Jason Roberts Roque Santa Cruz celeb Blackburn v Wigan

Santa Cruz: Scored opener

Last word: I think Massimo should have the last word, after getting the score right. He says: "Well another sucesseful week for the blue and white army. I think we have one of the most exciting attacks and midfield - all we need is a couple of natural defenders and we can all be singing were going on a European tour to see the Blackburn aces! COME ON YOU BLUES!"

Well said!

FULL-TIME Blackburn deservedly win 3-1. Sam you were right, Wigan couldn't come back. Well done Glenn and Masimo with your predicitions!!

Chris Lambert has send in another e-mail saying: "I'm happy with the 3 points - we have played well and Sparky has worked wonders with this team. And I would love to see Beckham get his 100th cap but can your keep Bentley out of the squad when he is putting performaces like this in week after week."

And Thomas Evans adds in reply to Patrick: "IMO we need a central midfielder, central attacking midfielder and striker to replace either Roberts or Benni who i feel might leave in the summer. Michael Bradley will be one of the players purchased by Hughes I hope! We have already been linked with him in the transfer window!"

Thank you everyone for your views and watch out for the managers' post-match reaction - I imagine Sparky will be pleased but Bruce will be fuming with the defensive display.

90 mins - Wigan free-kick: Heskey wins a Wigan free-kick in a dangerous position just outside the box. Taylor takes but his effort is well over.

90 mins - Injury time Four minutes of injury time are added on.

89 mins - McCarthy on McCarthy is on for goal-scorer Santa Cruz.

84 mins - Mokoena on Mokoena is on for Dunn.

More views Thomas Evans says: "Game of the day IMO! Very apt that Santa came to town in the snow! With Hughes spending in the summer, I think it will give the top four a reason to look over their shoulders!"

Chris Great Harwood says: "I take it back - get in Santa Cruz on fire this season 3-1... Come on Rovers we might still be able to make Europe yet."

And Patrick Yoon from South Korea, who is currently studying in France says: "Way to go Hughes and you are one heck of a player Santa Roque!!!!

"Anyway, Mr Pass, what areas do you think Blackburn should improve if they are to succeed in the UEFA Cup? I would very much appreciate an answer."

I think they need another striker to join Santa Cruz. Any other views - please send them to steve.pass@bskyb.com

81 mins - Wigan corner Wigan keep pressing and win a corner but it is headed over.

79 mins - Wigan free-kick Wigan win a free-kick 25 yards out. Taylor hits it but it deflects off the wall for a corner. Wigan take it and Scharner is there at the far-post but heads it just wide. Unlucky!

78 mins - Tugay on Tugay is on for goal-scorer Roberts.

78 mins - Kilbane booked Kilbane is booked for a challenge on Bentley.

75 mins - Taylor free-kick Taylor fizzes a free-kick in from the right and Friedel does really well to palm the ball away. Heskey has a header soon afterwards. Wigan are now pressing.

More views More views have come in. Chris Great Harwood says: "I think Rovers will win by 2-1 - I can't see us getting another goal now after Steve Bruce has had a talk to his player."

Sam says: "Massimo has a point but c'mon rovers 3-1 - I am gonna get ma prediction right I think. How bad is the snow." It has stopped for the moment now.

Robert Stewart is also a Massimo fan, saying: "Massimo is very right, provided we can keep the team together along with the BEST manager around Sparky Hughes!!"

And Massimo himself says: "Blackburn work wonders again 3 - 1 as I predicted and what a signing Roque Santa Cruz has been for us. I know by now you may be getting fed up with me emailing but I'm so happy with this score and all the Blackburn fans will be over the moon I see the UEFA cup over the hill!" I'm not fed up with your views Massimo - keep'em coming!! Anyone else who want's to share their views, please e-mail: steve.pass@bskyb.com

69 mins - Palacios off Palacios is sent-off for a second yellow card after bringing Dunn down. It is now 10 v 10.

65 mins - Brown shot Wigan respound and Brown has a great long-distance shot which Freidel has to push out. Wigan have 2 corners in quick succession but Scharner heads over. Can Wigan, who have just replaced King with Bent, make their extra man count to get back in this game?

63 mins - GOAL!!!!!!!! Santa Cruz gets the third - Glenn and Massimo, your predictions are coming true!! Bentley does well to cross from the left and Santa Cruz runs in to head in from six yards. He got 3 against Wigan last time, can he get his hat-trick again!!

62 mins - Santa Cruz miss Santa Cruz has a great chance for a second but scuffs his shot. Pedersen does well to cross from the left and the ball finds Santa Cruz lurking on the edge of the box but he misses.

61 mins - Melchiot booked:

59 mins - Brown booked:

Massimo pleased! Massimo has been back in touch and is well pleased. He says: "Looking good now for Blackburn. I hope we can see this through - we are a big club and I believe in the next couple of seasons we can once more be knocking on the door of the big four. COME ON BLACKBURN you can do it!" Is he right? Send your views to: steve.pass@bskyb.com

58 mins - Poor conditions The game slows as the snow gets worse. It's grim up north!

Sam's prediction Sam Heyes has been in touch and he also predicts a Rovers win - but by 5 goals to 1! He thinks Bentley will get 1 and Santa Cruz 2 more - is he a dreamer or a soothsayer?! Send your views to steve.pass@bskyb.com

52 mins - Penalty shout: Santa Cruz is found with a terrific pass from Bentley and he goes down in the box under a Melchiot challenge. He believes it is a penalty but replays show Melchiot wins the ball. It was close to being 3-1 Glenn and Massimo!

51 mins - Taylor free-kick Taylor puts a 30 yard free-kick just over Friedel's cross-bar. The second-half is yet to get going but news has come through that Edman has suspected ligament damage, which is bad news.

45 mins - Re-start Welcome back to Ewood Park where Wigan get the second period underway.

HALF-TIME What a half!! Rovers go in 2-1 up. Santa Cruz put Rovers in front before Samba brought down Heskey and King netted his first goal for Wigan from the spot. But 10-man Rovers deservedly re-took the lead with a great goal from Roberts. Ben, you could still get your 2-2 draw prediction right, but not the goal-scorers now. Any more views - please send them to steve.pass@bskyb.com

45 (+4) mins - Wigan corner Wigan win a corner but Blackburn clear!!

Injury time Five minutes of injury time is announced and it has started snowing!!

45 mins - GOAL!!!!!!! You 3-1 guys could be right - Roberts has just given Rovers the lead!! Santa Cruz does well to head-flick a ball on and Roberts turns Boyce and then cooly slots home. Brilliant goal!!

Massimo's prediction Massimo agrees with Glenn that Rovers will win 3-1. He says: "Unlucky Bentley with his freekick. I think we have more fighting spirit with all the respect to Wigan. Come on Rovers!"

41 mins - Edman injured Edman goes down injured after making a brilliant block to stop Roberts goal-bound header. There is no contact but he falls awkwardly. Taylor replaces the unlucky Edman.

37 mins - Bentley post Bentley hits the right-hand post with a 30 yard free-kick which takes a slight deflection off Kilbane's head. Glenn, you could be right!!

Glenn wide-awake! As regards my question shouldn't Glenn be in bed, he says: "Not on a Saturday night mate, footballs on. I have followed English footy since I was 7. I'm now 32 and believe it's the best league in the world. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into my brothers and cousins when Arsenal win the prem. Hope you enjoy the game there." I certainly am mate, thanks for your views!!

Ben not Bill Ben has just informed me this is his name, not Bill! Sorry Ben!

34 mins - Wigan corner Wigan win another corner but Reid clears Kilbane's effort.

32 mins - Pedersen close Pederson goes close with a free-kick from the right which goes just past Kirkland's right hand upright. Rovers are still in this game.

Glenn's prediction Glenn from New Zealand has just been in touch predicting a Blackburn win. He says: "Blackburn will fire up as so many teams down to 10 do eg Birmingham v Arsenal. I will predict a 3-1 Blackburn victory with Santa Cruz the hero getting another." You could be right mate! By the way, what time is it there, shouldn't you be in bed!!

Bill's prediction I think it's Bill who thinks it will be a two-all draw, with Blackburn's goals from Roque Santa Cruz and Dunn, and the Latics goals from King and Heskey. Your half-way there Bill!!

24 mins - Wigan corners Wigan win a corner but Kilbane takes a poor one and luckily gets another chance. He them gives a better delivery and Boyce has a free header on the far post but does not score.

22 mins - Rovers press Rovers force Kirkland into saves, showing there is plenty off fighting spirit left.

Mark's prediction Mark Hardy has just sent in his prediction that Wigan will win 3-2. I hope it will be a five goal thriller Mark but I'm not going to say who should win!! Any more views/predictions - please send them to steve.pass@bskyb.com

19 mins - King shot King shoots but Friedel makes a good save. It is all Wigan at present.

16 mins - Penalty!!! Heskey is pulled down by Samba in the penalty box winning a penalty and Samba is sent-off.

14 mins - Palacios booked

Jim's prediction Just before the goal, Jim the 'Finnish Rovers fan' sent in a prediction that Rovers will win 3-0, with Roberts, Dunn and Gamst to score. Sorry Jim, you're wrong with the goal scorers but you could very well be right about the score! Any-one else with predictions/views - send them to steve.pass@bskyb.com

12 mins - GOAL!!! Santa Cruz puts Rovers in front. Bentley shoots from 25 yards on the left, Kirkland can only parry the shot and Santa Cruz follows up to head home from three yards out.

9 mins - Bentley shot: Bentley shoots from 30 yards out on the right and Kirkland does well to push the ball away for a corner. Rovers take but Wigan clear. Good effort.

6 mins - Kirkland okay Kirkland continues after being winded catching the ball, much to the relief of the Wigan fans.

3 mins - Stalemate No chances have been created so far. Wigan keeper Kirkland is currently receiving treatment on the pitch after collecting a cross.

Kick-off Rovers get the game underway. Remember, you can get in touch with your views by e-mailing me at steve.pass@bskyb.com

Team news Blackburn manager Mark Hughes has brought in Zurab Khizanishvili for the injured Brett Emerton as he keeps changes to a minimum for the visit of Wigan.

Emerton's groin problem has ruled him out and meant a reshuffle in defence with Andre Ooijer switching to right-back and Khizanishvili slotting into the centre.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce also made one enforced change, with Kevin Kilbane coming

in for the suspended Jason Koumas.

Blackburn: Friedel, Ooijer, Samba, Khizanishvili, Warnock, Bentley, Reid, Dunn, Pedersen, Santa Cruz, Roberts. Subs: Brown, Kerimoglu, McCarthy, Mokoena, Derbyshire.

Wigan: Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Scharner, Edman, Valencia, Brown, Palacios, Kilbane, King, Heskey. Subs: Pollitt, Taylor, Aghahowa, Bramble, Bent.

Welcome Welcome to Ewood Park where Blackburn entertain Wigan in this North-West derby. Given their managers' tough reputations, the game will surely be keenly contested, but will it produce goals? Please send your views and predictions to: steve.pass@bskyb.com
