Commentary: France 1 England 0

Beckham: Centurion

90 + 2 - ALL OVER: France record the win. Capello suffers his first defeat as England manager as a penalty from Ribery hands France a 1-0 friendly win at the Stade de France. I wonder if Eden, who suggests that Capello will start slowly before flourishing, will be right in the long run. Stay with Skysports.com for all the post-match reaction.

90 - Added time: There will be two minutes added time.

86 - England corner: England win another corner but Bentley's delivery is poor and France break as Cisse burns past Ashley Cole only to fire into the side netting. Great pace.

83 - Should do better: Bentley crosses, but Downing does not look confident when heading at the far post. The game has gone very flat and it looks like you are going to need to pray for an England equaliser Shane.

79 - Substitution: Anelka, who has been the difference between the two sides, makes way for Djibril Cisse. The striker does not get the warmest of welcomes.

77 - Offside: Owen almost breaks on to a through ball from Crouch, but he is denied by an offside flag. It does not look like it is going to be England's night.

74 - Mexican Wave: The atmosphere is back in the stadium as the English fans refuse to get involved in a Mexican Wave which is circling the Stade de France, much to the dislike of the French fans. What do they say Mexican Waves are a sign of......?

70 - Twenty minutes to go: England seem happy to let France have the ball at the back. Sorry Jon it does not look like it will be "goal o'clock" anytime soon. If a goal does come, Anelka looks like the candidate.

68 - Frustration: Bentley sums up the feeling of the England team as he pushes Malouda to the ground. The game has gone a bit flat and the Stade de France is very quiet. You never know what might happen though.

66 - No more McClaren: Thomas, you have riled a few people with your McClaren comparison and people believe that Capello is collecting all the information he needs for when the big games arrive in World Cup qualification arrives.

63 - French change: Sidney Govou comes on for the ineffective Trezeguet.

63 - Bye bye Becks: Many off you get you wish as Beckham makes way for Bentley. Will that be the end of his England days? Brown also comes off for Glen Johnson.

59 - Becks to the rescue: Beckham beats Anelka to the ball after tracking back well with James dallying over coming off his line. Beckham has not set the world a light tonight, but has been as reliable as ever. Meanwhile, the changes have made little impact but never rule out Owen producing a goal in a big game.

55 - Not much happening: France are happily drawing on England and looking to break. Thomas Evans believes the four changes at half-time compares Capello to former boss Steve McClaren and he has labelled the Italian McCapello! Meanwhile, a lot of you are calling out for Bentley.

52 - Good riddance to Gerrard: Linda is glad to see the back of Gerrard and believes Capello should have selected a Barnsley midfielder instead. The romance of the FA Cup claims another victim.

50 - Anelka threat: The Chelsea striker is looking very dangerous as he twists and turns Ferdinand but fires just over the bar at the near post. France look very dangerous on the break as Malouda also drags one wide from range.

48 - Corner: Beckham is ready to deliver another set piece. He now has Crouch to aim at, but the striker's header is over the top. Crouch should have done better.

45 - WE'RE BACK: The second half is under way. Will the changes make a difference for England?

Half-time changes: England are going to make four changes. Rooney, Gerrard, Joe Cole and John Terry are going off. Daniela you are going to get your wish as Peter Crouch is coming on. Owen is also going to start the second as is Joleon Lescott and Stewart Downing. The word from the touchline is that Terry has a slight hamstring injury, but it is only a precaution.

45 - HALF-TIME: France are in front courtesy of their penalty. A few of you have criticised James for his part in bringing down Anelka, but the shot-stopper was helpless and could not avoid the collision. England have had the better of the game but have lacked an attacking edge. Meanwhile, France have looked the more dangerous when they have attacked. It will be interesting to see if there are any changes at half-time. It feels like there will be more goals in this one. Peter.Fraser@bskyb.com to get in touch.

43 - Rooney chance: Barry delivers a good chance and Rooney heads towards goal, but it is straight at Coupet. It has not really happened for Rooney so far. He needs a partner in attack.

40 - Holding back the tears:Mike claims he still has not recovered from the 'debacle' against France in 2004 and confesses he is now crying into his keyboard due to James influenced flashbacks. Don't shoot the messenger Mike. I'm only telling it like it is!

38 - Booking: Beckham does mark his 100th cap. He goes in the book for pulling the shirt of Ribery. The French winger was just too quick for the England man.

34 - Corner: Beckham has another corner, but France once again clear. The home side look far more comfortable at the back than England.

32 - GOAL FRANCE: Ribery steps up and slots into the bottom right corner after sending James the wrong way. The penalty incident was very similar to the one James gave away against France at Euro 2004 when he brought down Thierry Henry from Zinedine Zidane's pass.

30 - PENALTY FRANCE: Anelka skips on to a long ball from Francois Clerc and beats David James to the ball and dink past the goalkeeper. James clatters into Anelka and brings the forward down inside the 18-yard area to give away a definite penalty.

27 - Bit harsh: "Viva La France", says Dana, who believes Gerrard is too selfish. Meanwhile Jim thinks England can't perform in big games.

25 - Feelings: What do you make of it so far? Remember it is Peter.Fraser@bskyb.com. England are enjoying things now, but France have swapped their wide men Malouda and Franck Ribery as they bid to regain their attacking impetus.

23 - England corner: The visitors are now enjoying the better of it as Beckham finds Ferdinand free at the far post with a corner but his skipper opts to head across goal when he had time and France clear.

21 - Good try: right-back Wes Brown crosses well and Gerrard heads narrowly over at the back post. Well played. Ashley Cole is also getting forward at every opportunity and pushing the full-backs forward appears to be an England tactic.

20 - What a waste: England have France on the back foot as Rooney and Gerrard break, but the latter opts to try his luck from 25 yards and the ball loops well over the top.

17 - Keep ball: England are enjoying a bit of possession bring about some shrill whistles from the French faithful. But the home side also look capable of their trademark lightening quick counter-attacking football.

14 - Beckham chance: Ashley Cole whips a dangerous cross into the corridor of uncertainty. France goalkeeper Gregory Coupet misses the ball and Beckham almost slides in at the far post. That would have summed up Beckham's sense for the occasion. England have settled now and the game is being played in an entertaining end-to-end style.

12 - Well defended: France are on top as Gareth Barry gets back to defend well. Anelka is looking very dangerous for France and looks more energetic than he has done since joining Chelsea.

10 - Anelka threat: the Chelsea striker should have done better with a free header, but he was wide of the mark. Malouda also threatened again and France appear to posses and attacking presence that England have lacked so far.

7 - Pushing hard: England are putting France under pressure every time they get the ball and they look in determined mood. Tanya, who is "stuck at work on Long Island in New York", it looks like you will get you wish that England will prove a point following their failure to qualify for Euro 2008. And don't worry your secret is safe with us. We won't mention that you are neglecting your work.

6 - At the other end: Expectancy levels rise as England win a corner and Beckham strides over, but France clear.

4 - Malouda danger: Chelsea winger Florent Malouda looks like he has a point to prove and is running at the England defence at every opportunity, but Ferdinand defends well.

2 - Early signs: Gerrard is playing in a role just behind Rooney in a very similar scenario to that which he plays for club level behind Fernando Torres. Will it be as productive? Let's keep it friendly and feel free to call me Pete.

KICK-OFF: German referee Florian Meyer gets the game going. The talking is over. Beckham has his 100th cap. Now can he produce the goods? Meanwhile, Ken Krammer is questioning the decision to take the captaincy away from Terry.

National anthems: As the respective anthems ring around Paris, Michael Bush a "first generation Arsenal-supporting American with English parents" - I feel a bit dizzy but think I follow you - has predicted a 2-1 win to England.

Kick-off approaches: The teams are in the tunnel and are set to make their way on to the Stade de France pitch. The atmosphere is really building and it does not have the feeling of a friendly. Remember if you want to get in touch during the match drop me a line at Peter.Fraser@bskyb.com.

Team news: Nicolas Anelka will be no stranger to the English players, while David Trezeguet will be hoping to impress on his return to the side. Domenech may have been robbed of the services of a number of his stars, but his side still looks pretty strong. I'm looking forward to this.

France team: Coupet, Abidal, Gallas, Makelele, Malouda, Toulalan, Clerc, Thuram, Trezeguet, Ribery, Anelka. Subs: Landreau, Mexes, Cisse, Govou, Squillaci, Alou Diarra, Flamini, Evra.

Predictions: Kevin C has dropped me a line to predict a 0-0 draw. Let's hope not Kevin, but your shout that the skipper's armband will help Ferdinand focus on the game sounds like a good one.

General view: Chris F is backing Beckham all the way from the Windy City of Chicago and Shankar is also giving his support. Anyone think the man from LA is over the hill? Should David Bentley have got the nod. Has Capello buckled under pressure to give him his 100th appearance? What about any predictions for the match?

Clinton calling Clinton Carroll has been in touch all the way from Kuwait to say Becks definitely deserves his 100th international appearance - and a knighthood! Maybe on day Clinton, Her Majesty may be taking notes if she is watching! Sorry to hear you can't watch the game, but stay with Skysports.com and we'll bring you all the action and reaction from Paris.

France news: It should be interesting to see the French line-up. Domenech is without the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Louis Saha and it will be intriguing to see what sort of a formation he opts for. Let me know your thoughts.

Get in touch: What do you think? Does Beckham deserve to win his 100th cap from the start? Is Capello correct to again omit Owen? What about Gareth Barry and Owen Hargreaves in the centre of midfield, who will provide the attacking edge? Let me know your thoughts at Peter.Fraser@bskyb.com.

Team news: David James can now be considered England's undoubted No.1 as he starts his second consecutive game under Capello. But Michael Owen again misses out on a starting place, while Frank Lampard is absent with stomach cramps. Steven Gerrard looks like he will get to play in a role just behind lone striker Wayne Rooney.

England team: James, Brown, Ferdinand,Terry, A Cole, Hargreaves, Barry, J Cole, Beckham, Gerrard, Rooney. Subs: Robinson, Johnson, Lescott, Bridge, Bentley, Downing, Owen, Crouch, Walcott, Green.

French connection: Meanwhile, France are labelling the meeting with England as their defining warm-up game ahead of Euro 2008 and Raymond Domenech's side will be keen not to lose face against their old foes from across the Channel. It promises to be a cracker.

Anticipation builds: What a game we have in prospect in a perfect Parisian setting. David Beckham is to win his 100th England cap as Rio Ferdinand captains the visitors in manager Fabio Capello's second game in charge.
