in an offisde position!
Boruc has made a number of mistakes for club and country this season and that is another one but as Ronaldo's free-kick was taken, Berbatov was again in an offside position.
GOAL - It's surely all over now and Berbatov has doubled his and United's lead. Boruc fumbles Ronaldo's powerful free-kick and Berbatov is there to tap the ball into the back of the net.

Celtic have forced Van der Sar into two saves with shots from outside the box but United have dominated without creating anything really clear-cut until Fletcher's chance just before the break. But now Celtic must come out and look for an equaliser and that could leave space for United to exploit and extend their lead in the second half.
The half-time whistle goes and United lead 1-0 thanks to a Berbatov goal that should not have been allowed to stand as the Bulgarian was in an offside position when he directed the ball past Boruc.
It should be 2-0 to United. Fletcher is left unmarked at the back post, brings the ball down well but lashes the ball well over the bar.
Nani drifts past Naylor but his cross to the back post is a poor one although Loovens is forced to concede a corner which comes to nothing.
Nakamura's inswinging ball evades everyone in yellow but O'Shea's miskick forces Van der Sar into a save at his near post.
Nani cuts in from the left and his curling effort at goal flies inches wide of Boruc's goal. It's all United, they want a second before the break.
Ronaldo's cross is headed clear by McManus as United look for a second goal which would all-but kill the game at this early stage.
McGeady loses the ball in a dangerous area again but Anderson curls his shot over the bar. McGeady has to be careful that's a few times he's gifted United the ball in a dangerous area.
Celtic are a goal down but looking at it again, Berbatov was in an offside position and the goal should not have stood. United are fortunate to be in front here.
GOAL - Manchester United are in front and it's Berbatov who stabs the ball home from close range. Celtic don't deal with a corner and Berbatov latches onto a rebound before steering the ball past Boruc.
Berbatov's shot is well blocked by McManus and the ball drops to Ronaldo but his shot flashes just wide of Artur Boruc's post.
Barry Robson goes down just outside the box on the Celtic left and it's a free-kick to the visitors.
McGeady cuts in from the right wing but this time his left-footed drive is blocked by Nemanja Vidic.
Berbatov clashes with Mark Wilson in the air and the Celtic man stays down. He is quickly back on his feet though and play resumes.
Celtic go close again, this time it's Caldwell. He volleys the ball at goal from the edge of the box and Van der Sar is forced to tip the ball over the bar. Excellent effort.
Rooney goes for an ambitious side scissor kick at goal but McManus makes a good block. Once again, Naylor was exposed on the United right.
Wayne Rooney finds space on the break but McManus is able to block his shot at the expense of a corner.
Good play there by Celtic but Scot in Fort Lauderdale wants to know why they are wearing a yellow strip. He says "Celtic without their green and white hoops is just not the same".
McGeady comes inside on the edge of the box and his left-footed drive is turned round the post by Edwin Van der Sar, excellent save by the big Dutchman.
Lee Naylor's poor ball is pounced on by Ronaldo but luckily for the defender he manages to get back and deflect the cross out for a corner.
McDonald is bundled over by Johnny Evans and Celtic have a free-kick 35 yards from goal on the left flank.
United are dominating possession at the moment but Ronaldo blasts the ball well over the bar from the edge of the box.
Judging by the emails so far, Celtic fans are expecting a thrashing. It's United on the front foot so far but no chances as yet.
