Stoke v Leicester preview

Both teams looking for points from this crucial clash

Last updated: 3rd May 2008

The stakes could not be higher as Stoke take on Leicester at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday, with the game getting underway live on Sky Sports 2 at 2pm.

The Potters need a draw at least to ensure automatic promotion to the top-flight for the first time since 1985.

But the Foxes need a win to guarantee Championship survival as they only lie above Southampton - and the relegation zone - on goal difference.

They have never previously been relegated to the third tier of English football in their 124-year history.

Stoke news

Boss Tony Pulis will be without Chris Riggott after the defender was recalled from his loan spell by Middlesbrough.

Boro boss Gareth Southgate activated a 24-hour release clause in the defender's deal after Robert Huth injured himself during training.

Riggott made nine appearances for the Potters, including three starts at right-back filling in for the injured Andy Griffin, who is now likely to be recalled to the starting line-up.

Leicester news

Boss Ian Holloway has injury concerns ahead of the game, including midfielder Matt Oakley, who is doubtful with a sore foot and ankle problem.

It also looks like time is running out for fellow midfielder Lee Hendrie, who has got an Achilles problem.

The Foxes are definitely without midfielder Stephen Clemence and defender Patrick Kisnorbo.
