Man Utd 0 Chelsea 1. Dramatic end to the game sees the Blues take the spoils, offering their top-four bid a welcome shot in the arm. United end the day with 10 men. Arguments still going on.
Last chance for United and Giggs can't play the ball long. Chelsea happy to see it back to Cech, who takes his time with a clearance.
Torres concedes another needless free-kick, this time in his own half. Giggs clips the ball forward, but Torres makes amends by nodding clear. Ramires counters, but is on his own. He cuts in field and sends an ambitious shot well wide.
Jones into Hernandez, who has Cole and Lampard at his back. A combination of that two concede a free-kick. United throw numbers forward, but make nothing of the set-piece.
Torres climbing all over Jones, and concedes a free-kick deep in United territory. Chelsea happy for the ball to be down that end of the field.
Chelsea looking to run down the clock. Mata makes his way slowly from the field to be replaced by Ake. Four minutes stoppage-time to be played.
Rafael finally makes his way down the tunnel. Final change for United is made as Hernandez replaces Valencia.
Tempers boiling over again. Rafael pulled up for a foul, for which he is sent off. Giggs not happy with Oscar asking for a card. Rafael kicked Luiz after the ball had gone. Chelsea man laughing as he goes to ground.
Rooney feels he should have had a free-kick in the build-up to the goal, but he didn't get one and Chelsea lead. Could be a huge goal for them in their top-four quest.
GOAL CHELSEA - MATA. At last we get a goal and it arrives for the visitors. Ramires opts against a shot and finds Oscar. He moves the ball left to Mata, who sees a low drive deflected onto the inside of the post and into the back of the net.
Frustration boils over for Luiz and he is booked for questioning a decision by Webb. He has a point when he says he should have had a throw, but the decision is on halfway and isn't going to influence proceedings greatly. Team-mates quick to calm him down.
Mata sees a shot blocked by Jones. Lampard then sees his route to goal blocked off. Giggs still chasing around putting out fires for United. Chelsea can't pick the lock.
Valencia touches on to Rooney, who moves the ball on to Van Persie. Flag up again. A bit of afters, but it soon blows over. Vidic with another commanding header at the back for United.
Plenty of willing takers for Chelsea. Howard Webb takes an age to get the United wall sorted out. Once he does, Luiz wins the set-piece argument and fires a poor effort high, wide and not very handsome. Sums up the game.
Torres plays the ball off Rafael, who prevents a corner. Lampard then has the ball taken of his toe. Poor clearance from Rafael gifts the ball to Ramires. He gets the ball back and finds Mata on the edge of the box. He is bundled over 20 yards from goal by Evra. Great chance for Chelsea.
Giggs takes the corner, which is touched clear at the near post. Ramires looks to run the ball out for Chelsea. Jones with a cynical shove to prevent the counter. He is booked.
Giggs wide towards Valencia, but the pass is spotted early by Cole. Chelsea then give the ball away. Giggs surges down the right and finds Rafael. He looks to square across the face of goal and Ivanovic deflects the ball into the side-netting.
Mata delivers again. Lindegaard comes again, and wins a free-kick as he is blocked off on his way to getting a hand to the ball. At the other end, Rooney eases Cole out of the way as he challenges for a high ball and concedes a free-kick.
Lampard delivers. Lindegaard caught under the ball and Jones has to nod behind at the back post. Mata takes from the other side. His delivery is met by Lindegaard, who diverts the ball over for another corner.
Rooney through the middle and looks to clip a pass into Van Persie. Ivanovic stands tall for Chelsea. Torres has gone wide right. Lampard with space to operate in and send a cross towards Mata. He misses the ball and Rafael bundles behind.
Flag up against Van Persie. Luiz stepped up at the right time. Torres getting some final instructions and getting his protective mask on. He is introduced in place of Moses.
Rafael felled by Moses. Azpilicueta spoken to by Webb after taking an arm in the face by Buttner. No intent, he puts his arms out to shield the ball. Movement on the Chelsea bench, with Torres stripping off.
Jones with a nice touch into Van Persie, who has drifted wide to the right. He has no options in the middle. United instead go left, with Buttner fed by Evra. His low cross towards the penalty spot is easily dealt with.
Giggs delivers from the set-piece. Cech comes and fists to safety. Rafael nods wide to Giggs once more. Valencia runs past him and stands up a much better delivery. Rooney rises, but is reaching for a header and plants it over the top.
Valencia looks to pick out Rooney on the edge of the box, but puts too much on the pass and plays it in front of his team-mate. He has been very poor today. Chelsea counter, but are soon back-tracking. Rafael bombs forward and Ivanovic has to nod a cross behind for a corner.
Rooney involved for the first time, very deep, as he spreads the ball wide to the right. Vidic almost slips again as he turns away from Mata. He doesn't give the ball away, but Rooney does. Ramires runs off him but sees a low cross deflect into the path of Lindegaard.
Van Persie takes a tug at Cole's shirt. Free-kick to Chelsea. Ivanovic fires long towards Ba, but Vidic is once again the man to rise highest inside the United box. The ball is flicked on to Lindegaard.
Double change by United as Anderson is replaced by Rooney. Huge cheers from the home support for the new arrival. Can he alter the course of this tie?
Vidic able to glance a cross from the Chelsea right away to safety. Anderson lets the ball run, so throw to the Blues. Odd choice from the United man. Brave defending again from Vidic as he dives in for a header. Flag has gone up.
Evra too eager to get at the ball and ends up tripping Mata. Free-kick to Chelsea 25 yards from goal, just right of centre. Mata and Luiz taking an interest. Mata takes and hammers into the wall.
Time for Mata to turn 35 yards from goal. He looks right to Azpilicueta, who hangs over a cross first time. Lindegaard is able to watch the ball comfortably into his grasp. Chelsea try again, but a one-two between Mata and Oscar breaks down.
Moses fails to get the better of Giggs and Jones, but settles for a throw. Still very scrappy at times. Mata ends up gifting United a throw as Chelsea try too much in a tight space.
Giggs has Evra running past him and in field. Valencia freed in space on the right. He jinks onto his right foot, but another poor cross trickles along the ground and into the arms of Cech.
Space for Jones, but he turns backwards. Lack of urgency. United end up going long from halfway, with the ball floated into the hands of Cech. Surely both managers are considering changes?
Cleverley into Rafael, who sees a cross blocked at source by Cole. Throw to United by the corner flag down their right. They go short, before Valencia allows Lampard to hammer clear.
Calm keeping from Cech as he floats a pass over Van Persie to Azpilicueta. Chelsea look to press again. United happy to get men back and make the Blues play around them. They can't, with Oscar squandering possession.
Moses runs around Cleverley and feeds over a low cross. United can hack clear at their near post. Chelsea come again, but yet again a simple pass is sent out of play. Ramires this time firing the ball behind for a goal kick. Changes needed.
Lampard drifts through the middle and finds Cole. He sends the ball back to Mata, who has few options ahead of him. Chelsea keep possession, but Azpilicueta sends another wayward pass out for a throw. Both sides disappointing so far.
Vidic fortunate as a heavy touch almost presents the ball to Ba 30 yards from goal. United are able to keep the ball and piece an attack together. It soon breaks down as Cleverley sends a pass behind Giggs and out of play. Groans from the stands.
Vidic does well to cut across a run down the middle from Mata. United were left open for a moment. Chelsea look to keep the pressure on, but Mata is pulled up for a foul on Rafael. He's not happy with the decision.
Mata runs off Giggs and collects a looping pass from Azpilicueta. He cuts the ball back into the path of Lampard, who hammers high over the top from 12 yards out. Another poor finish to add to the collection in this game.
Valencia skips around Oscar. His cross isn't the best and is hacked clear. United gather on halfway. Evra fails to combine with Cleverley and has to rush back into position. Azpilicueta takes advantage of the space, but Evans cuts out his cross.
United playing their way out, before Evra goes long. Giggs can't compete for a header with two Chelsea defenders. Chelsea also go long, but Lindegaard can step up and gather before Moses poses a threat.
Mata into the path of Lampard. He has Ba inside him, but his final pass is easily cut out. Not the best final ball from the Chelsea skipper. Chelsea win a free-kick in midfield as United fail to get clear. Luiz lines up a very ambitious effort from 45 yards, but then goes wide to Cole, who runs the ball out of play. Sloppy.
Jones nods into the path of Anderson and keeps running. He gets the ball back and gets his head up. He has Van Persie square and unmarked at the back post, but gets his cross all wrong. Goal kick. As Chelsea move forward, Vidic fells Moses and is cautioned.
The set-piece comes to nothing, but Chelsea remain on the ball. Luiz slips past Giggs and into the box. He goes down claiming a penalty, but gets nothing. Giggs had a tug at his shoulder, but outside the box. Chelsea players less than impressed.
Anderson gives Cleverley something to chase, but he is forced backwards and United squander possession. Moses feeds a cross in early from the right, and Evans does well to slide in front of Ba and concede a corner.
Lindegaard goes short to Vidic, but United break down before getting out of their own half. Chelsea quickest to second balls at the moment. Mata then plays a pass out of play for a throw.
Lampard tripped in midfield. Free-kick taken quickly, but United are on their toes. Chelsea work the ball from one side to the other, but Oscar's final ball is not the best. Valencia can spring clear for United and find Van Persie. Flag up.
Moses tussles with Evra and wins a throw down the Chelsea right. He then claims a hand ball against the United full-back, but gets nothing. United go back to front quickly, but Anderson's ball towards Van Persie is well off target.
Benitez still making his way back to his seat, locked in conversation with Torres. He may need the striker if things stay as they are. On the field, Mata finds space but can't pick out Moses.
Matt Slade says: "Giggsy to get the first goal United to go on to win after a fairly standard and boring first half!"
Oli says: "I'm expecting Chelsea to be strong at the start of the 2nd half, with Ba scoring in the 50th minute like last time."
Robbie Cunningham says: "I expect Chelsea to snatch it as they seem to want it just that wee bit more! But never underestimate the Red Devils."
Martin Bishop says: "Not much in this at all....Chelsea slightly ahead on points, but Man U definitely have the better options on the bench - Rooney, Hernandez and Kagawa, whereas the Blues really only have Torres for Ba, straight swap. Game needs a goal to open things up. Watching from Sydney, but worth staying up for!! (2am here!!)."
Peter Taylor says: "I think United are shading it. With Giggs and Anderson playing as they are, I can see United winning this in 2nd half."
Daniel James says: "I'm disappointed right now. I've always had United's back and to see then struggling against Chelsea now is just painful. Score United, score."

Valencia involved again. He exchanges passes with Jones and Anderson. Chelsea stand firm and close all gaps. Vidic ends up well forward and hooking over a cross from the left. Van Persie in acres of space, but plants a header into the arms of Cech.
United stand off Oscar 25 yards from goal. He moves the ball onto his right foot and drags a low shot across the face of goal and wide of the post. Valencia drives United forward and picks out Giggs inside the box. He is under pressure as he volleys wide with the outside of his boot.
Great pass from Giggs towards Van Persie slices Chelsea apart. The Dutchman tries to guide the ball on first time, but goes with his left foot as the ball comes across him and diverts it wide of the upright.
Powerful run from Jones carries him past Cole and to the dead-ball line. He can't cut a cross back enough and Cech is able to drop onto the ball. Luiz, who is capable from distance, tries a spectacular effort, but fires high and wide. Evra limping after his earlier slip.
Scuffed clearance from Lindegaard, but he gets away with it. United are able to race forward with numbers, but Evra slips and hands the ball back to Chelsea. Evans slams the door in the Blues' face.
Good hold up play by Ba as he brings Moses into play. He looks to bundle his way past Jones and ends up handling on the edge of the box. Free-kick to United.
Oscar sells Azpilicueta short, meaning he has to hack clear. United work the ball to Valencia on the right. Still not happening for him as he wastes possession by floating a cross out of play.
Anderson crowded out in midfield. Chelsea in no hurry to get the ball forward on this occasion. Azpilicueta fires over a cross from deep. Lampard gets a touch, but Evans can get across Ba and see the ball behind for a goal kick.
Fantastic touch from Giggs, who then brings Evra into play. United move the ball well, with Anderson slipping one challenge. Giggs thinks he has slipped into space down the left, but the flag goes up. Tight call, and a wrong one looking at the replays.
A pass from Mata towards Ba is cut out by Cleverley. United look to go long quickly for Van Persie. Luiz in the right place for Chelsea. The Blues press and Mata ends up seeing a shot from distance deflect harmlessly through to Lindegaard.
Cleverley catches Mata. Howard Webb has a word, but no more. The United man was late and caught the Chelsea forward. The visitors can make nothing of the free-kick.
Luiz allowed to move forward again, but is then caught out of position as Anderson races forward. He goes wide to Giggs, and his first time cross from the left is pushed away by Cech. Cleverley gathers, but fires a wayward shot from 20 yards out high over the top.
Cleverley with a nice touch into the path of Van Persie. He is one on one with Luiz, but takes too long to set himself and allows Azpilicueta to get back and put in a block. Van Persie gets the ball back, but puts too much on a cross.
Ivanovic and Luiz go for the same ball, but get it clear between them. Luiz then collects a loose ball and trundles across halfway. He is bundled over and Chelsea have to start all over again.
Ivanovic allowed to drift towards halfway and look for support. He ends up going short and wide. Chelsea can't get anything going and Ba ends up tripping Evans in his efforts to make something happen.
Ba nods down for Moses. He touches past Rafael and goes down on the angle of the box. He gets nothing. United take the chance to move forward. Valencia hangs over a high cross which Van Persie is unable to get anything on. Chelsea's turn to counter, with Ba cutting onto his right foot and bending a shot from just inside the box narrowly wide.
Giggs looks to turn back past Azpilicueta, but ends up loosing the ball and sending Chelsea away on the counter. Rafael with a strong challenge to stop Cole in his tracks. Not much room for the Blues to work with down their left.
Jones with a strong challenge on Oscar. He wins the ball, but at the expense of a corner. Mata plays the set-piece short. He finds Oscar, but his low delivery is poor and easily cleared. He has a second try, but fires into the first man. Chelsea keep knocking on the door, with Lampard firing at Lindegaard from 25 yards out.
Oscar twisting and turning, but Van Persie has dropped back to get in his face. United force Chelsea into a loose pass. Plenty of effort on show so far, not too much quality in the final third.
Nice turn by Giggs in midfield. It presents him with a yard of space. He sees Van Persie peeling away to the far post, but Giggs attempted pass doesn't have enough elevation on it. Chelsea push forward and win a throw off Rafael.
Nice football from Chelsea, but they aren't getting very far. That is until Ba finds Azplilicueta. He stands the ball up towards the far post, but Lindegaard commands his area again as he comes to claim.
Ba collects very deep, and can't make his way around Anderson. Chelsea win a throw. Mata involved again, but he has to go sideways. United getting plenty of red shirts behind the ball.
Mata clips in a cross from the left. Lindegaard has a good starting position and is able to come and pluck the ball out of the air. United again look to play forward from the back. They work Evra down the left, but his first touch lets him down. Throw to Chelsea deep inside their own half.
Chelsea forced all the way back to Cech. They too are keen to play their way out as much as possible. They have to go long on this occasion, and end up winning the second ball inside the United half.
Mata's set-piece is met by Ba. Chelsea work the ball around the edge of the box, before a second Mata cross is nodded behind by Rafael. Lampard tries from the other side, but Lindegaard gets a strong punch on his delivery.
Coolly done by Vidic as he plays his way out of one tight spot. He then ends up in another and presents the ball to Oscar. Too much football from United and they end up conceding a corner.
Valencia touches on to Van Persie, who has Jones breaking past him down the right. His cross is inches away from picking out Anderson in the box. United try again, but Cleverley sees an ambitious effort flick off Anderson on its way behind for a goal kick.
Chelsea pressing high up the field, forcing United to go back to Lindegaard. The Red Devils move the ball well and end up with Jones finding Van Persie. He shifts onto his left foot, but then slices well wide from the edge of the box. No-one has their shooting boots on today.
Another terrible shot, this time from Moses. Jones slips in midfield, gifting the ball to Ramires. He carries the ball forward, before Moses is found arriving on the edge of the box. His first time effort sails high into the crowd. He was always leaning back.
Giggs finds a pocket of space 25 yards from goal and is picked out by Anderson. He turns and shoots, but doesn't catch the ball cleanly and Cech can save with ease. At the other end, Ba goes down claiming a tug from Evans, but is waved back to his feet. Benitez not happy.
Valencia not having the best of afternoons so far. He finds room again on the right flank, but trips over his own feet before he is able to send over a cross. Giggs felled in midfield by Azpilicueta as United look to mount another attack.
Oscar with space to break into down the Chelsea right. He is allowed to keep running into the box, with Vidic backing off to 12 yards from goal. Oscar pokes a low shot goalwards, which Lindegaard fumbles onto the post before gathering.
Moses drifting over to the left this time. The ball ends up at the feet of Oscar, who spots Mata breaking behind the United defence. He loops a pass in his direction, but the Spaniard can't gather it in and had drifted offside in any case.
Moses decides not to run at Evra. Instead he sends a low pass inside towards Ba. He lets the ball run past him, but no-one in blue has read his intention and United can gather. They soon give the ball away again.
Giggs floats a cross-field pass into the path of Valencia. He is caught in two minds as to whether to take a touch or cross first time. He opts for the latter option and hammers a volleyed effort into the stands. Not the best.
Rafael looking for options from a throw. He finds Valencia, and United look to move through the gears. The hosts knocking the ball around confidently, but a long way from goal at the moment.
Anderson into the feet of Giggs. He has the beating of Azpilicueta, but Lampard is in the right place for Chelsea. United come again, with Cleverley collecting a chest down from Van Persie and firing wide of the target from the edge of the box.
Evans allowed to carry the ball a long way and pick out Rafael down the right. He slips past Cole and to the dead-ball line. His low cross is parried by Cech, then hammered to safety.
Lindegaard flaps at a cross and ends up presenting the ball to Ba. He takes a wild air shot from eight yards out. The ball sat up for him on the volley, but he made no contact. Chelsea end up being crowded out, with a shot from distance flashing well wide.
Poor clearance from Lindegaard hands possession back to the Blues. Luiz looking to run the ball out from the back once again, and is tripped. Luiz then sweeps the ball wide to the right for Azpilicueta. He cuts inside and fires a shot against Moses.
Oscar cuts inside off the left flank, but fails to feed the ball into the feet of Ba on the edge of the box. United unable to mount an attack once more. Chelsea seeing more of the ball in the opening exchanges.
Another free-kick to Chelsea on halfway. Luiz picks out Ba, who sees a flick cut out by Evans. United unable to counter. Chelsea back in possession just inside their own half.
Luiz ambles forward, before spraying a pass into the feet of Mata. He plays a one-two with Moses, before floating the ball towards the back post. Ba is unmarked, but the ball is just behind him and he can't direct a header from six yards out on target.
Free-kick conceded on halfway by Evra. Chelsea play it short, before Ramires then looks long. His radar is off and the ball runs through to Lindegaard. United unable to spring Valencia in to space behind Cole.
Great noise inside Old Trafford. This game still means something to those involved. Anderson on the ball early for United, exchanging passes with Valencia. A cross from the latter is cut out by Ivanovic.
Pre-match formalities completed and we are ready for the off. Benitez has taken to his seat - after a handshake with Sir Alex.
Players now in the tunnel so we will leave the feedback there for now and turn our attention to the game. There will be further opportunities to have your say at half-time and at the final whistle.
Sir Alex Ferguson tells Sky Sports prior to kick-off that he has made changes today because he wants to give a few players a run out. With title in the bag, he can afford to do what he wants.
Toby Day thinks Chelsea's frontman can cause United problems. He says: "Going for Chelsea to win today with a score of 2-1! I reckon Ba will do well with Mata behind him."

Oli is another going for an away win. Plenty of takers for a Chelsea success this afternoon. He says: "Chelsea to win 3-1, Lampard, Mata and Ba with the goals for Chelsea and Van Persie with United's goal."
Daniel Diangangu hopes to see United get the job done. He says: "I think that we'll win this one 2-1. After failing to beat Chelsea record of 95 hopefully we can beat their second record of 91. COME ON YOU REDS."

Petar Nikolov feels we may be short on excitement this afternoon. He says: "Looking at the first team sheets leads me to believe this is going to end as a stalemate. Not a lot of flair on the pitch, with more industrious approach seems to have been adopted by Sir Alex and Bentiez."
United have made five changes to the side which drew with Arsenal last time out, while nine of Chelsea's starting XI were involved in Europa League action at some stage on Thursday night - with the games still coming thick and fast for the Blues.

For the record, Hazard picked up a knock on Thursday in the Europa League tie with FC Basel and has not been risked today.
Peter Gajdus is a blue looking for three points on the road. He says: "Chelsea fan here who had a good feeling about today before the realisation Hazard is not even on the bench. Going for a 0-1 win for Chelsea. Come on you Blues!"

United and Chelsea have already met on four occasions in all competitions this season - with United edging a five-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge in the league and Chelsea emerging victorious in a Capital One Cup clash at Stamford Bridge and an FA Cup quarter-final replay.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are still scrapping for a top-four finish, with Tottenham having moved level on points with the Blues on Saturday.
With the title already wrapped up, United are coasting towards the finishing post - with it possible that they could pull 16 points clear of second-placed Manchester City today.
