Nigeria will be hoping to upset hosts Ghana in the first Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final on Sunday.

While Ghana finished top of Group A with a 100 per cent record from their three group games, Nigeria beat Benin in their final Group B game to eliminate Mali.

Ghana will be the favourites to progress due to home advantage although coach Claude LeRoy also boasts a fully-fit squad.

Their only worry is Udinese striker Asamoah Gyan who trained on Thursday and Friday away from the squad as he is nursing a slight groin strain.

Junior Agogo has recovered from illness while midfielder Laryea Kingston is available after sitting out the Morocco game with a one-match suspension.

Nigeria have a notable absentee as influential winger Peter Odemwingie will play no part in the game due to suspension.

Super Eagles coach Berti Vogts also has experienced forward Kanu available after he sat out their victory over Benin with the knock he collected against Ivory Coast.
