McClaren: Under pressure
90 - ALL OVER: England record the win as they gear up for Wednesday.
86 - Flat times: The game has hit a bit of a slow period as England shut up shot for the win.
81 - Clear the lines: England clear easily
80 - Final 10 minutes: England look comfortable as they look to record a morale boosting win. But Austria have a corner.
76 - Chance: Young hammers a cross to the far post, but Defoe cannot not quite connect with his head.
75 - Substitution: Austria bring on 19-year-old Jurgen Saumel for Joachim Standfest.
75 - Open game: The typical friendly substitutions mean the game is now being played in an end-to-end style with the range of fresh legs on the field.
72 - Substitution: Crouch is taken off for Alan Smith.
69 - From range: Lampard, who does not usually need a second invitation to have a pop, blasts narrowly wide from 20 yards. The Chelsea midfielder has had a good game since his return to the starting XI and he appears to want to prove a point.
68 - Pressure on: Austria have a period of sustained possession in England territory, but Wayne Bridge mops up well.
65 - Substitution: Yuksel Sariyar makes way for Martin Harnik.
61 - Substitution: David Bentley comes on for Beckham. The Blackburn midfielder is greeted by the usual chorus of boos for his decision to opt out of the summers Under 21 squad.
60 - Taking a chance: Richards recovers well on Kienast after initially struggling.
59 - Should have been two: Crouch heads towards goal, but he is denied by a good save from Manninger.
58 - Possible penalty: Brown appears to have a piece of Ivanschitz's shirt as they crash to the ground inside the penalty area, but the referee is having none of it.
54 - Wayward effort: Young cuts inside from the left and seems set to line up a nice effort, but on his supposedly stronger right foot he manages to find the far touchline for a Austria throw in.
50 - Back on top: England have picked up where they left off and are dominating.
49 - We're back: England get the second half going and Roman Kienast, who has come on at half-time, has a chance but England defend well.
Half-time changes: Ashley Young, Gareth Barry and Wes Brown come on for Cole, Gerrard and Campbell. Frank Lampard has been handed the captain's armband.
45 + 4 - HALF-TIME: Referee Nicolai Vollquartz brings the first 45 minutes to a close with McClaren looking satisfied with a positive first half performance.
45 + 2 - Austria effort: The dangerous Ivanschitz has a stab with a daisy cutter from 18 yards, but Carson is behind it all the way.
45 - Added time: There will be four minutes added time
44 - GOAL!!! From the resulting corner Crouch climbs above the crowd to nod in at the far post to give England a deserved lead and score his 11th goal for his country in 13 starts. Defoe does excellently at the corner to block of Manninger as the shot-stopper attempts to collect the initial cross from Beckham.
43 - Brave save: Manninger does well to dive at the feet of Cole as he looks destined to score and Crouch is denied by Markus Weissenberger as Austria scramble clear for a corner.
40 - Counter attack: Ivanschitz breaks well and Richards is forced to recover with a well timed tackle to clear for a corner, which Crouch defends.
38 - Word from the touchline: Owen has apparently suffered a thigh strain.
36 - Owen injury: It appears Owen may have injured himself in striking his previous effort.
33 - It doesn't look good: Owen makes way for Jermain Defoe and England's star striker, who has a bit of previous ion the injury department, heads straight down the tunnel.
32 - Best move: Liverpool team-mates Steven Gerrard and Crouch combine to create a chance for Owen from 15 yards, but the striker is denied by a characteristically spectacular save from the rosy cheeked Manninger.
30 - God save the Queen: The England faithfull make themselves heard as the national anthem rings out.
27 - Free-kick: Beckham is felled in a dangerous position for the midfielder to try his luck, but he is unable to get his effort over the wall.
26 - Substitution: Macho makes way for Arsenal old boy Alex Manninger after a lengthy stoppage.
22 - Ouch:b> Crouch and Macho collide accidentally and the Austria goalkeeper has come off worst and appears to have been knocked unconscious.
20 - Lucky escape: Beckham feeds a trademark cross into the near post and Austria goalkeeper Jugen Macho fumbles, but Crouch is unable to turn on goal.
19 - Over the top: Cole appears to have shaken off that earlier knock as he goes on a positive run and blasts over the cross bar from 20 yards.
18 - Another corner: Beckham has another opportunity to deliver, but Micah Richards - who seems to have springs in his heels - heads over. England appear to have settled now.
14 - Early struggle: Michael Owen is struggling to get a touch in attack as his strike partner takes on four Austrians as he use those long legs to good effect on a mazy run.
11 - Down to 10 men: Don't panic! It is only because of an injury to Joe Cole, but the Chelsea man is back on after receiving treatment.
9 - At the other end: England force two corners in quick succession, but Beckham's delivery is disappointing as he hits the first man on both occasions.
7 - England warning: Austria are on top and Ivan Ivanschitz glides past David Beckham and Frank Lampard on the left of the penalty area forcing a last ditch clearance from Joleon Lescott.
5 - Electric atmosphere: The worthwhile nature of this fixture had been questioned prior to kick-off, but the Ernst Happel Stadion is rocking and England know they are in for a tough game.
2 - Early action: Sol Campbell takes a risk as he steps up and the defender is relieved to see an offside flag deny Austria a clear run on goal, while at the other end England force a corner which comes to nothing.
Kick - off: Austria get us under way. England boss McClaren will be desperate for a positive performance as he prepares for Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia.
