71 - GOAL!!! Laursen stabs home, it is 3-3! Young bends in a free-kick and the defender strolls in unmarked to equalise.

70 - Sheva selfish: With the striker keen to net a hat-trick he ignores Kalou and drags a shot wide. You cannot blame him for wanting to imrpess.

64 - GOAL!!! Alex strikes to complete the turnaround for Chelsea! Shevchenko rolls the ball into the Brazilian centre-back who then skips over a rash Davies challenge before powering home.

58 - Young burst: The winger does well to sprint down the left and he fires at goal. The narrow is actue, though, and his strike zooms over the bar.

53 - Booking: Reo-Coker is booking for persistently fouling.

49 - GOAL!!! Shevchenko belts Chelsea level. The Ukranian opens up his body just outside the area before unleashing a powerful effort past Carson. Game on.

47 - Difficult: The ball gets caught under Shevchenko's feet, and the striker struggles to generate any power behind his strike.

Second half: Davies replaces Maloney, while Villa get the second 45 underway.

HALF-TIME: The half-time whistle is sounded. Villa are less than pleased despite being in front, while a below-par Chelsea have been handed an unlikely passage back into this game.

45+5 - GOAL!!! Shevchenko buries the spot-kick! He sends Carson the wrong way, handing Chelsea a lifeline.

45+2 - Penalty! Ballack is felled in the area. Knight recieves a red card for a clumsy challenge. He was last man but it was one hell of a soft penalty. Sure, it probably was a spot-kick, but a red card is extremely harsh.

44 - GOAL!!! A Cech gaffe, Villa are now two up. Maloney cuts in from the left and then strikes goalwards. Cech should gather easily but the ball strike his arms and it curls off him into the net. A really poor error from the Czech international.

39 - Solid as a rock. That pretty much summarises Villa's defence. Chelsea are struggling to get behind the Villa back line. Seconds later though, Ballack hits a stunning reverse ball to Joe Cole and the winger powers in at goal. He strikes but it is comfortable for Carson.

35 - Cech stop: The ball drops to Agbonlahor and he smashes at goal, but his effort is straight at Cech and the keeper does well to keep hold of his effort.

29 - Penalty shout: Ashley Cole is bundled over in the box but referee Phil Dowd waves away appeals. He went down a bit doftly, did Ashley.

27 - Pizarro burst: Carvalho slides the Peruvian through and he drives a low ball across the six-yard box, however Carson does well to claim the ball.

25 - Blues change: Lampard is replaced by Ballack - who makes his first Premier League appearance since April.

22 - Lampard is recieving some treatment on his right thigh. Chelsea could do without another injury concern. The signs do not look good for the England international.

18 - Blues possession: Chelsea have woken up and are stringing passes together now. Villa look very organised though, and can punish Grant's men on the break. Meanwhile, Essien is booked for a daft challenge on Agbonlahor.

14 - GOAL!!! Villa are rewarded for their impressive start! Agbonlahor delivers to the back post and Carew cushions a header back across goal. Maloney is there and he stabs the ball past Cech.

11 - Marginal: Ferreira delivers a dangerous cross into the box and Kalou looks to toe it home. But Carson is brave and blocks, while the forward is flagged for offisde - a tight decision.

8 - Essien snatches the ball away from Carew, who was just about to smash at goal. Vital challenge from the powerful midfielder. Moments later, Young bends in a wonderful cross from the right and Carew meets it with his header. But his effort goes well over the bar - a waste.

5 - Excellent start: Villa have been very impressive so far. They have put the home side under a lot of pressure, however they have yet to test Cech.

3 - Young chance: Barry roles an excellent ball into the path of Young. The winger finds himself in a decent position but his effort is rather scuffed and goes wide.

2 - Early effort: Agbonlahor runs at A. Cole before hitting low at goal. Cech had it covered, though, and the ball ripples against the side-netting.

KICK-OFF: Chelsea get the game underway, here we go ladies and gentlemen.

Surprise! Petr Cech starts, handing The Blues a major boost. Victory for Grant's side would do much to put the pressure on United and Arsenal, while Villa are aiming for their first triumph in five attempts.
