Davies: Back for Bolton

Bolton host Sunderland on Saturday in the Premier League and will be looking to ease themselves further away from the relegation zone.

Wanderers pulled themselves out of the bottom three with battling wins over West Ham and Middlesbrough and a draw at Tottenham.

They head into the weekend's fixtures just one point above the drop zone but could find themselves back in it come kick-off at the Reebok Stadium at 5.15pm.

Two of their relegation rivals, Fulham and Birmingham, meet earlier in the day while Reading tackle Tottenham, meaning Bolton will know what they need to do when they welcome the Black Cats.

Return

Boss Gary Megson receives a welcome boost ahead of the match with striker Kevin Davies set to return from suspension.

Davies broke his hand on his last appearance against West Ham, but it will not rule him out of the game.

Megson is waiting on further fitness updates on midfielders Joey O'Brien and Ivan Campo.

The pair are both doubtful with hamstring and calf injuries respectively.

Secure

Sunderland travel to Bolton safe in the knowledge that they have secured their Premier League status for next season following their battling 3-2 win over Middlesbrough last Saturday.

Boss Roy Keane has, however, urged his players not to be complacent now that they are safe as they play for their futures at the Stadium of Light.

Jonny Evans will return to the side after recovering from his injury but his former Manchester United team-mate Phil Bardsley has joined Dickson Etuhu on the sidelines and will be missing for the remainder of the season following knee surgery.

Transfer-listed midfielder Ross Wallace is hoping to regain a place in the squad after scoring a hat-trick for the reserves after recovering from a knee injury.

Bolton 4/6, Draw 5/2, Sunderland 10/3
