FULL-TIME Bolton hang on for a 2-0 victory that effectively secures their Premier League survival. They face Chelsea next week but are three points clear of the relegation zone and have a better goal difference than their rivals.
88 - Solid defence Bolton are defending well and look comfortably on course for victory.
85 - Too early to celebrate Bolton are closing in on Premier League safety but Sunderland may have other ideas as they respond strongly to falling 2-0 behind.
83 - GOAL Murphy heads into his own net from a corner. Reid attempts to clear but the ball has already crossed the line and surely Bolton now have clinched the points.
82 - Tense times Bolton are back on top but they will be wary - Sunderland have a habit of scoring very late goals.
79 - Bolton backing Rick Poole expects Bolton to win here and then avoid the drop despite playing Chelsea in their final game.
77 - End to end Both sides are looking threatening in attack, in contrast to the first half, but Bolton will surely be starting to feel the nerves. Can they hang on?
73 - Just wide Diouf squanders the chance to make the points safe as he heads off target. We are set for a thrilling finale here.
70 - What a miss Jones fails to make contact with a cross from Reid with the goal gaping in front of him. Bolton will be extremely grateful.
68 - Faint praise Trevor Dudley wants Bolton to keep it up and beat Sunderland, but only because he is a Crystal Palace fan and he needs 'teams like that to survive so that we can beat them next season'.
66 - Davies to the rescue Sunderland win a free-kick in a good position but Bolton scramble Reid's delivery clear.
62 - Triple substitution Keane decides that drastic action is needed and brings on Murphy, O'Donovan and Leadbitter. Nosworthy, Miller and Chopra make way. Let's hope there are no injuries in the remaining half hour.
59 - Bruising battle There have been plenty of crunching challenges in midfield and you cannot fault Sunderland's effort levels, even if they have been below par today.
56 - Deflected over Richardson's ambitious effort from distance is deflected high into the stands by Nolan.
54 - Off the post Diouf's goalbound header from Taylor's cross is blocked by Collins.
52 - Sitting deep Bolton are defending deep in their own half and Chopra brings a save out of Al-Habsi with a long-range shot.
49 - Wayward Sunderland's passing has not got any better since the break but they are showing more forward intent.
47 - Still hope for Sunderland Robert was disappointed with Sunderland's performance in the first half but thinks they can still get a point. Keep the emails coming at Lewis.Rutledge@bskyb.com.
Back underway Bolton get the second half started.
HALF-TIME The job is half done for Bolton as they lead at the break. They have not created much but Diouf's finish was classy and they probably deserve their lead.
45 - Good response Sunderland have battled back since going behind and will pose problems in the second half.
42 - GOAL Diouf controls Nolan's cross and slams past Gordon from a tight angle to put Bolton ahead.
41 - Jones goes close Jones almost provides the finishing touch to Reid's excellent cross from the left.
40 - Blocked The ball breaks for Whitehead on the edge of the Bolton box but he smashes his effort straight at Cahill.
37 - Sloppy Sunderland Keane's men are unable to sustain any pressure as they keep surrendering possession to their opponents.
34 - Better from Black Cats Sunderland showed no interest in attacking in the opening half hour but are now enjoying a good spell of possession.
32 - Wasteful Steinsson has a chance to send in a dangerous cross from a good position after great work by Diouf, but over-hits his delivery and Sunderland clear.
30 - Test for Al-Habsi It is all happening now as Jones lets fly from a tight angle and Al-Habsi makes a routine save at his near post.
28 - Just over Seems I spoke too soon. Diouf's excellent cross from the right finds Davies and he heads high from close range.
26 - Lack of goalmouth action Bolton have been full of endeavour but have not yet come remotely close to breaking the deadlock. Sunderland have barely got into the home side's half. Not the greatest spectacle then, but there is plenty of tension.
24 - Gordon on the charge Gordon rushes out of his area to head a long ball away just before Davies reaches it. It looked a bit reckless but turned out to be a good decision. What have been your thoughts on Gordon this season?

18 - Sunderland survive scare Gordon loses his footing as Taylor whips in a cross, but the ball flies over everyone's heads to safety.
16 - All to play for Several Sunderland fans have been in touch to say there is plenty still to play for, as Sunderland could overtake Newcastle with wins in their final two matches.
13 - Hopeful appeal Davies flicks on a free-kick and the Bolton fans cry for a penalty as the ball ricochets into Evans' shoulder. Referee Martin Atkinson waves play on. Fair call.
10 - No way through McCann and Guthrie have been lively in midfield for Bolton in the early stages but Sunderland are defending well and there have been no chances as yet.
7 - Sunderland support Claudio and Laura are both backing Sunderland to win as they have a more 'compact' team. You might be right but so far Bolton are well on top.
4 - Bright start Bolton certainly look up for this and are starting to apply some early pressure. Reading and Birmingham have already lost today so three points here would effectively clinch their survival.
2 - Sign of things to come? Steinsson and Reid are involved in a physical battle and Bolton win the free-kick. I wonder how many flowing passing moves we will get in this one?
