Tranmere will again be without Ian Goodison when they play host to Oldham.

The centre-back is still away on international duty as he prepares to play for Jamaica in a World Cup qualifier against Mexico in Kingston.

Gambia wanted Rovers winger Ed Sonko to travel to Africa for a World Cup qualifier against Liberia in Banjul on Saturday.

But the Gambian FA failed to give Tranmere the required 15-day notice of the call-up and Sonko is therefore expected to line up against the Latics after scoring the winner in midweek against Accrington.

Young defender Godwin Antwi (ankle) and midfielder Gareth Edds (groin) are both doubtful after missing the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Stanley on Tuesday, while Antony Kay will also undergo a fitness test.

Oldham news

Chris Taylor, Mark Crossley, Sean Gregan and Andy Liddell are all expected to return to Oldham's squad.

Winger Taylor missed the Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalty shootout defeat to Morecambe due to a knock, while goalkeeper Crossley and veteran pair Gregan and Liddell were rested.

Striker Lee Hughes is expected to shake off a slight hamstring strain after being forced out of the action in midweek and Wales international Craig Davies is also available again for league action following suspension.

Manager John Sheridan has no other new injury or suspension problems and is unlikely to make further changes as the Latics look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season following three wins and a draw.
