Morrell: May make debut

Andy Morrell is likely to make his Bury debut in the Carling Cup against Burnley, who are set for a raft of changes.

Experienced striker Morrell signed a two-year contract at Gigg Lane over the weekend and could start Tuesday's first-round clash.

Bury boss Alan Knill saw his team start the new season with a 1-0 win over Brentford, although at least one change is likely from that team.

Paul Scott was substituted due to an ankle injury, so Ryan Cresswell could come into the starting line-up.

Burnley news

Burnley boss Owen Coyle was scathing of his team after Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and has vowed to make changes.

Only Martin Paterson, Stephen Jordan and Wade Elliott escaped criticism for the Hillsborough humbling and Coyle is looking to avoid a cup shock.

"When you have had a kick in the teeth, you need to bounce back quickly and Tuesday gives us the opportunity to do that," said Coyle.

Joey Gudjonsson and Ade Akinbiyi came on as substitutes against the Owls and could be restored to the starting line-up against Bury.
