The Brazilian was among five changes for the leaders, with Javier Hernandez, Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley also included, along with Chris Smalling, who replaced Rio Ferdinand alongside Jonny Evans in central defence. West Ham boss Sam Allardyce made four changes to the side beaten by Tottenham on Sunday, with Guy Demel, Matt Jarvis, Matt Taylor and James Collins all selected.
