Redknapp: Returns to old club
Thanks for being with me for a great game today. A fair result in the end, but Pompey won't be happy. See you next time.
Well. I'm exhausted after that frantic finish! Two sendings off and three goals here at Fratton Park, but it's Spurs who go home with the three points.
Phil Dowd calls time here!
90+4 Great cross from Kaboul but Boateng's header goes the wrong way!
90+3 Michael Brown brings down Lennon and picks up a second yellow.
90+2 Pompey break and Dindane wins the corner. Last chance surely for the home side.
90+1 Assou-Ekotto is also booked after responding to the tackle
90+1 Michael Brown fouls Assou-Ekotto on the edge of the box
90 Five minutes of time added on here. Lennon breaks through on goal but his shot dribbles wide!
88 Pompey attack but the cross is just about claimed by Gomes.
86 Utaka comes on for Finnan
86 There is no penetration for Pompey at the moment. Belhadj comes in at the backpost with a wild swipe that goes miles over.
85 Palacios is booked
84 Crouch wins a corner off Ben Haim. They are not in any rush to take it. It goes short and Pompey win the ball back.
83 Michael Dawson comes on for Tom Huddlestone who has had a very good game for Spurs.
82 Crouch has worked his socks off since he's come on but he's had very little service since the sending off.
81 Free-kick to Pompey on the left edge of the area. Belhadj crosses but Yebda's header goes over at the near post.
80 Great chance Piquionne! He heads it across goal but there is no-one there for Portsmouth!
79 Kaboul is advancing down the right, more like a winger than a defender! Bassong heads a cross into touch and it is a corner.
78 It's all Portsmouth now as the 10-man Spurs try and hold out for the win here.
77 Pompey try and turn the screw and Piquionne wins the corner on the right. They take it short and Finnan crosses but Piquionne's header is onto the ground.
76 Mokoena comes off and Belhadj comes on. Strange sub in my opinion.
75 Kaboul advances once more down the right. Piquionne is offside though.
74 Cross from Kaboul but Gomes claims well. Mokoena is getting all the ball for Pompey in this second half. Boateng gets across Corluka but mis-hits the shot.
73 Spurs are trying to sure it up but Pompey are starting to press. They need something from this game.
72 Yebda strikes it but is sails over the bar. Wasted opportunity.
71 Assou-Ekotto fouls Piquionne. Dangerous free-kick for Pompey.
70 Pompey make a swift break but Piquionne tries a back-heel that goes out for a goal-kick.
Lee Everitt was right to say Robbie Keane was anonymous. He hardly touched the ball! Ryan Cachia reckons 3-2 Pompey.
69 Corluka fouls Boateng and Spurs look to collect themselves again. Huddlestone has a crack but it goes well wide.
68 Gomes really is a mystery man. He has made some great saves in this match but then has looked like a pub goalkeeper at some points!
68 What a save from Gomes! Yebda lashes a volley from inside the box but the 'keeper paws it out!
67 Spurs are doing well with 10 men at the moment. Pompey need to regain the momentum.
66 Kranjcar comes off for Palacios. Defensive move from Redknapp.
65 Spurs are keeping the ball well and trying to slow the tempo down. Crouch is looking very lively.
65 James comes out really well as Lennon breaks through down the right.
64 Smith makes way for Piquionne
64 Crouch fires just wide! Great work from the striker who jinked round the defence but flashed the shot wide.
63 What has happened in the last few minutes! The game has gone into a different gear! Defoe off against his old club and Pompey are back in it!
62 Red card for Defoe! He stamps on Mokoena and Phil Dowd has no choice!
60 Dindane has missed another great chance! With the goal gaping he puts it wide after Smith pulled it back.
59 Great save from Gomes! Smith gets put through over the top and he tries to lob the 'keeper but Gomes claws it away!
58 Dindane breaks down the right and puts the ball in but Gomes claims it well.
57 Peter Crouch comes on for Robbie Keane.
56 Huddlestone heads clear and Boateng's shot is charged down from the rebound.
55 Smith gets a second bite of the cherry but Gomes punches clear. Another corner though...
55 Crouch is warming up on the sideline. In the meantime Pompey win a corner off Corluka.
54 Dindane gets put through but his left-foot shot goes wide. Good defending from King who didn't dive in.
53 Assou-Ekotto gets caught on the ball but wins a throw off Smith. Pompey attack and Mokoena has a shot that flies over the bar.
51 Mokoena fouls Jenas on the touchline and he picks up a booking.
50 Spurs win threecorners in quick succession. Kranjcar puts it in and Huddlestone gets a shot in that's blocked a few yards out. Good chance!
49 Big shout for a penalty for Pompey. Gomes and Corluka get in a mix-up and the defender looked to have handballed it. No pen though.
48 Swift break from Spurs but Wilson clears an Assou-Ekotto cross. At the other end Dindane has a shot turned down.
47 Pompey have gone 4-3-3 here. Dindane goes down in the box but no real appeals for a penalty.
46 Pompey try and get back into it but Gomes comes out smartly to clear a bouncing ball in the box.
45 No changes at half time as the second half kicks off
Meanwhile George Pocock reckons it is going to be another 5-0 whitewash for the North London club.
Jez Jewkes thinks 'the only way the pompy players are gonna score today is if they take a leaf out of darren bents book and aim for some misplaced balloons!'
Conor Thomas reckons Spurs are going to win 3-0 with Crouch coming off the bench to find the back of the net. Stephane Mehmet also reckons Tottenham are going to come out on top 3-1.
It is going to require a monumental comeback for Portsmouth to get anything from this game in the second-half.
The referee blows for the break. 2-0 Spurs at Fratton Park.
45+1 That could be game set and match here. Lovely goal from Spurs but poor defending from the home side.
45 Can Pompey snatch a goal before the break? They come forward but Boateng is offside - he's had a terrible half.
44 Great cross from Assou-Ekotto but Kranjcar and Keane didn't react quick enough and it goes all the way across goal.
43 Ben Haim makes a good block on a Lennon shot. Spurs press and Brown concedes a throw.
41 Spurs win another corner, needlessly conceded by Kaboul. Kranjcar crosses but James claims it well this time.
40 Terrible ball from Boateng. Just hits the first man in the form of Keane - wasted opportunity.
40 Kranjcar fouls Boateng on the edge of the box. Stupid foul and Pompey can cross now.
39 Smith attacks down the left but when the ball comes central Bassong smacks it clear.
38 Boateng has another shot but it is blocked by King. He's trying a bit too hard to grab the headlines against his old club.
37 Paul Hart's men need some inspiration here. They look lacklustre all over the pitch.
36 Huddlestone heads clear well. Boateng has a shot from the second ball but it's a poor effort.
35 The game would have been so different had Dindane scored that earlier chance. Pompey win a free-kick in the Spurs half.
34 Pompey attack down the right but Boateng catches Robbie Keane with a trailing leg.
33 Can Paul Hart's men respond? They look a bit shellshocked out there.
32 King has missed the last three games but that was a great leap. A good goal from the skipper and Spurs attack again.
30 Spurs attack and win another corner. Lennon is running rings round Ben Haim at right back.
29 Wilson is put under pressure at the back but he clears well. Pompey attack and Brown has a shot from range but it's an easy save.
28 Dindane is causing a few problems for the Spurs defence. Defoe handballs at the other end - its not his day so far.
27 Pompey clear the corner well. Having seen a replay off the Gomes save it gets better each time you see it.
26 Spurs attack now down the right. Lennon gets past Ben Haim and gets the corner.
25 Free-kick to Pompey within shooting range. Great save from Gomes after Kaboul's shot deflected goalwards!
25 Jenas picks up the yellow for a foul on Boateng.
24 Corner to Spurs after Ben Haim mis-times his header. Corluka gets the header on it but not decisive contact.
23 Dindane tries to break through and King and Gomes nearly get in a tangle. The 'keeper didn't look convincing there.
22 The game continues after the pause. The pace has settled down now, who can take the impetus?
21 Dindane goes down after a challenge from Bassong. The game is paused temporarily.
20 Defoe is clattered on the touchline, no foul though. The Pompey fans loved that!
19 Another corner to Pompey after good work from Ben Haim. Smith crosses but Corluka clears.
18 Defoe is battling hard up front trying to amend for his earlier misses. Phil Dowd has a word with Joe Jordan on the touchline.
17 Gomes punches the ball clear but Pompeu keep pressing. Boateng has a decent shot and the keeper claims well.
16 Pompey try and exert a bit of pressure and Yebda wins the corner off King.
15 Boateng tries a shot from the half-way line! Not a bad effort but it was extremely optimistic!
14 That's one of the misses of the season. He won't want to see that again.
13 Dindane misses an absolute sitter! Smith crosses from the left and Dindane misses from two yards out! Over the bar!
12 Pompey need to wake up. Dindane is caught offside and they can't really hold on to the ball.
11 Defoe could have had a hat-trick by now! He really should have scored there!
10 Defoe hits the post! Huddlestone put him through on goal but his shot rebounds off the upright! Great chance!
9 Dindane gets a head on the ball but it flashes across goal. There was no-one at the far post!
8 Pompey cross from a quick free-kick. The ball is put back in and Bassong concedes a corner.
7 Lennon crosses but Defoe can't quite get his head on it. Great work from the winger and Defoe should have done a lot better.
6 It has been a lively start here with Spurs looking dangerous when they come forward.
5 David James! What is he doing! He dallies on the ball and its charged down by Defoe. Luckily it hits the striker's arm.
4 Another free-kick to Pompey. Boateng whips it in but it can't beat the first defender.
3 Chance for Defoe! The defence opens up but his shot is straight at James!
2 Pompey put the ball in the box but it goes straight out for a goal kick.
1 Defoe commits a foul straight away. No yellow card though from referee Phil Dowd
1 The game kicks off here
Harry Redknapp comes out and is surrounded by photographers at Fratton Park.
Who will win this crunch encounter today? Pompey need the points, but are going to have to be at their best to beat an in-form Spurs outfit.
Scott Manger and Phil Braham, both Spurs fans, think Crouch should have started today, but they are both tipping Tottenham to go on and win anyway.
