Norwich City are eyeing a third straight Championship victory when they take on Walsall on Saturday.

Canaries manager Paul Lambert will be without goalkeeper Ben Alnwick for the visit of Walsall.

On-loan Tottenham goalkeeper Alnwick returned against Brentford in the Johnstone's Paint trophy in midweek after a facial injury but has now picked up a hip injury and has returned to White Hart Lane for treatment.

He could be out for six weeks so on-loan Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster should start. Lambert saw his side beat Brentford but will recall a handful of players to the team as he looks for a third straight league victory.

Captain Grant Holt and Jamie Cureton will return in attack after being rested for the Brentford win, while Adam Drury and Paul McVeigh will hope to earn recalls.

Darel Russell, Goran Maric and Chris Martin will hope to be involved after being handed their first starts under Lambert in midweek.

Dejan Stefanovic has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent and midfielders Matt Gill and Owain Tudur Jones are both out with calf injuries.

Rhoys Wiggins (knee) is back in training but unlikely to feature while Damon Lathrope (broken arm) is still sidelined.

Walsall team news

Walsall captain Mark Hughes will miss the trip to Norwich as he continues to nurse a hip problem.

The centre-back has been sidelined for the past three games and will again watch on from the sidelines as the Saddlers look for their first win since the opening day. Fellow defender Stephen Roberts also continues to miss out.

Goalkeeper Clayton Ince and midfielder Mark Bradley remain on international duty with Trinidad and Tobago and Wales' Under 21s respectively, meaning Rene Gilmartin will continue in goal.

Striker Darren Byfield and full-back Jamie Vincent sustained slight knocks in the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Bury but both will be okay.

Recent loan signing Clayton McDonald is set to make his league debut at Carrow Road having featured against the Shakers.
