FT: Fiorentina 3 Bayern Munich 2 (Agg: 4-4)

Full Time90+3 The game has finished, and despite a 3-2 defeat, Bayern go through on away goals in this outstanding Champions League match up. What a great game - hope you enjoyed it. Well done to Bayern, commiserations to Fiorentina. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

90+3 That's it! Bayern are through!

90+3 Klose offside. Final throw of the dice as Fiorentina hoist it forward.

90+2 Atmosphere has really simmered down here. Fiorentina can't even get the ball upfield to threaten for what would be the winner.

90+ Three minutes added time to be played.

Substitution90 Muller gets Natali landing on top of him. Pranjic comes on for Ribery in a late change for Bayern.

89 Munich free-kick, ten yards into the home side's half. Germans opt to continue knocking the ball around, Viola can't get close at the moment.

88 Munich literally toying with Viola. Eventually, after intricate build-up, Klose is ruled offside - harshly.

87 Alaba makes an excellent tackle to deny Fiorentina a crossing opportunity from the right.

86 Munich goal kick. Away side look comfortable in these last few moments.

Yellow Card85 Bayern taking their time over it. They eventually whip it in, and Frey punches it from on his own line. Booking for van Bommel for kicking De Silvestri.

84 Munich playing keep ball in the Fiorentina defensive third. Great to see at this tense stage, passing the ball about at ease. Ribery shows great feet to pick out Robben. He shoots - it deflects, nearly into the path of Klose, but the front man can't connect to the loose ball and its a corner.

83 Robben tries another ambitious shot, a bit closer than his goal. He's brimming full of confidence so you can't fault him having a go, despite his shot looking like the dog's breakfast.

82 Munich are so composed here, passing the ball around despite being under intense pressure. Keirrison, the Brazilian striker, comes on for Vargas in a positive change for the Viola.

81 Robben dashes past the home defence, beating four players with a delightful jinking run. No end product, however, and Fiorentina look to press.

80 Robben tries recreating his wonder hit, but to no avail as he skews it wide and out for a dead ball.

Substitution79 Robben floats into the six yard box. For some reason, Frey punches it out. Felipe departs in place of Pasqual in a like for like swop.

Yellow Card78 Felipe picks up a yellow for checking Lahm.

77 Robben nearly sets up a marvellous counter with a deft piece of skill, his reverse flick from Butt's high-kick finding Muller. Unfortunately the big striker can't return the ball with a simple 10-yard pass.

76 Bayern corner. Robben whips it in from the right, in-swinging. Frey flaps at it, before it is lashed clear.

75 Not much going on since those two goals in quick succession. Fiorentina are pressing and have the ball in the net, but Gilardino's expert finish is ruled out for offside.

74 Klose mucking in with defensive duties, popping up in the left-back position to clear his lines for the visitors.

73 Panic in the Bayern defence at the moment. Alaba loses possession in his own half, quite carelessly, as a cross is hashed behind by Van Buyten.

72 Klose is clumsily tripped by Felipe as Bayern break. Robben clears it in, looking for Klose, but Natali gets up well to head away the danger.

71 Alaba has the ball stolen off him by Zanetti, but Van Buyten cuts out the cross to aleviate the danger.

70 Twenty minutes left, of normal time at least. Butt nearly carries a loose ball over his goal line for a corner. The German spares his blushes, however, and sends the ball up field. He's been bailed out by his team mates after that error for the first Viola goal.

69 Natali cuts out Ribery's run as the winger looks to escape down the left flank, well-defended. Bit of calm after the storm here. Fiorentina need to go and attack again now, no doubt to their frustration having been 3-1 up.

68 Back to the game, then, and Ribery is felled so Munich have a free-kick. Frenchman Ribery clears his nostrils before striking an in-swinging free-kick towards Klose, who glances the header wide.

67 3-2 on the night, 4-4 on aggregate. Some top class finishing we're seeing here. Both sides look amazed - neither can quite believe that they've just exchanged goals and its now Bayern, for the first time in the night, are on top and are going through as it stands.

66 Right, let's have a breather here so I can tell you about the goals. First, Jovetic latches onto a header for Gilardino to make it 3-1. But Bayern kick off, Robben finds space, cuts inside and unleashes an unstoppable drive into the top corner. Great drama here! And as it stands, Munich are going through. Amazing how this tie has changed.

Goal64 GOAL! Robben - 3-3! Bayern are level!

Goal64 GOAL! Scrap that - 3-1 Fiorentina.

63 Ribery and Robben have been quiet this half, such is the attention afforded to them by the Fiorentina rearguard action. Its allowed room for Schweinsteiger and van Bommel, though, and they can now enjoy the room down the middle of the pitch. A dangerous precedent.

62 Crowd are stifled here now, and they've certainly simmered down as Bayern are now in the ascendency. Ribery finds room and lashes a ball high and wide.

60 What a lovely, crips finish from van Bommel, who, from the five yards outside the area, side foots into the bottom corner from a long, low pass from the left flank. Beautifully placed by the Munich captain, who has got his team into added time as it stands.

Goal60 GOAL! They're back in it, Bayern score to make it 2-1!

59 Schweinsteiger clips a cross in, but van Bommel nods it on and takes it away from Klose, much to the striker's bemusement.

58 Kroldrup makes an excellent recovering tackle, denying Klose as the German looks to work an angle from the inside left position of the box.

57 Fiorentina contuining their hard work in midfield and Bayern don't have a sniff at the moment. Purple shirts are constantly swarming around the ball.

55 Bayern need a goal to take this tie into extra time. They will have to improve massively in the remaining minutes. Klose nearly gets that goal as he lunges into the box and nearly stabs home Lahm's centre. Fortunately for Frey - the under-worked Viola keeper - the ball runs through and the danger is gone.

53 Tremendous work from the home side. Felipe drives a low cross into the box, which finds Gilardino. The tricky striker back heels - first time - into the path of Jovetic, who smashes the ball into the net to complete a lovely three-touch, three-man move. 2-0 now, and the quarters are the Italian side's sights.

Goal53 GOAL! 2-0 Fiorentina.

52 Alaba - making his debut as a 17-year-old - is getting booed every time he gets the ball.

51 Muller charges in on goal at the other end, but Kroldrup sweeps up and makes a great recovering challenge to thwart the German men.

50 And Gilardino should have made it 2-0 there. The striker gets the ball under his feet from six yards and tries digging it out. He can only find Butt, though, who makes a smart save with his feet.

49 Fiorentina are looking positive in these opening stages, looking a bit more positive in this second half. Seems like the hosts are going for a second goal that would more or less secure the win.

48 Schweinsteiger looks to the referee as he goes over, softly, and the ref waves play on. Vargas heads towards the goal, but hammers a shot off-balance into the stands.

47 Up-and-under from Kroldrup, who's rushed hoof goes into touch thanks to the wind.

46 A chance for Gilardino from a cross, who nips to the near post and sees his flick turned behind for a corner. The set piece is poor, though, and Bayern clear.

45 Eearly free-kick for the home side after Lahm sends Montolivo to the turf. Swing over by Vargas, deep to the far post, which Alaba heads away.

45 Fiorentina kick off to get us under way for the second period.

45 Ready for the second half? I know I am, as the teams emerge from the tunnel for this crucial second half.

Feedback "I personally think Fiorentina have a good chance of winning - they've played well so far and were unlucky to loose at Munich plus they are'nt doing very well in the Serie A."

Jonathan, from Italy.

Feedback "As a lifelong Viola fan, I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the game. Hope Fiorentina don't rest on their laurels too much in the second half, and hope the defensive frailties in the league don't cost us tonight too." Ian Rohman.

Sky Bet Fancy Bayern to turn this one around? That'll be 11/2 on Skybet.com's in-play betting service. See the website for more bets on this game and others.

Feedback Please send me your thoughts for this second-half, I'd love to know which way you think the tie is going to go. A goal for Bayern would totally chance the complexion of the match. Can they do it? Or will the the Viola continue to stifle their attempts at going forward. Let me know on danny.wright@bskyb.com.

Half Time45+1 Half way stage then as the refereee blows the whistle, 1-0 Fiorentina. At this stage, they're going through to the next stage of the Champions League. Absorbing half, if shy on chances.

45 Wind still hasn't died down and Butt's goal kick goes high into the sky, but a little shy of half way. Munich build down the right, with Klose heading wide from Lahm's centre. He can't direct it on target but a scent of an opening for Bayern, which they'll take heart from.

45 Badstuber shows a great piece of skill to take it away from a Fiorentina striker bearing down on him, a neat little turn sending his opponent the wrong way.

44 Montolivo is on the cusp of the Bayern box, but wastes his chance of putting a decent cross in by slicing it into touch.

43 More possession for Bayern, but they offer little in the final third. Fiorentina are working so hard to close them down, and press up the pitch as a unit. A great rearguard action.

42 Alaba bundles over Zanetti. Home team are trying to get the youngster booked, but, thankfully, the referee resists temptation and waves away their calls.

41 Munich look to create with Robben, but there is a pose of violet shirts around him to stifle his attempts to find some room.

40 Van Buyten carries the ball of defence, which is good. His pass, however, isn't, and his attempts to release Robben down the right result in a goal kick.

38 Marchionni is nudged to the floor by Schweinsteiger. It's a soft one, you have to say, and the game continues with Bayern clearing their lines.

37 The Frenchman nearly gets in behind the home defence from Schweinsteiger#s reverse pass, but Kroldrup cuts it out. Vital interception.

36 Lovely from Ribery, who manages to steal away from the intentions of two home players. He can't get his pass off and Fiorentina gratefully retain possession.

35 Munich building on their only chance of the match with some good possession. Ribery flouts the unspoken 'keep-the-ball' mantra, though, and he can't get past the full-back, thus losing the ball.

33 Poor from Robben, who should have buried that. Schweinsteiger catches the home defence out with a floated pass, which lands in the direction of Robben after Klose dummies it. The Dutchman is through on goal - and he blazes the ball high and wide on the volley.

32 Munich look stunned, and it's hardly surpising given the way that goal came out of nothing. You wouldn't expect a keeper playing at the highest level in Europe not to hold that, or at least get it to safety. Home side are relishing this and have a free-kick from wide left. Ball bounces up against the hand of Van Buyten after it lands akwardly - no penalty.

31 As it stands, Viola are in the quarter-finals based on their away goal from the first leg.

30 Vargas - from wide right - tries his luck having seen what Butt's handling is like. Too much on his free-kick, though, and it goes over.

Substitution29 Gomez departs in place of Klose, having picked up an earlier injury.

27 Poor from Butt, who tried shovelling a long distance from Montolivo behind, only for it to fall into the path of Vargas. The left-footer is stealing in and sweeps home a shot from an impossible angle for a good finish. Butt should have kept hold of that shot, or at least put it behind for a corner. Really was a daisycutter at best.

Goal27 GOAL! Out of nothing, Fiorentina have the lead!

26 Offside against Gomes from Alaba's cross-field pass.

25 Van Buyten decides to hoof it and concedes possession for his side, which was a shame. Those few passes really calmed the affair down. Home side are all huff and puff, but have nothing to show for their early industry.

24 Better from Munich, who are now knocking the ball around and frustrating the hosts. All one touch, into feet - pleasure to watch.

23 Lucky there for Schweinsteiger. He'll miss the next stage anyway, or the first leg at least, if Bayern go through after that caution.

Yellow Card22 Schweinsteiger is booked for shoving his hand in the face of Zanetti.

20 Robben leaves Vargas for dead with his piece, his direct play providing a rare piece of spark on this cold night. Bayern establish a few passes before the former Chelsea man has the ball nicked off his toes when poised to cross.

19 Fiorentina free-kick, into Silvestri, who wins a throw. Appeals for a handball against Ribery, not given. Crowd getting a bit more irked.

18 van Bommel slices one into the air, ungraciously as you can imagine in these conditions. Anyway, Fiorentina try build from the throw but Ribery is able to break. Muller tries a trick too many and is dispossessed.

16 That decision won't appease the hosts much after the first leg controversy. Vargas whips in again as Gilardino tries flicking one in at the near post. Van Buyten is tight to him and its out for a throw, which Bayern clear.

15 Montolivo sprays it out to Felipe and Vargas crosses from the left-flank. The ball strikes Van Buyten on the way through - no penalty, which is lucky for Bayern as the evidence against the defender was pretty conclusive.

14 Danger of a chance here. Robben goes on a great little run to the right by-line, but is forced to cut back to Schweinsteiger. His cross is poor, however, and Fiorentina clear the danger.

13 Offside against Marchionni. Butt takes the kick but it keeps coming back. Really scurffy in midfield as Jovetic hacks down Muller with a careless trip.

12 Tentative opening, then, both sides struggling to get it down and play such is the intensity, and of course the conditions. Not much to report at the moment.

11 Butt gets booed for dithering over a free-kick. Felipe leaps highest to meet it with a domineering header. Gomez holds his head after Natali gets up above him.

10 We're back underway, though, with the ref deciding it was a Viola free-kick.

9 Clash of heads between Kroldrup and Muller. Looks nasty - both are down holding their foreheads after taking a big knock.

8 Free-kick against Natali. Bayern play it short as they look to keep hold of the ball and settle into the tie. Hostile home support don't like it, though, and Bayern lose possession thanks to Ribery's mis-control.

7 Ball runs out for a goal kick, again. Hosts need to take a little bit off their final ball.

6 Head tennis in midfield.

5 Vargas swings in a free-kick from 35-yards out. He goes for goal and it lands on top of Butt's goal - not too far away that. The wind certainly carried it, but it didn't dip enough in time to test the German keeper.

4 Bayern free-kick, Alab tumbling under Jovetic's push. Both sides seem keen to play the ball in the air, but it really isn't clever - its blusterng about all over and is near impossible to judge, really is having a big impact on these opening stages.

3 Ribery looks to get down the left flank, but De Silvestri stands up tall and nicks the ball off the tricky Frenchman.

2 Very windy here in Florence. Bayern try taking a free-kick but the ball keeps blowing away from the Munich man's leg to strike it! Fiorentina try probing down the right but the pass is over hit and out for a goal kick.

1 Boos ring around the stadium as Bayern hold possession. Fiorentina are really getting in the visitors faces', though, and are starting with a high tempo.

0 Here we go then, great atmosphere here. Bayern kick off.

Feedback "I think it will be a reverse of the score in Munich, with Viola taking it 2-1. They ripped Liverpool to bits in Italy, and I think we will see a similar performance. But a team with Robben and Ribery will always pose a threat on the counter."

Craig Ross, from Wick.

Teams are out for the pre-match formalities, a bitterly cold night in Florence.

Sky Bet Fancy a cheeky bet before kick off? Skybet.com has more, but Fiorentina are 6/4 to progress, Bayern also 6/4 and the draw 12/5. Good luck!

Game will have heightened stakes tonight, and not just because there's a place in the final eight at stake. Fiorentina felt aggrieved after going down 2-1 in Munich last month with Miroslav Klose's late winner appearing to come from an offside position. The goal stood, although the hosts only need a 1-0 win to go through, thanks to the away goal.

Here are the starting XI's for tonight's encounter:

Fiorentina: Frey, Felipe, Kroldrup, Natali, De Silvestri, Zanetti, Montolivo, Vargas, Jovetic, Marchionni, Gilardino. Subs: Avramov, Donadel, Pasqual, Santana, Comotto, Bolatti, Keirrison.

Bayern Munich: Butt, Alaba, Badstuber, Van Buyten, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Van Bommel, Ribery, Robben, Gomez, Muller. Subs: Rensing, Altintop, Olic, Gorlitz, Klose, Pranjic, Tymoschuk.

Referee: Alberto Undiano Mallenco (Spain)
