Defender John Thompson is likely to be missing for Oldham when they travel to Doncaster after going off injured early on during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Millwall.

Thompson went off to be replaced by Jason Jarrett, who is likely to step into midfield with David Livermore filling in at the back.

Boss John Sheridan may also consider selecting Ashley Kelly and Paul Black.

Skipper Sean Gregan is expected to be named among the substitutes while on-loan Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell will continue in goal.

Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll has no new injury or suspension problems after the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Yeovil on Good Friday.

James Hayter, Gareth Taylor and Mark McCammon are all vying for starting places up front with Stuart Elliott and James Coppinger most likely to make way if O'Driscoll opts to chop and change.

The Yeovil defeat left O'Driscoll's side out of the automatic promotion places and the former Bournemouth manager will be desperate for a home win to try and keep up with in-form Carlisle.

Midfielder Mark Wilson has shaken off a groin injury and could be involved, meaning Paul Green could find himself relegated to the bench.
