Hargreaves hails his opener

Full-time: Fulham 0 Man Utd. Comfortable win for the Red Devils keeps the pressure on Arsenal.

90 + 4 - Flap: Van der Sar makes a meal of dealing with a cross and almost allows Davies to make amends for his earlier error.

Sub: Volz makes way for Kamara.

45 + 3 - Dipping: Ronaldo with a well struck shot from the corner of the box, but Niemi gets a strong punch behind it and knocks it away.

45 + 2 - Space: Fulham are leaving gaping holes at the back now and Rooney and Park almst combine to put the Korean in on goal.

Sub: Nevland comes on against his former club in place of Johnson.

There will be three minutes of added time.

88 - Chance: Volz refuses to strike with his left foot and ends up getting crowded out. A van der Sar punch then ends up back at his feet, but he stands on the ball and United finally clear.

86 - Better: Bullard finally gets a shot on target, but he is way out and van der Sar is able to comfortably get his body behind the ball.

84 - Same again: Another poor effort from Fulham. Stalteri tries his luck this time, but he drags his left foot shot wide.

81 - Closed down: Fulham prevent Ronaldo from getting a shot away from 25-yards, and then do well to prevent Rooney from darting into space after he picks up the ball inside the area.

79 - Wasted chance: Stalteri with time and space to deliver a cross, but he he gets it all wrong and his effort sails high into the crowd.

78 - Threat: Rooney is being marked by two men, but almost manages to cleverly lift the ball over both of them and get in on goal. Unfortunately for him, Hangeland gets a head to ball and then hammers clear.

Sub: Final switch by United sees Anderson come on for the impressive Nani.

74 - Sloppy: Volz has all kinds of space down the right, but the ball out to him is too high and overhit and as a result he is unable to bring it under control and it goes out for throw. Just about sums up Fulham's afternoon.

72 - GOAL: Fulham 0 Man Utd 3. O'Shea with a rare break into the Fulham box and his cross his deflected past his own goalkeeper by Simon Davies.

71 - Too much: Ronaldo instantly starts with the tricks, but a combination of Rooney and Park need too many touches in the middle and their attack is snuffed out.

Sub: Bad news for Fulham. Rooney and Ronaldo have come on for Tevez and Saha.

69 - Well wide: Scholes smashes a left foot drive harmlesly wide as he is closed down quicjkly on the edge of the box.

67 - Tumble: Tevez goes down in the box under pressure form Hangeland but he never looks like getting the decision he is after.

Sub: Murphy makes way for Smertin in Fulham's first change.

65 - Snatched: Another 20-yard effort for Fulham, this time from Johnson, but once again it isn't caught cleanly and it sails well wide.

64 - Too high: Free-kick in a promising area for Fulham, but Bullard's delivery is too long and is knocked away by Ferdinand.

62 - Inches away: Scholes lofts a delicate ball over Fulham's centre-backs and it drops a fraction in front of the outstretched leg of Saha.

59 - No support: Johnson ghosts in behind the United defence and his cross fizzes across the face of goal with no-one able to get a telling touch.

58 - Deflected: Volz's effort looks goalbound until it takes a touch of Evra which sends it spinning wide of the far post.

57 - Nice play: Good spell of football by Fulham takes them to the edge of United's area, but as the ball breaks to Bullard he can only lift a left foot effort over the bar.

55 - Dangerous: Hughes with a confident back pass to Niemi, but he probably didn't realise that Saha was in such close attention behind him. The keeper manages to clear but it was a bit too close for comfort for the Cottagers.

52 - Easy save: Volz has time to get a shot away from 20-yards, but it is a tame effort and van der Sar comfortably keeps it out diving to his left.

51 - Rash: Konchesky appears to lunge in at Nani, but Mike Dean tells the winger to get up and the Fulham full-back goes unpunished.

50 - Offside: McBride appears to be in on goal and squares to Johnson to tap home. The flag is up though and it won't count.

49 - Too tight: Nani and Tevez combine well down the right, but the Portuguese winger's final ball is too strong and United run out of room.

47 - Poor clearance: Van der Sar only finds Murphy with a miscued clearance and Tevez does well to track back and steal the ball back.

46 - Ridiculous: Evra with another foul throw. He obviously hasn't learnt from his woeful first-half attempt.

Second-half: United get the second period up and running.

Half-time: Fulham 0 Man Utd 2. United deservedly in front as they have posed much the greater threat going forward and look like being able to get the job done without Rooney and Ronaldo.

45 - GOAL: Fulham 0 Man Utd 2. Scholes overlaps outside Nani and his chipped ball into the box is met by a fine header from Park. His effort crashes off the underside of the bar before entering the goal and doubling United's advantage.

44 - Almost: Saha with a good delivery from the left which finds Tevez in full flight. His attempted header actually comes off his shoulder and as a result trickles well wide.

43 - Right idea: Bullard tries to pick out McBride at the back post, but his cross is too close to van der Sar and the Dutchman remains untroubled.

42 - Foul throw: Evra should be ashamed that as a professional footballer he is unable to take a legitimate throw-in.

41 - Switch: After giving Stalteri the runaround, Nani is now going to try his luck against Konchesky down United's right.

39 - Tight: Saha somehow makes room for a cross down the right and Niemi has to be alert to prevent the ball squeezing in at his near post.

37 - No room: Murphy again tries to slip a clever ball through the United defence, but no-one reads his intentions and it rolls harmlessly out of play.

35 - Queuing up: Saha's cross skims the head of Nani, and Scholes who is flying in behind sends a difficult volley just wide of the goal.

33 - Unmarked: Bullard with a better set-piece this time and he picks out Murphy in space six-yards out. The midfielder should score, but he sends his header straight into the arms of a relieved van der Sar. Fulham are unlikely to get a better chace all day.

32 - Poor: Bullard has the chance to put a free-kick into the United area, but his delivery hits the first man and is cleared to safety.

31 - Skills: Nani continues to torment Stalteri and ties the full-back in knots before delivering a cross which is just too long and sails over the head of Park at the back post.

30 - Well over: Hargreaves is given space from distance and he fires a rising effort high into the stands.

29 - Scuffed: Bullard tries his luck from 25-yards, but he fails to catch his effort cleanly and it drifts harmlessly past the far post.

26 - Almost two: Scholes has acres of space at a corner and his header requires Niemi to spring to his left and push it round the post.

25 - Corner: Set-pieces could prove to be Fulham's best point of attack, but Konchesky's delivery is not the best and van der Sar claims easily.

23 - Just wide: Nani causes problems again. He cuts inside past Stalteri and unleashes a 25-yard thunderbolt which flashes narrowly wide of Niemi's left hand post.

22 - Uncertain: Davies' cross from left is heading out of play, but Evra tries an acrobatic clearance is lucky not to knock the ball straight to a Fulham player inside his own box.

20 - Waste: Fulham have a three on two situation going forward, but Konchesky's through ball towards McBride is overhit and it runs out for a goal kick. Fulham need to make the most of any opportunities they create and can't afford to be that sloppy.

19 - Floated: Nani's cross from the left gets caught in the wind which allows Konchesky to get underneath it and prevent Park from having a free header.

18 - Comfortable: Fulham try to strike back immediately, but they lack a cutting edge and any attempt to pick their way through United's backline comes to nothing.

15 - GOAL: Fulham 0 Man Utd 1. Hargreaves with a inch perfect free-kick from the edge of the box. He didn't need to send it over the wall, but still managed to find the side of the net with Niemi stranded. His first goal for United.

14 - Solid: A loose ball breaks to Scholes on the edge of the box and is well hit strike cannons into a wall of Fulham defenders. The Cottagers can't afford to allow Scholes that kind of space that close to goal.

13 - Slip: Park does well down the right and his cross picks out Nani in space. He looks to take the ball on the volley and only succeeds in falling over. He probably had time to take a touch but was going for the spectacular effort instead.

11 - Pressure: Davies causes O'Shea problems down the left and the Irishman is forced to hook an untidy clearance into the stand. Fulham need to make sure that they keep up that intensity for the entire game.

9 - Great save: Murphy with a dipping volley from 25-yards which van der Sar does brilliantly to tip round the post. First threat posed by Fulham and it almost resulted in a goal.

8 - Blocked: Stalteri looks to go round the outside of Brown and appears to ba barged off the ball. Referee Mike Dean gives nothing.

7 - Fumble: Niemi is unable to hold Tevez's low drive from 20-yards and needs Hangeland to get him out of trouble with Saha closing in on the rebound.

5 - Great chance: Scholes with an early free-kick over the top to Saha who is in on goal. With defenders getting back to him he then slashes a half-volley wide of the post. United should be in front.

4 - First attempt: Bright start by Nani as he is involved once more. He tries to curl an effort into the top corner from the edge of the box but his effort lacks the required height and it is easily taken by Niemi.

3 - Quick feet: Nani skips past Stalteri this time, but his cross is poor and his easily dealt with by Hughes at the front post.

2 - Pushed wide: Tevez in space on the edge of the box but his lofted pass towards Nani sends the winger away from goal and Stalteri is able to get a challenge in.

1 - Cautious: McBride has strated up front on his own for Fulham, with Bullard given the job of supporting him when possible.

Kick-off: Fulham get the game underway.

Fulham have won just once in their last 15 league games and face another tough task against a United side who will be looking to close the gap on leaders Arsenal at the top.

Sir Alex Ferguson has made the brave choice to leave Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench, while Fulhams' Erik Nevland will hope to get a chance at some point to impress against his former club.
