FT: Tottenham 0 Stoke 1

Well what a result for Tony Pulis's side! Real smash and grab stuff at the Lane! Thanks for joining me today. I'll see you next time.

Full Time It's all over here! Stoke have won for the first time at White Hart Lane since 1977!

90+5 Corner for Spurs now....

90+4 Are we going to have another chance at the death? It's all route one from Spurs but Stoke clear again.

90+2 The ball nearly breaks for Dawson going forward but Stoke scramble it clear. Kranjcar goes down in the box but no penalty for Spurs.

90+1 Kranjcar's cross is easily claimed by Simonsen. Stoke break but Tuncay is just offside.

90 Shot from Jenas that looked goalbound but it strikes Dawson. Five minutes of added time signalled here and Spurs win the corner.

Substitution89 Higginbotham comes on for Ricardo Fuller, the creator of the goal.

88 10 man Spurs can't touch the ball now. This will be a famous win for the Potters if they can hold on.

87 Tuncay holds onto it now for City. They just need to keep possession now!

86 Unbelievable stuff here at White Hart Lane! Great strength from Fuller and what a finish!

Goal86 WHELAN SCORES FOR STOKE! Great work from Fuller down the right and he curls it in of the far post!

84 Another foul on Jenas who has made an impact here. Another chance from a free-kick but Tuncay clears from Kranjcar's cross.

83 Jenas hits it, it gets over the wall but it's over the bar.

82 Chance from the free-kick here now and Jenas is lining it up.

Yellow Card81 Bad tackle from Diao on Jenas after he broke forward.

80 Crouch appeals for a penalty against Shawcross after a tussle but nothing given.

79 Tuncay has a shot for Stoke after a good break but it is just wide!

78 Lennon has gone down the tunnel to receive treatment and Spurs are down to 10 men with no subs remaining.

78 Corluka is played in down the right but Etherington comes in with a crunching tackle.

Yellow Card76 Glenn Whelan is booked

Feedback76 Jacob Brown says: "With Le Arse next week we can't afford a slip up here,, not getting all 3 points is a slip up, Come on you spurs. A little bit of Lennon magic to create a chance"

75 Gomes catches a Whelan cross and now Spurs can break. Pavlyuchenko has the shot but it's tame and dribbles through to the keeper.

74 Tuncay has a half-chance but he scuffs his shot into the ground! Spurs need to be careful at the back.

73 Dawson gets his head on the corner but the ball falls to Salif Diao and he hacks it away.

72 Great fist away from Simonsen! The ball is crossed for Crouch at the backpost and the keeper knocks it away for a corner! Crouch is down injured now though.

71 Bassong sweeps up well at the back for Spurs, who have had all the possession but can't breakthrough.

Substitution70 Huddlestone is replaced by Jenas

Substitution69 Tuncay comes on for Beattie

69 Spurs are lacking a bit of creativity going forward. Surely Jenas is going to come on soon?

68 Crouch again wins the header in the box but it goes high and never threatening to find the back of the net.

67 Pavlyuchenko has a shot from outside the box but it was always going over the bar.

66 Crouch is fouled by Shawcross and Collins makes a vital interception with Lennon lurking.

65 Corluka puts in a ball to the box after Beattie gave it away. It was threaded into a lovely area but no-one came in at the backpost.

64 One goal is surely going to win this one. Who has enough guile and determination to nick it?

Substitution63 Keane makes way for Pavlyuchenko with Huddlestone given the captain's armband.

62 Poor touch by Kranjcar twice in a row there. Fuller nearly passes it back to Keane but Simonsen scrambles it away!

60 Huddlestone wins the corner after his shot is blocked by Danny Collins. It's off the line again from the corner! Crouch is thwarted by a combination of Beattie and Simonsen!

59 Stoke are defending these crosses stoutly. Whitehead gets a knock but he was brave in the aerial challenge.

58 Crouch tries to latch onto an Assou-Ekotto cross but can't get enough contact on the header.

Substitution57 Whelan comes on for Rory Delap. No more long throws!

56 Stoke are on top now. Fuller flicks it on but the ball is tidied up by Corluka.

Feedback Andrew Morris says: "Bring on bale for kranjar..more width and much better free kicks. Surely bentley could do a job in a game like this but he's not even on the bench. Harry is hard to understand at times."

55 Great chance for Beattie! Etherington crosses and the striker gets a head on it but it goes wide. He got a little nudge from Assou-Ekotto there.

54 Corluka crosses but it is cleared, it falls to Huddlestone though and he shoots... but wide.

53 Delap tries to cross but it goes 20 yards beyond anyone. Very poor. But the Spurs faithful are getting a bit frustrated now.

51 Stoke are coming into the game more but Spurs break down the left. Lennon tries to find Keane but it's intercepted. Palacios then gets the chance to cross but his cross is awful.

50 Free-kick to Stoke on the right but Etherington's cross is cleared. Salif Diao has a volley from the second ball and it goes wide.

49 Nice interplay from Huddlestone and Kranjcar but Crouch's cross is easily collected by the keeper.

48 Great save from Simonsen and then Crouch is denied! Keane hits it across goal, it's saved and then Whitehead scoops it away with Crouch ready to pounce!

48 That was poor from the Croatian. Stoke try and attack but they aren't posing a threat at all.

47 Kranjcar hits the free-kick but it dribbles through to Simonsen - easy save.

46 Lennon is brought down on the edge of the area by Salif Diao. Free-kick.

46 The game restarts for the second half

Woodgate is just feeling groggy - no serious injury.

Feedback John Robins reckons Beattie is going to snatch a winner for Stoke in the second half, and Declan Moore wants Jenas to come on after the break.

Well, two unbelievable clearances at each end in that half - Woodgate for Spurs and Beattie for Stoke - but the away team will be very happy with their display so far.

Half Time The referee blows for half-time here.

45+3 Lennon breaks down the left and his cross is smacked clear by Faye. Wilkinson is fouled by Crouch from the resulting throw.

45+3 Tony Pulis will be happy with his team's first half display. Etherington gets forward down the left but his cross is poor.

45+2 Diao and Beattie link up well and Wilkinson then snaps into the challenge on Lennon. Stoke pressing really well here.

45 Keane is muscled off the ball by the big defender Faye. Impossible for Keane to do anything against that!

44 Three minutes of added time signalled by the fourth official.

43 Palacios puts a lovely ball over the top for Keane but he is just offside - Shawcross stepped up well there.

42 Another throw falls to Beattie but his cross is blocked. Wilkinson puts it long but Gomes claims.

41 Spurs have lost their way a bit here. Huddlestone is having a poor game so far. Will Jenas come on after the break?

40 Another long throw for Delap. It falls to Fuller, but his shot is blocked. It comes back to Delap but his cross is headed clear.

38 Stoke come forward with Fuller but he can't produce a telling final pass.

37 Free-kick to Tottenham. Kranjcar puts it in the box but it's poor and Simonsen claims with ease.

36 Can City create anything in attack? They have defended well but they don't look like scoring.

35 Huddlestone tries a ball over for Corluka but Etherington tracks it right out of play. Stoke are coming more into it now.

34 Fuller gets between the defenders and tries a half volley from inside the area - but it goes high and wide.

33 Fuller is exposed on his own up front but he gets his first real run on the ball. Throw in to Stoke but Delap's throw is well cleared once more.

32 Keane goes down under the challenge of Shawcross but the referee keeps the whistle in his pocket.

31 Stoke are defending stoutly, but surely it is just a matter of time before Spurs get on the scoresheet.

30 Dawson is strong and sheperds the ball out for a goal-kick. Fuller got himself booked pointlessly there, but he has hardly touched the ball so far.

Yellow Card29 Fuller has talked his way into the book

29 Salif Diao has a shot at the other end but it trickles past the post and wide.

28 Kranjcar hits the post! He one-twos with Crouch and strikes a shot from outside the box that clips the woodwork!

27 Brilliant clearance from James Beattie! Crouch gets up yet again but Beattie gets back to clear the ball off the line! Unbelievable!

26 The ball is put in for Shawcross but his header does not get any power and it goes out for a goal kick.

25 Free-kick to Stoke after Palacios jumped with Dean Whitehead. The arm was up from Palacios but no card shown.

24 Kranjcar crosses deep and the ball breaks to Bassong who hits a shot wide of the target.

23 Great save from Simonsen! Lennon twisted inside and cracked a curler at goal but it's palmed away!

22 Diao catches Huddlestone late there. Spurs try and attack but Wilkinson does well to muscle Keane off the ball.

21 Yet another long throw to Delap. He lanches it in, Bassong wins the header and Gomes collects.

20 Lennon has been bright so far and he uses trickery to beat a few City players. Kranjcar gives it away though.

19 Long throw from Delap on the left. He bombs it in but it finds no-one.

Feedback Jacob Brown thinks: "big acid test today for the boys,, hopefully woody will give some stability and with sargent wilson back we will have enough bite to get past a very underrated stoke outfit." Sorry Jacob, Woody's already gone.

Feedback George Pocock says: "I predict a 3-1 victory for Spurs, Come on you Spurs!"

17 Stoke will need to defend a bit higher up to stop Spurs having all this possession.

16 Palacios looks composed in the centre of midfield today. Spurs are just passing it in front of the Stoke box. Kranjcar has a shot from range but it's straight at Simonsen.

15 That's unlucky for Woodgate. He has been blighted by injuries but he did brilliantly to prevent that goal early on.

Substitution14 Dawson comes on for the heroic Woodgate

13 Huddlestone has a shot with his left foot from outside the box but it goes over. Stoke are defending very deep at the moment.

12 Great save from Simonsen! Crouch lept like a salmon and his looping header was clawed out.

11 Huddlestone sprays an excellent ball to Corluka. Lennon then crosses for Crouch at the backpost but Simonsen tips it out for a corner.

10 Asssou-Ekotto tries a little slide cross into the near post for Robbie Keane but it goes through to the keeper.

9 Huddlestone is dispossesed in midfield. With Fabio Capello in the crowd he won't want to make any more mistakes.

8 Stoke come forward now but it is all long ball football at the moment. A real physical game so far.

Feedback Conor Thomas says: "Tough game of football today, but i think we will win 2-0 with keane getting one and pavlyuchenko getting the other if he gets on"

7 Simonsen gets his first touch as Lennon jinks and crosses but the keeper claims well.

6 Etherington gets in behind for Stoke but he is just offside. Stoke have made an bright start here.

5 Gomes collects the ball well for Spurs. Corluka tries the long ball but no-one is there down the flank.

4 That was great defending from Woodgate. Phenomenal stuff! Now Stoke have a corner though.

3 Let off for Spurs! Great header from Woodgate after Etherington smashed it across goal! Heroic defending!

3 Woodgate hoofs the ball clear and looks comfortable in the opening minutes. Delap launches a long throw in but the defender heads clear.

2 Palacios wins a header in his return to the side. How wil he do today?

1 Lennon gets an early touch but his cross is too long for Crouch.

1 The game starts here.

There has been a late change of personell for Spurs. Sorensen was ill in the warm up so Simonsen comes in between the sticks.

The teams are out at the Lane, can a Woodgate inspired Spurs go level at the top on points?

I have to agree with people on the email that Spurs will nick this one. But expect a bruising test against a tricky Stoke outfit. Peter Crouch will be desperate to make an impact in Jermain Defoe's absence, while James Beattie will be dangerous at the other end.

Feedback Meanwhile Lee Everitt says: "I'm predicting a 1-0 win for spurs. Don't think there is enough creativity for neither teams. And the Spurs bench seems just a bit weak. No one there who I would say could change a game."

Feedback Al donegan thinks: "Looking at that Stoke subs bench and I'm impressed by the quality they have in depth now compared to this fixture last year. Still think we'll be too strong for them though and am predicting a 3-1 Spurs victory."

Feedback Scott Manger says: "Spurs to win comfortably, glad woodgate is back and hopefully pavlyuchenko will get a start today."

The referee for the match is Lee Probert (Wiltshire).

Sky Bet Spurs are at 4/9 for the win today, with Stoke at 15/2 and the draw 3/1.

Stoke: Simonsen, Wilkinson, Abdoulaye Faye, Shawcross, Collins, Delap, Whitehead, Diao, Etherington, Fuller, Beattie. Subs: Higginbotham, Whelan, Lawrence, Kitson, Pugh, Sanli.
