Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to Bolton aiming to bounce back from their Carling Cup exit.

A below-par second string Reds outfit were sent crashing out following a 4-2 defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez will be demanding a response from his troops as they look to maintain their push for the title against an in-form Bolton side.

Bolton have won their last two games against Manchester City and Hull and will be hoping to keep their good run going against Liverpool.

The home side welcome back skipper Kevin Nolan from suspension after he missed the 1-0 victory at Hull last weekend.

Trotters boss Gary Megson has no fresh injury concerns to deal with, but is likely to revert back to a 4-5-1 formation to accommodate Nolan's return.

Benitez is set to restore his top guns to the starting XI after resting a number of stars for the Carling Cup tie at Spurs.

The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, Jamie Carragher, Jose Reina, Dirk Kuyt and Javier Mascherano are all expected to start at the Reebok Stadium.

Fernando Torres is also in line to start after playing 55 minutes against Spurs as he continues his recovery from a hamstring problem.

Alvaro Arbeloa is suspended for the visitors meaning Benitez may shuffle his defensive pack with either Jamie Carragher or Stephen Darby starting at right-back as Philipp Degen faces four weeks on the sidelines with a foot injury.

The match sees former Bolton boss Sammy Lee return to the club as Liverpool assistant manager for the first time since leaving the Reebok helm.
