1700 Hartlepool, Nottingham Forest and Torquay provide the big FA Cup shocks of the day although Southend make plenty of headlines too for holding Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

1656 Non-league Torquay are confirmed as 1-0 winners over Championship Blackpool in one of the day's biggest shocks.

1655 Tim Howard makes a great late stop to deny Macclesfield an equaliser at Moss Rose. And that's the final action of the match with the full-time whistle going seconds after.

1654 All over at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea have been held to a 1-1 draw by Southend.

1653 Manchester City's FA Cup hopes are left in tatters as they slump to a 3-0 home defeat against Nottingham Forest.

1652 Ipswich are 3-0 up on Chesterfield through Jonathan Stead.

1651 Sensational late news at Stamford Bridge as Southend level against Chelsea via Peter Clarke, who had earlier hit the bar.

1649 Macclesfield have a late penalty appeal against Everton waved away. The visitors still lead 1-0.

1648 Chelsea still lead Southend just 1-0 and despite dominating have seen a Peter Clarke header loop onto the top of the crossbar.

1646 Andrew Johnson's second gives Fulham a late 2-1 lead at Sheffield Wednesday and almost certainly a place in the fourth round.

1645 Hearbreak for Forest Green. Having led 2-0 and 3-2, the hosts now trail Derby 4-3 as Steve Davies nets from the spot with three minutes left. Coventry go 2-0 up on Kidderminster through Leon Best.

1643 A fourth goal at the Emirates and it goes to Arsenal. Van Persie's second makes it 3-1 and that should be enough for the Gunners. Not such good news for another Premier League side though as West Brom concede an equaliser to Peterborough. Mackail-Smith's 87th minute strike looks set to give the League One side a replay.

1641 Barrow's huge travelling support have something to roar at Middlesbrough as they cut the hosts' lead to 2-1 via Jason Walker. Can they force an equaliser in the final 10 minutes?

1640 Joe Ledley's 83rd minute strike makes it Cardiff 2 Reading 0. Looks as if last year's beaten finalists are on their way to round four.

1639 It's all Everton at Macclesfield but the visitors can't put the game to bed and still lead by just that solitary Leon Osman goal. It's a similar case with Chelsea who are still only 1-0 in front against Southend despite carving out a host of chances.

1638 Ebi Smolarek pulls a goal back for Bolton who now trail Sunderland 2-1. And a superb fightback by Dundee United at Celtic as Warren Feeney makes it 2-2 after the hosts had led 2-0.

1637 Richard Offiong gives Hamilton a 2-0 lead over Aberdeen.

1636 Two FA Cup equalisers. Paul Green nets for Derby to make it 3-3 at Forest Green while sub Arturo Lupoli's left-foot strike puts Norwich level at 1-1 against Charlton.

1634 It's all over for Manchester City as Nottingham Forest take a 3-0 lead. A terrible mistake at the back puts Joe Garner in and he takes full advantage.

1631 Forest Green are back in front against Derby as Paul Stonehouse makes it 3-2. It's a cruise now for West Ham with Carlton Cole moving them into a 3-0 lead over Barnsley with an incisive finish.

1630 Sturridge has another effort for Man City but the hosts still trail Nottingham Forest 2-0 and there's just over 20 minutes left.

1627 The deadlock is broken in another FA Cup tie, this time at Watford as Grzegorz Rasiak's 67th minute strike puts the hosts 1-0 ahead against Scunthorpe.

1626 David Fernandez gives Kilmarnock an equaliser at Falkirk. 1-1.

1625 An acrobatic strike from Djibril Cisse puts Sunderland into a 2-0 lead over Bolton at the Stadium of Light.

1624 More FA Cup goals. Paul Robinson gives Eastwood Town fresh hope by cutting Kettering's lead to 2-1 while Alves nets his second to give Middlesbrough a 2-0 lead over Cumbrian minnows Barrow.

1623 Finally a goal at West Brom and, despite being on the back foot in the first half, it goes to the hosts as Jonas Olsson fires into the Peterborough net.

1622 Kettering look set for round four of the FA Cup as Angelo Balanta gives them a 2-0 lead in their all non-league tie against Eastwood Town.

1621 A quick response by Dundee United at Celtic as Paul Dixon nets. Now just 2-1 to the hosts. Back in the FA Cup, Danny Shelley's powerful effort for Crewe makes it 2-2 at Millwall.

1619 Felipe Caicedo, Daniel Sturridge and Richard Dunne all have efforts on the Nottingham Forest goal but the visitors hold out and remain 2-0 in front.

1617 Samaras' second looks to have secured the points for Celtic, who now lead Dundee United 2-0 at Parkhead. Victory for Gordon Strachan's men would put them 10 points clear.

1615 The deadlock is broken in a trio of FA Cup ties. Ross McCormack puts Cardiff 1-0 up on Reading, Kenwyne Jones gives Sunderland a 1-0 advantage over Bolton and Coventry go in front against Kidderminster through Leon McKenzie.

1614 Ipswich double their lead to 2-0 over Chesterfield as Pablo Counago fires home. Arsenal's second against Plymouth has now been credited as a David Gray own goal.

1612 Perhaps we've written off Plymouth too soon! Karl Duguid pulls one back in the 53rd minute and the hosts' lead is cut to 2-1.

1611 Jonathan Walters nets from the spot to give Ipswich a 1-0 lead over Chesterfield.

1610 Looks like Arsenal have quickly put the game to bed against Plymouth as Nicklas Bendtner nets just three minutes after van Persie to make it 2-0.

1608 Simon Mensing's penalty puts Hamilton 1-0 in front against flu-hit Aberdeen.

1607 Manchester City came back out onto the pitch a good three minutes before Nottingham Forest at Eastlands. Can they turn the game around after what was presumably a half-time rollicking from Mark Hughes?

1606 Good half-time teamtalk from Arsene Wenger as the Gunners come out and break the deadlock against Plymouth. Robin van Persie's header puts Arsenal 1-0 up.

1605 The second halfs are kicking off.

1556 Can Plymouth score a shock win at Arsenal. It's currently 0-0 at the Emirates but Sky Bet punters can get 12/1 that Plymouth sneak victory. The Gunners are just 1/3 to triumph while it's 13/5 that the visitors hold out for a draw.

1555 Sky Bet's half-time odds show that Forest are just 1/3 to go on and beat Manchester City. It's 7/2 that the hosts fight back to earn a draw while the Harrogate layers offer 6/1 that City turn the game around completely and take victory.

1550 The half-time whistles have blown and the big story so far is being written at Eastlands where Nottingham Forest lead moneybags Manchester City 2-0. Elsewhere, non-league Torquay are leading Championship side Blackpool by a goal to nil.

1549 Millwall have turned the game around against Crewe as Andy Frampton puts the hosts 2-1 in front after a goalkeeping error from Stuart Tomlinson.

1548 Half-time at the Emirates and Arsenal are being held 0-0 by Plymouth. Holders Portsmouth are also drawing 0-0 with Bristol City.

1546 Forest Green's dreams of an upset have quickly evaporated and Derby are now back on level terms as Martin Albrechtsen heads home to make it 2-2.

1545 Leon Osman breaks the deadlock at Moss Rose as his thumping half-volley puts Everton 1-0 up on Macclesfield.

1544 2-0 to Nottingham Forest at Manchester City! Robert Earnshaw bags Forest's second and the hosts are in big trouble.

1542 Millwall equalise against Crewe as Marc Laird makes it 1-1 in their FA Cup clash. In the SPL, Steve Lovell puts Falkirk 1-0 in front over Kilmarnock.

1540 A goal at Eastlands and it goes to Nottingham Forest as Nathan Tyson stuns the Manchester City fans with a fine 20-yarder. Also in the FA Cup, Rob Hulse pulls a goal back for Derby to cut Forest Green's lead to 2-1.

1539 West Ham double their advantage at home to Barnsley as Mark Noble fires home from the penalty spot to make it 2-0.

1536 A wonderful point-blank save from Terry Burton keeps Forest Green 2-0 up on Derby.

1535 Macclesfield are still holding Everton 0-0 although Tim Cahill has just missed a decent chance for the visitors.

1534 Non-league Torquay take a 1-0 lead over Blackpool through Matthew Green.

1533 Chelsea finally break down Southend as Salomon Kalou heads home from a corner to put the hosts 1-0 up.

1531 West Ham continue to make the running against Barnsley with Jack Collison missing a great chance to make it 2-0.

1530 Nottingham Forest are more than holding their own at Manchester City although Daniel Sturridge has seen a flashing header well saved. Worryingly for the hosts, Shaun Wright-Phillips has limped off injured.

1529 Peterborough are really making the running against West Brom with Craig Mackail-Smith striking the woodwork and the visitors also winning a string of corners.

1528 Craig Westcarr puts Kettering 1-0 in front in their FA Cup clash against fellow non-leaguers Eastwood Town.

1527 Jonjo Shelvey's cracker puts Charlton 1-0 up on Norwich in their all-Championship third round FA Cup clash.

1526 Barrow's offside traps fails them, allowing Afonso Alves to go through on goal and put Middlesbrough 1-0 up.

1525 Sheffield Wednesday are back on level terms against Fulham as Tommy Spurr nets for the hosts.

1524 Sylvain Distin has a shot kicked off the line as Portsmouth look for the breakthrough against Bristol City.

1522 Southend are still holding Chelsea although the hosts have cranked up the pressure with Didier Drogba, Joe Cole and Frank Lampard all having chances.

1520 It gets even worse for Derby and Forest Green take a 2-0 lead over the Championship side as Alex Lawless beats Roy Carroll at his near-post.

1516 Big upset on the cards at Forest Green as the non-league side take the lead over Derby through Jonathan Smith. In the SPL, Georgios Samaras gives leaders Celtic an early advantage over Dundee United.

1515 Dennis Lawrence puts Crewe 1-0 up at Millwall while also in the FA Cup, Andrew Johnson puts Fulham 1-0 in front at Sheffield Wednesday.

1514 Golden chance for Macclesfield to take the lead over Everton but Nathaniel Brown heads over from five yards out. What a miss!

1513 David Nugent goes within a whisker of giving holders Portsmouth a 1-0 lead over Bristol City.

1511 A goal at Upton Park and West Ham go 1-0 in front against last year's semi-finalists Barnsley as Herita Ilunga taps home at the far post.

1510 Chelsea have failed to create anything in the opening 10 minutes against Southend.

1508 Lewis McGugan has a good chance to give Nottingham Forest a shock lead at Manchester City but he fluffs his lines from just seven yards out.

1504 Early chance for Macclesfield at home to Everton with Terry Dunfield smashing an effort just over the bar.

1500 Today's 3pm FA Cup third round matches are in play!

1459 Fulham give a debut to winger Julian Gray against Sheffield Wednesday in today's FA Cup third round tie at Hillsborough. The promotion of Gray, who is on loan from Coventry, and Fredrik Stoor are the only changes made by manager Roy Hodgson to the side that drew with Chelsea last weekend. John Pantsil and Simon Davies move to the bench for the Cottagers, who are without Jimmy Bullard through illness as well as the injured trio of Zoltan Gera (calf), Andranik Teymourian (knee) and Diomansy Kamara (knee). Wednesday manager Brian Laws is able to recall midfielder Jermaine Johnson, who has missed the last seven matches with a knee injury, while loan player Lewis Buxton is given permission by Stoke to play in the Cup. But, with no fewer than 10 players on his injured list, Laws is forced to recall striker Luke Boden from his loan spell at Chesterfield and names just five players - all academy representatives - on the bench.

1455 Newcastle keep faith with unsettled goalkeeper Shay Given for this afternoon's FA Cup third-round tie at Hull. The representative of the long-serving Republic of Ireland international this week said the 32-year-old was at a low point in his career due to continuing unrest on Tyneside. The injury-hit Magpies make just two changes from last week's 5-1 humbling by Liverpool with Sebastien Bassong and Andrew Carroll replacing Jonas Gutierrez and David Edgar. Hull make seven changes from the side beaten by Aston Villa in midweek with Craig Fagan making his first start since breaking his leg against Newcastle in September.

1453 Aiden McGeady is missing for Celtic's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Dundee United at Parkhead. The Republic of Ireland midfielder returned this week after being suspended from first-team training and fined two weeks' wages following a dressing-room bust-up with manager Gordon Strachan after the 1-1 draw with Hearts last month. However, McGeady fails to even make the bench as Strachan makes two changes from the side which beat Rangers 1-0 in the Old Firm derby at Ibrox last week. Shunsuke Nakamura replaces his fellow Japanese midfielder Koki Mizuno while right-back Mark Wilson comes in for Andreas Hinkel, who fails to recover from a rib injury. Dundee United manager Craig Levein makes one change from the side which beat Falkirk last week, midfielder Danny Swanson coming in for striker Warren Feeney who starts on the bench.

1451 Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate makes six changes including a full debut for teenage midfielder Josh Walker in today's FA Cup third round clash with Blue Square Premier strugglers Barrow. Goalkeeper Ross Turnbull, Turkish striker Tuncay Sanli and the suspended Julio Arca are among those to make way while Frenchman Didier Digard is fit to start after recovering from a groin injury. Barrow, roared on by an estimated 7,000 travelling fans on their big day, leave new signing Wayne Curtis on the bench after his loan move from Morecambe, while Matt Henney returns after a back injury.

1450 It's all over at Hartlepool and the League One side have scored the first FA Cup shock of the day by beating Premier League outfit Stoke 2-0.

1449 FA Cup holders Portsmouth are without England striker Jermain Defoe due to flu as they start the defence of their trophy at home to mid-table Coca-Cola Championship side Bristol City. Speculation is rife that Defoe was keen not to be cup-tied ahead of a proposed move back to Tottenham but manager Tony Adams, also without midfielder Papa Bouba Diop and defender Glen Johnson, gives another outing to $6million

reserve forward David Nugent alongside Peter Crouch. Martin Cranie earns a rare call-up in defence. City, back in mid-table after ending a poor run with two consecutive wins, have Stern John, on loan from Pompey's fierce local rivals Southampton, leading their attack.

1448 Craig Bellamy returns from suspension as West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola fields a strong side for the FA Cup third round tie against last year's semi-finalists Barnsley. With Scott Parker suspended, Matthew Upson and Valon Behrami are the only first-team regulars rested while Kieron Dyer is primed for a comeback off the bench 17 months after breaking his leg. Barnsley start with Maceo Rigters up front as one of four changes after fellow on-loan striker Jamie Cureton is refused permission to play by Norwich.

1447 Falkirk manager John Hughes is forced into a defensive reshuffle for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League visit of Kilmarnock. Darren Barr is suspended after his red card in the 1-0 defeat to Dundee United last weekend with possible deputy Gerard Aafjes ruled out with a knee injury. Left-back Tam Scobbie is drafted into a makeshift central defensive role alongside Lee Bullen, the youngster's first start in three months. Burton O'Brien (groin) is also ruled out, with Kevin McBride coming in as the joint-bottom Bairns seek to end a worrying run of four straight defeats. Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies brings in French goalkeeper Damien Rascle, with Alan Combe suspended. Danny Invincibile and Mehdi Taouil are also absent, with Frazer Wright and Willie Gibson restored.

1446 Chelsea make five changes from the side which drew with Fulham in the Premier League for their FA Cup third-round tie against Southend. Injuries rule out Florent Malouda, Alex and Jose Bosingwa while Petr Cech and Deco are rested. Didier Drogba starts in attack with Nicolas Anelka on the bench. Southend make three changes from the team beaten by MK Dons in League One with Johnny Herd, Jean-Francois Christophe and Lee Barnard preferred to Dougie Freedman, Simon Francis and Dan Harding.

1443 St Mirren head into their last-ever league game at Love Street hoping to bid farewell to the stadium with a win over Motherwell in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Saints will move to their new home later this month after more than 114 years and head into the clash full of confidence after notching up four consecutive wins in December. Manager Gus MacPherson has no injury worries and is able to name an unchanged side from the one which defeated Hamilton last week. Motherwell make one change from their own victory over Inverness, with Keith Lasley replacing flu victim Marc Fitzpatrick.

1441 Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia makes four changes for the FA Cup third round tie with Bolton - his first match at the Stadium of Light since taking over on a full-time basis. Centre-back Anton Ferdinand returns after illness while there are also starts for Carlos Edwards, El-Hadji Diouf - against his former side - and Pascal Chimbonda. Teemu Tainio drops to the bench with Steed Malbranque, Phil Bardsley and Daryl Murphy all left out of the squad. Striker Michael Chopra, having returned from his loan spell at Cardiff, is named on the bench. Bolton manager Gary Megson makes just one change from the side beaten by Wigan on December 28 with Fabrice Muamba replacing the suspended Gavin McCann. Full-back Nicky Hunt, recalled from his loan Birmingham, is put on the bench.

1440 Aberdeen's flu-stricken first-team stars have recovered in time for their Clydesdale Bank Premier League trip to Hamilton, with manager Jimmy Calderwood making just one change to the side which recorded a fourth consecutive win last week. Lee Mair, himself one of seven players who had been ill as the Pittodrie side cancelled training for two days this week, starts in place of Charlie Mulgrew, who has a knee injury. Hamilton make two changes from the side which lost at St Mirren last week, with Mark McLaughlin returning from injury and David Graham promoted from the substitutes' ranks to start in place of the benched Chris Swailes and Tony Stevenson, who has moved on loan to Clyde. The width of the New Douglas Park pitch is reduced by a metre at either side an hour before kick-off following a pitch inspection, to eradicate large frozen sections running the length of each existing touchline.

1436 Everton manager David Moyes drafts striker Victor Anichebe into his side's starting line-up for the FA Cup third-round trip to Macclesfield after recovering from a back problem. Anichebe replaces Marouane Fellaini and gives Everton extra attacking options with Tim Cahill expected to support him at Moss Rose. Moyes names a strong side for this match against a team 76 league places below them. Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander calls on his team to show energy, passion and desire in a bid to cause an upset. He names Wayne Rooney's brother John on the substitutes' bench.

1433 A second goal at Hartlepool and again it goes to the hosts. David Foley fires past Stoke goalkeeper Steve Simonsen in the 76th minute to make it 2-0 and we're just 14 minutes away from a shock.

1430 Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger names a strong side for this afternoon's FA Cup third-round tie against Coca-Cola Championship side Plymouth at the Emirates Stadium. Young Pole Lukasz Fabianski and Welsh teenager Aaron Ramsey are the only fringe players handed a chance, with Dutch forward Robin van Persie named captain in the absence of the injured Cesc Fabregas. Jack Wilshere, who turned 17 this week, is on the substitutes' bench, along with summer signing Amaury Bischoff after his return to fitness. The Pilgrims are cheered on by some 9,000 supporters, perhaps travelling more in hope than expectation. On-loan Manchester United youngster David Gray is in the side to make his debut, along with former Blackburn striker Paul Gallagher.

1423 Full-time at Tynecastle and it finishes Hearts 0 Hibs 0. The home fans will feel frustrated having seen their side hit the woodwork three times.

1420 Just over two minutes to go in the Edinburgh derby and it's still 0-0.

1406 A goal at last and it comes at Hartlepool where the hosts take a 49th minute lead over Premier League Stoke via a Michael Nelson header. Could this set the tone for a day of FA Cup shocks?

1355 The woodwork saves Hibs again as Hearts sub Gary Glen hits the crossbar with a long-range effort. Still 0-0.

1350 Colchester v Tranmere is the latest League One game to be called off.

1347 Half-time in the Hartlepool v Stoke clash and a pretty dire game is goalless. Stoke had the best chance early on with Ibrahima Sonko heading a second-minute Glenn Whelan corner against the woodwork.

1342 Christian Nade hits the Hibs woodwork for the second time so it remains Hearts 0 Hibernian 0 in the 50th minute at Tynecastle.

1330 And the games continue to fall. The latest postponements are Brighton v Northampton in League One and Exeter v Port Vale in League Two.

1322 Another FA Cup game goes - Leyton Orient v Sheff Utd due to a frozen pitch. There's also another postponement in League Two with Aldershot v Notts County being called off.

1320 Half-time in the Edinburgh derby and it's Hearts 0 Hibs 0.

1300 They're under way in the Hartlepool v Stoke clash.

1251 Still goalless at Tynecastle although Hearts have just hit the Hibs crossbar from a Christian Nade header.

1250 Stoke boss Tony Pulis has made seven changes to his side for the FA Cup clash at Hartlepool which kicks off in 10 minutes. With Ricardo Fuller and Richard Cresswell suspended and Andy Griffin and Amdy Faye injured, Pulis has little choice but to use his squad, although there is no place either for Thomas Sorensen, Danny Higginbotham or Danny Pugh. Steve Simonsen, Andrew Davies, Ibrahima Sonko, Carl Dickinson, Tom Soares, Michael Tonge and Vincent Pericard are drafted in as the Barclays Premier League outfit look to negotiate a tricky tie. Hartlepool's director of sport and caretaker manager Chris Turner replaces loan striker Kevin Kyle with Michael Mackay following the Scot's return to Coventry, while Matty Robson comes in for Andy Monkhouse.

1239 Birmingham have released a statement in regard to the postponement of their FA Cup clash with Wolves. It reads: "The covers on the St Andrews pitch coped with freezing cold conditions all week. But extreme temperatures of between minus six and minus eight degrees overnight on Friday and into Saturday morning led to the freeze and the game being called off by referee Howard Webb following an 11.45am pitch inspection, on the grounds of concerns over player safety.'' No rearranged dates have been announced for the cup matches.

1231 Another game is lost to the weather, this time in League Two, as Barnet v Grimsby is the latest frozen pitch victim.

1230 The first game of the day - the Edinburgh derby between Hearts and Hibs - is about to kick off.

1215 A number of games have been postponed due to the freezing conditions hitting Britain this weekend. Three third round ties in the FA Cup have been called off - Birmingham v Wolves, Cheltenham v Doncaster and Histon v Swansea - all due to frozen pitches. In League One, Leeds' trip to Edgar Street to face Hereford has been called off while Carlisle v Walsall has also been postponed. And in League Two, Chester's home clash with Luton has also been lost while Morecambe v Lincoln was called off on Friday. The League Two fixture between Aldershot and Notts County must wait to see whether it can be played as planned.
