Holloway: Return to Loftus Road
Queens Park Rangers will be without Alejandro Faurlin for their opening game of the Championship campaign, while Blackpool boss Ian Holloway could hand debuts to three new signings.
While Holloway is taking on his former club in his first game in charge of the Seasiders, Jim Magilton will also be seeking a winning start to his QPR reign following his appointment in June.
However, QPR's big-money signing Faurlin is struggling with a thigh injury and will have to wait to make his competitive debut at Loftus Road.
There is better news on Akos Buzsaky, who has recovered from a thigh problem and is in contention to play.
Former Plymouth midfielder Buzsaky missed much of last season due to a serious knee injury and his return will be a major plus for Magilton.
Fellow midfielder Mikele Leigertwood has also returned to training after recovering from a thigh injury and will be in contention to face Blackpool.
And there is also positive news of defender Matt Connolly (calf) who has also returned to training ahead of the season opener.
Midfielder Charlie Adam sealed a permanent £500,000 transfer to Blackpool from Rangers earlier this week after a successful loan spell last season.
He is in line to make his first league appearance as a fully-fledged Seasiders player after helping Holloway's men to a 2-1 friendly win over Everton in midweek.
Former Southampton midfielder Jason Euell should make his bow at Loftus Road after signing a 12-month contract, with the option of a second year.
Former Ipswich striker Billy Clarke is also in contention after joining Blackpool earlier this summer following his release from Ipswich.
However, defender Danny Coid is definitely sidelined with a hairline fracture on his tibia.
