Newcastle host Bolton on Saturday with both sides looking to protect their unbeaten starts to the new Premier League season.

Whilst Bolton's opening day victory over Stoke was largely expected, Newcastle's excellent draw at Manchester United was not predicted by many.

The Magpies will now be full of confidence as they welcome a Bolton side - who have tasted recent success on Tyneside.

Their win in 2006 was their first for over 50 years and they followed that up last season with a 0-0 draw, so Newcastle are looking for their first home win over Bolton for more than two-years.

Both teams had sizeable numbers of players on international duty - but most look to have come through unscathed meaning there could be two unchanged line-ups on Saturday.

Newcastle still have few striking options meaning Damien Duff will again likely play behind lone front-man Obafemi Martins.

Argentine stars Jonas Gutierrez and Fabricio Cololccini - who both impressed at Old Trafford - will make their home debuts.

One major boost for Newcastle could be the return of Michael Owen to the bench after he came through training on Friday. He missed the start of the season with a calf problem.

Bolton like Newcastle will be unchanged barring any late injury scares.

Former Toon star Andrew O'Brien will play in central defence alongside Gary Cahill.

Record signing Johan Elmander will continue in attack and will look to carry on from last week after he netted on his debut.
