Dilan has asked if I think Theo Walcott will take on the role as a midfielder instead of a striker this season. I think he is likely to start on the wing today, although, if Arsenal are pushing for goals, he could move up to support Adebayor and Bendtner in attack.

Arsenal hand a debut to £12million midfielder Samir Nasri for the opening Premier League game of the new season against promoted West Brom at the Emirates Stadium. With Cesc Fabregas out injured, the Frenchman looks set to partner 20-year-old Brazilian Denilson in the centre of midfield. Nicklas Bendtner comes into the attack alongside Emmanuel Adebayor, with Robin van Persie rested to the bench following his midweek exploits in the Champions League qualifier against FC Twente. Teenagers Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are also among the Arsenal substitutes. West Brom - who won the Championship last season - have Abdoulaye Meite and keeper Scott Carson making their debuts.
