Full-time: City get the three points today after coming from a goal down. Spurs sat back shortly after their opener and paid the price. Ireland's goal was controversial, though, while Spurs might feel doubly hard done by after Bent had a late goal ruled out. Stay with skysports.com for post-match reaction.
89 - Change: Jihai replaces Benjani.
85 - Disallowed: Bent's goal is chalked off for offside. Hmmm, I am not so sure anyone was offside in that move...
82 - Pressing: Spurs are trying but at the moment City are standing firm. It is all rather tense.
78 - Left foot anyone? The ball drops to Johnson just inside the six-yard box, but the midfielder chooses the wrong option by attempting to hit it with his right. The ball spins well wide. Definitely should have used his left.
76 - Change: Caicedo replaces Elano.
72 - GOAL!!! Onuoha makes it 2-1! A terrific header from the England Under 21 as he thumps past Robinson from Elano's corner.
71 - Sub: Vassell comes on for Castillo. Remember, you can get in contact at James.Dall@bskyb.com
70 - Yellow? Jenas bursts through, but is flagged offside. He fires wide in frustration after the whistle is sounded; however he is not booked.
67 - Double change: Bent and O'Hara replace Keane, who throws his armband off in fury at the change, and Malbranque.
64 - Benjani: Patrick has emailed in questioning the Zimbabwean's finishing. While Benjani lacks that clinical edge, he certainly works hard - his work rate was more than demonstrated in the build up to City's equaliser.
59 - GOAL!!! Ireland levels! Benjani works tirelessly down the left before pulling a cross into the area. It is directed back across goal before Elano flicks at goal. Ireland, who might have been offside and was about to be substituted, then scuffs the ball into the corner. Game on.
53 - Shoot! Blimey. Castillo finds himself with the ball at his feet and the goal about three yards away from him. He stutters, pondering a strike before eventually shooting. By now it is too late and Dawson blocks well. Where was the urgency? Sometimes you just have to put your foot through the ball and hope for the best.
49 - Flat: It is all rather quiet at Eastlands as the fans await to be inspired by their players. Oh, and my apologies to Josh as my wordery appears to be distracting him from his university work!
Underway: City get the second period underway. Meanwhile, Andrew Olive has fired an email to skysports.com HQ urging Sven's men to better their first-half display.
Change: Huddlestone replaces Lennon (sorry Rob - see minute 24) before the second half gets going.
Half-time: Spurs lead at the break. Keane's finish - his 21st of the season - was superb. The interval gives me time get a spanking new photo on the commentary, plough through your emails (James.Dall@bskyb.com) and then treat myself to a glass of water. See you shortly.
45 - Recovery: Castillo continues to threaten, but this time he opts to cutback rather, than shooting, and is tackled by the tracking back of Chimbonda.
43 - Test: Matt Burrows believes today's clash against City is a test of Spurs' potential resolve. It has been all Tottenham fans on the email so far ladies and gentlemen. City fans - in the words of Delia, who is quite keen to make cooking easier for Britain - where are you?
38 - Denied: It is Spurs who are now on the backfoot, with Robinson forced to make a decent save from Elano's strike. Meanwhile, Dave has got in contact hammering Chimbonda's attitude. He wants the Frenchman out at the end of the season. Thoughts?
36 - Castillo: Castillo races onto Johnson's defence splitting pass and demonstrates his bursting pace. He gets their ahead of Chimbonda, who had a head start, but lacks composure and blasts well wide.
35 - Force: Keane's goal has spurred Tottenham into life, with Ramos' men passing with superb tempo.
32 - GOAL!!! Keane puts Spurs in front! Chimbonda, who has plenty of time to pick his pass, robs Corluka and rolls the ball into the path of Keane. The Irishman fires an effort first-time with his left foot across Hart and into the top corner. A terrific finish.
27 - Madness: Firstly, Dawson blocks a close-range strike with his chest/arm. There are appeals for a penalty, but they are denied. Then, Elano curls one past Robinson, but Dawson is there to clear off the line. Some excitement, finally!
24 - Sluggish: Both sides' defences are enjoying easy rides as neither front line is attacking with any gusto or purpose. In other news, Rob Cregeen has emailed in venting his frustrations as Ramos' decision no to involve Aaron Lennon from the start against PSV on Wednesday. Do any of you Spurs fans concur? Has Lennon managed to recapture his excellent form of last season? Drop me a line at James.Dall@bskyb.com. With regards to City, how about some thoughts on January signing Benjani? Will he prove to be a success?
19 - Class: Berbatov hits a wicked reverse ball to Keane, but the Irishman is offisde.
17 - Thoughts: The game has not been lightening in the opening stages, but both sides are willing to commit. A goal would definitely blow the encounter wide open. Get in touch at James.Dall@bskyb.com
13 - Too much: Hutton's pass from the back is just overhit as the flag stays down and Keane speeds in on goal. Hart is quickly off his line, though, and gathers with ease.
12 - Disjointed: It has all gone a little scrappy. However, just as I open my big mouth, Spurs put together a quality move which results in Jenas ballooning over from the edge of the area.
10 - Danger: Benjani fires a tantalising ball between Robinson and his defence, but Spurs manage to scrape clear.
6 - Drive: Benjani does his best to burst through the Spurs defence, but Woodgate stands strong and clears the ball for a corner.
4 - Chance: Spurs break with pace, and Hutton finds Keane down the right. Lennon is waiting at the far post, but Keane opts to bend one with the outside of his boot, and the ball floats wide. Remember - you can get in contact at James.Dall@bskyb.com
2 - Bright: Both sides have begun the game well, demonstrating some tidy passing. A word for Castillo, who just drew applause from the home fans after a pacey and impressive run.
Kick-off: Tottenham get the game underway.
Pre-match chatter: My fellow colleague Rob Parrish, who is enjoying a day off today (I am not jealous, honest), plumped for a 1-1 draw in his preview of the encounter. I shall not reveal my inkling, but invite you to fire in some thoughts at James.Dall@bskyb.com. Ramos' men suffered penalty shoot-out agony during midweek and will be keen to bounce back, while City will be out to rectify their wavering form - they have managed just one win in seven.
Man City team: Hart, Corluka, Onuoha, Dunne, Garrido, Ireland, Gelson, Johnson, Castillo, Elano, Benjani. Subs: Isaksson, Geovanni, Vassell, Jihai, Caicedo.
Tottenham team: Robinson, Hutton, Woodgate, Dawson, Chimbonda, Lennon, Jenas, Zokora, Malbranque, Berbatov, Keane. Subs: Cerny, Tainio, Huddlestone, Bent, O'Hara.
Good afternoon, evening or morning - depending on where you are in the world - and welcome to skysports.com's live commentary from Eastlands. Before I crack on with a wordy and elaborate intro which will inevitably set the scene and get your mouths watering, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to get in touch at James.Dall@bskyb.com with your thoughts, perdictions and general musings.
