Warnock: Sights on the top-flight

Crystal Palace and Bristol City meet at Selhurst Park on Saturday for the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final clash, live on Sky Sports 1.

Fifth-placed City go into the tie as slight favourites having finished three points and one place above Palace in the league season.

Form, though, is often an important factor when the play-offs arrive on the football fixture list and in that sense Palace enjoy the edge after suffering only one defeat in their last 12 games in comparison with City's five setbacks in that time.

However, both Palace manager Neil Warnock and City boss Gary Johnson will be fully aware of the quirks of the play-offs and neither will be taking anything for granted as they bid to secure a place in the Premier League next season.

Moses doubt

Warnock is to make a late assessment on the severity of the thigh injury winger Victor Moses sustained in last weekend's 5-0 victory over Burnley.

Palace also have doubts over defender Matt Lawrence, who is recovering from a recent hernia operation.

City are expected to welcome back Marvin Elliott following the midfielder's return to training after he sustained a slight knock against Preston in the Robins' last outing.

Johnson is also likely to call on Lee Johnson now that the midfielder has recovered from an ankle injury.
