Alexander: Looking for three points

Macclesfield will be hoping to pull further clear of trouble as they take on fellow strugglers Accrington Stanley at Moss Rose.

Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander will check on the fitness of striker Martin Gritton ahead of the clash.

Gritton has been struggling recently with hamstring problems but the Silkmen are otherwise in rude health as they seek to build on their recent impressive form.

Alexander has guided the club to three wins in their last four games and saw his men beat Barnet 3-0 at home on Easter Monday.

The former Lincoln boss came to Moss Rose for the last 12 games of the season and has put the Silkmen eight points clear of the drop zone.

He said: "We know that if we can get another good result against Accrington on Saturday we will put a lot of pressure on the teams below us."

Accrington news

Accrington boss John Coleman will welcome leading scorer Paul Mullin back into his side to face Macclesfield.

Mullin has missed Stanley's past two games with a calf injury but will be named in the squad for the trip.

Accrington have lost their two previous outings against Chesterfield and MK Dons leaving them five points adrift of Coleman's stated 50-point safety target.

Stanley will definitely be without Robbie Williams and club captain Peter Cavanagh who are suffering with knee and Achilles injuries respectively.

Coleman will also be without striker Andrew Mangan who has returned to Bury after completing his one-month loan spell.

But he will be able to call on the services of defensive duo Aswad Thomas (Charlton) and Darren Kempson (Shrewsbury) after their loans were extended until the end of the season.
