Wright: Hoping to be fit

Cheltenham Town are hoping to have Alan Wright available for the visit of Northampton Town, who are struggling defensively.

Wright sat out Monday's win over Leyton Orient, but could return from a hamstring injury, providing he proves his fitness in training.

On-loan midfielder Alex Russell has suffered a hamstring problem to add to his ongoing stomach injury and he will again be sidelined.

Michael Townsend (illness), Gavin Caines (knee) and John Finnigan (ankle) are long-term absentees, while Damien Spencer continues to battle a knee problem.

Northampton news

Cobblers boss Stuart Gray has only two centre-halves available for the game at Whaddon Road after Gabor Gyepes joined the injury list.

Gyepes hurt his hamstring against Carlisle on Monday and will be out for at least two weeks.

Captain Chris Doig, Brett Johnson (both hamstring) and Mark Hughes (thigh) are also on the sidelines, so Liam Dolman and Mark Little should start in defence.

Midfielder Ryan Gilligan begins a two-match suspension after collecting his 10th yellow card of the season, so Giles Coke will continue.
