Lampard: On fire

A visit from an in-form Chelsea side is hardly what the doctor ordered for a Wigan Athletic team that are on a five-game losing streak.

Chris Hutchings' men are struggling at present, while Chelsea are eyeing a fourth successive league victory.

Furthermore, the history books do not bode well for Wigan, who have not taken a point off the 'big four' in 17 attempts.

A chink of light for Hutchings comes in form of injury news; with Emile Heskey (metatarsal) remaining his only definite absentee.

Antoine Sibierski and Antonio Valencia should be fit enough to feature despite missing training earlier in the week.

Lampard form

Titus Bramble, meanwhile, is likely to start after a scan on a thigh problem showed no significant damage.

Avram Grant's under the radar progression as Blues boss was drawn to everyone's attention following the 6-0 demolition of Manchester City, and expectation surrounds Saturday's fixture.

The Israeli coach is still without John Terry (knee), Ashley Cole and Michael Ballack, but should continue with the rejuvenated Frank Lampard following the midfielder's midweek hat-trick.
