Full-time Chelsea 2 Arsenal 1. Chelsea have done it, it's all over in the capital. Drogba has once more emerged as Chelsea's matchwinner. A sparkling second half came to life when Arsenal took the lead but it was not to be as Drogba had the final say. Many thanks for all your contributions.
95 - Cudicini has the ball in his hands. Surely this is it now. A wonderful result for Chelsea, a miserable one for Chelsea.
93 - Chelsea are so desperate for the three points that Anelka is making slide tackles. I've seen it all now.
91 - Almunia is out of his goal to deny Kalou as Chelsea break on the counter. Drogba's pass was, though, overhit and Arsenal won back possession.
Five minutes of stoppage time are held up. The Chelsea fans are less than happy, the Arsenal fans look very much despondent. Is their title bid coming to an end this afternoon? They don't look like scoring.
87 - Chelsea respond as Mikel comes on for Joe Cole. It's a massive, massive last few minutes with regards the title race.
86 - Arsenal sub Bendtner is on for Flamini. Arsenal to go long.
84 - Flamini just fails to get onto Fabregas' scooped pass. My Gooner friends are in disbelief. Gareth and Anne are pouring themselves a generous drink. I think they'll need it and as for Tanyel....
81 - Fabulous save from Almunia denies Drogba his hat-trick. A wonderfully crisp effort from the Chelsea striker, via Belletti's pullback, looked destined for the bottom corner - only for Almunia to pull off a wonder save. Fantastic football.
A Chelsea ball was floated into the box and after Anelka got in a flicked header, Drogba peeled off Toure before firing into the ground. Almunia got a strong hand to it but the ball crept in. Credit must go to Mr 'you don't know what you're doing' Grant.
80 - DROGBA has done it again!!!!! Goal for Chelsea. Poor defending by Toure allowed Drogba a sight on goal and he buried his effort.
Should Drobga have been sent-off upon finding a leveller? Andy certainly thinks so. The Chelsea man took off his shirt and went into the crowd - both technically are yellow card offences. Any thoughts?
75 - Theo Walcott is on for a tired Van Persie. Can the stalet add something to a fascinating contest or will the game bypass him? Come on Theo, time to show your true worth.
74 - It's frenetic here but I'll try and keep you up to date. Van Persie has just shanked wide when played through, while at the other end, Anelka has produced almost a carbon copy in drilling wide when played in by Cole. The Chelsea fans were fuming at Grant's substitutions - that was until they worked to perfection. A football fan is nothing if not fickle.
Carvalho launched from back to front and after Lampard failed to get his shot off, the ball broke to Drogba who thumped a daisy-cutter past Almunia. Drogba was booked for taking his shirt off. Clearly not a fan of muscles.
GOAL for Chelsea!!! Drogba has levelled matters with a drilled finish from 12 yards.
70 - Arsenal sub I spoke too soon. Diaby is on for Sagna. Eboue will move into right-back.
69 - Chelsea subs Makelele and Ballack - cue surprise from the home side - are taken off for Balletti and Anelka. Sagna is back on and Carvalho is heavily bandaged - looks like Mr Butcher.
68 - Ballack blows his big chance with a half volley from around eight yards. The German fired into the ground as Almunia darted across his goal to gather.
66 - Chelsea prepare subs as Belletti and Anelka make their way to the touchline. Sagna looks as though he's coming off.
65 - Sagna and Carvalho are both being treated for injuries. Arsenal's goalscorer is holding his leg, while Carvalho is having a wound on his head treated.
63 - Gallas clears over his own bar after Kalou had turned his marker, who had got far too tight on the forward. The Frenchman has been immaculate on his return to West London.
Pressure is on Grant now as he's left to contemplate how to change his pack. What should the Chelsea chief do? Introduce Anelka?
60 - Cashly Cole left to ponder how he's not found a leveller. Joe Cole's flighted pass found the full-back free in Arsenal's box but he got his bearings all wrong. How he would have loved a goal against his former club.
Fabregas floated in a clipped corner from the left that found Sagna, who had escaped his marker. With a deft header the full-back flicked past Cudicini. Why no defenders on the line?
58 - GOAL for Arsenal!!! Sagna has done it from a corner with a clever near post header.
56 - Adebayor fails to find the right contact following a splendid Arsenal move. Patiently they worked the ball to their attacking talisman but after working a yard, his shot was meek and Cudicini breathed a sigh of relief. Good football though by the away side.
54 - Excellent Gallas tackle on Drogba does enough to make the Chelsea man fire over the top when well placed. It was an astute pass from Makelele that put in the striker but his former team-mate did just enough to ensure parity remained.
53 - Curtis the Red opts for a 2-2 draw but I'm confident one goal will prove enough this afternoon. Josias is waiting for a Van Persie special.
51 - Makelele is not happy and it's not hard to see why. Eboue handled in the centre of the field but it was the Chelsea man that was penalised. Thankfully, he showed his experience in quelling his protestations.
49 - Arsenal survive a Chelsea corner as Terry caused consternation with a header back across goal. Ballack was eventually penalised for fouling Sagna. Both teams are really going for the three points on the evidence of the football thus far in the second half.
48 - Lampard so close to getting onto Joe Cole's slide-rule pass but Arsenal clear. On the counter, Arsenal swept forward but Clichy's pass squandered a good opportunity.
47 - Hleb nearly plays in Adebayor with a gloriously disguised pass but again Essien is on hand to clear. Excellent start from the Wenger boyz.
46 - Early chance for Arsenal as Flamini is found in space at the back post. Cudicini made a brilliant stop to deny the Frenchman.
Chelsea kick-off the second half. Let's hope for more of the same but with a couple of goals for good measure.
Greetings from La Manga as Tom and Mary Dean pine for an Arsenal win. They could be desolate if Jo Robinson calls it right with a prediction of 2-1 to Chelsea. Still, they can't really lose in the sun. Win or lose - hit the cocktails. Curtis, a die-in-the-wool Red Devil will settle for a draw. Let's not get greedy Mr Farthling.
Cheer up Tanyel Kazim So young and yet so despondent. At 14 he's a massive Gooner but can't see anything but a Chelsea win. From Cape Town, Gareth is a model of optimism and predicts an Arsenal win, while Anne's emailed to say she's too engrossed to email. Rob, a Toon fan, is not used to chasing trophies but wants the title to stay in the glorious north so predicts a draw. Thanks for all your emails and keep them coming.
Half-time Chelsea 0 Arsenal 0. A frenetic half played in the right spirit. Stay tuned as I look through the mailbook for your verdicts.
45 - Almunia saves in an unconventional fashion from Cole's drilled delivery across goal. Arsenal's keeper used his feet to clear from a clutch of blue shirts. Clever goalkeeping.
44 - Penalty shout for Chelsea as Toure challenges into the back of Kalou. The home crowd somewhat predictably cried foul but the referee failed to concur. I'm inclined to agree with the match offical.
42 - Excellent tracking back from Fabregas allows Almunia to smother at the feet of Joe Cole - fantastic defending. Moments earlier, Ballack drilled a half volley into the ground that Almunia saved at his near post.
41 - Big let off for Gunners as Kalou contrives to miss his kick from a couple of yards. Another excellent chance to open the scoring as Arsenal clear at the last.
40 - Kolo Toure holds his head in his hands after being guilty of a horrible miss. A flighted corner was right on the money six or seven yards out but the big defender could only head across goal. Gallas, from no more than a yard, hit the post but was called off-side. Toure's was the real miss.
39 - Corner for Arsenal off Essien.
Too close to call for me, but what are your thoughts? Very little to choose between the two sides of yet. Any predictions?
35 - The excellent Carvalho clears when under pressure from Van Persie in the box. In the first one-on-one contest Adebayor did Terry for pace down the right, before putting in an inviting cross.
33 - Ballack booked for a little trip on Hleb. Seems a bit harsh for the tackle alone but the German appeared to give a little verbals; so perhaps he too has talked his way into the book.
31 - Joe Cole booked for a late tackle on Van Persie on the edge of Arsenal's box. The England man had been robbed of possession and reacted by bringing down the Arsenal man. He can have no complaints.
Warning for Eboue as he tries to talk his way into trouble. Already booked, he'd be wise to keep it shut. I bet Mr Masherano wishes he'd done likewise earlier in the afternoon.
28 - Eboue forces instinctive stop from Cudicini after prodding for goal after Adebayor had failed to get a true connection on Clichy's cross. Good chance for the wide man.
26 - Almunia again in action as he charges off his line to thwart Drogba. The goalkeeper used his head, literally, to clear for a throw-in.
24 - Loose Drogba touch lets Arsenal off the hook. A long punt from Terry caught the Gunners square and when through on goal, Drogba's touch was heavy and straight into the arms of a grateful Almunia.
23 - Van Persie pulls the trigger and works Cudicini low to his right. Cesc and Hleb are starting to work well in tandem having created the chance.
21 - Toure needs strong header to clear as Chelsea up the tempo. Excellent play by Cole down the left ended with a flighted cross but Arsenal, on the stretch, managed to clear.
18 - Eboue lobs for goal but Terry is allowed to clear with Cudicini out of his goal. Decent effort by the right-sider. Very much an end-to-end affair to date. Hleb has come infield and is becoming increasingly influential.
16 - Drogba worry Anelka is warming up as the Ivorian rubs his thigh before making it over to the touchline. I'll keep you updated.
15 - Chelsea sweep upfield and a bright move concludes with Ballack firing a volley into the chest of Almunia. Comfortable save for Arsenal's Spanish hairdresser.
14 - Van Persie fires over having worked half a yard with a clever dummy that fooled Essien. The Dutchman looks sharp and could prove invaluable in the run in.
11 - Poor passing continues to punctuate proceedings. Essien surged down the right with vigour, before tossing the ball away with a miserable ball infield.
10 - Game yet to really settle as both sides test each other out. No quarter has been given and it could be a while yet before Arsenal can get their flowing football going. Lampard and Ballack have both rushed passes in the past couple of minutes. Chelsea look very, very hungry though. And not just Frank.
8 - Terrible waste from Sagna as he plays a pub league pass into touch when in space. Eboue was like a child deprived of rusks in his complaining. Can't blame him though as Arsenal had men over.
Support from Hawaii as Anne issues a rallying call for the Gunners. Andy from Ealing is more cautious and has warned that Arsenal need to win to have any chance of the title.
6 - Home side attack as Arsenal are on the backfoot early. Almunia has to be out of his goal to claim in the middle of the box from an Essien long throw.
4 - Chelsea chance as Ballack eventually gets to take the aforementioned free-kick. Almunia gathered comfortably at his near post.
4 - Eboue booked for charging down Drogba's free-kick. He was about a yard away when the Ivorian struck. Silly booking.
3 - Drogba wins free-kick on the edge of Arsenal's box after being felled by Gallas. Good chance for Chelsea.
2 - Decent start by both sides as Van Persie gets free down Chelsea's right but his cross is blocked. At the other end, Joe Cole made inroads but failed to find a telling delivery. A good crisp start to the contest.
1 - Ballack concedes first free-kick for tugging back Toure. The ball is pumped upfield but Ashley Cole wins back possession - and is greeted with a thunderous welcome from the home fans.
1 - Arsenal kick-off here in West London. The atmosphere is electric but will the football match it?
Wenger and Grant are all smiles pre-match as they exchange handshakes. Who will be smiling in 90 minutes?
Sulky sermons William Gallas had his Arsenal team-mates in a huddle before kick-off to issue a chest-beating motivational talk. 'Look lads, if anything goes wrong we stick together, no histrionics, no tantrums, it's all about the team.' Eboue looked on, managing to stave off a coma with a yawn. Any of your thoughts throughout the afternoon will be appreciated. Should be a capital cracker.
Team news Good to see Robin van Persie back in the big time following a miserable spell with injuries this season. The Dutchman was widely tipped to be this season's outstanding player but has spent more time on his couch watching Jeremy Kyle than on the pitch. For Chelsea, big Didier Drogba has got the nod ahead of Nicolas Anelka to lead the line, with Kalou and the in-form Joe Cole providing support from the flanks.
Arsenal Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Eboue, Fabregas, Flamini, Hleb, Adebayor, Van Persie. Subs: Lehmann, Diaby, Senderos, Bendtner, Walcott.
Chelsea Cudicini, Essien, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Ballack, Makelele, Lampard, Joe Cole, Drogba, Kalou. Subs: Hilario, Obi, Alex, Belletti, Anelka.
